This boathouse was once a nice place, but it has not been maintained. As with houses in the Caribbean, the salt water/air takes its tole on everything; this is understandable. But nothing has been done to keep deterioration at bay. The tile throughout the house has lost a

I'm sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. Most people are very pleased and we have over 40 5-star reviews on another rental site. Having a beautiful waterfront location for an affordable price with reef and kayak access is a plus for most visitors.. Your review is overly critical and our location is definitely not for high maintenance people looking for a 5-star all inclusive resort. I would like to address some of the issues you mention. Coming during our long rainy season - we got 95 inches of rain instead of the typical 50-inches - has made the situation worse with the runoff water. However there is a beautiful snorkel right in the center of the bight, just a short swim away. Then at the entrance, where we have the floating tie-up, its totally awesome snorkeling. Also the mangrove tunnels are 5 minutes away. The camera down the hill is for security and I can assure you Dennis does not come down to see what you are doing. He might come down to unlock kayaks or help, but not for anything else. With our steep driveway, its easy for a vehicle to get stuck and not be able to get back up the hill...that's why we do not allow cars (except 4x4) to come down. When our worker is on duty he normally helps people get their luggage up and down the hill. The people before you broke the refrigerator handle and there is another on order through the manufacturer. The refrigerator is less than one year old. Because the house is on stilts and sways with movement, especially when overweight people are walking back and forth, we've found it impossible to keep the grout in the floor tile, but we do repair it periodically. The grill has custom feet built on it to fit over the railing and that's how people use it. Sorry you couldn't figure that out or it wasn't explained in my absence. Not sure about a leaky faucet - but will check into it. Again, sorry about your issues.

Jennifer, thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are so happy you had a good time and saw so many cool fish right at our reef and wall. We've got a 31-foot pool and gazebo under construction that should be finished in a couple of weeks. Please come back to enjoy the pool and see your fish friends again! We love it when guests enjoy the peace and quiet of the location and house...that's the primary reason we selected our location to build. Thanks, again. Marcia

My wife and I stayed in the Boathouse last year (see my review from 2014) and we had to come back again this year for two weeks. The boathouse itself is of modern construction with quality electrical wiring and outlets and a very nice kitchen and bathroom. This bay (bight) is so

My wife and I are SCUBA divers and have dived in Roatan before. We wanted to stay at a vacation rental property because we wanted the freedom of cooking breakfast and lunch with the option of eating at restaurants for dinner. Our two week stay at Castaway's Cove was just
