For about 8 nights we stayed here. As a family of 4 (2 kids) we really enjoyed it. It’s walking distance from good diving schools, bakery, groceries and a few dining places. Close enough to @Bando’s Beach, but a bit farther away from Chepe’s Beach. Walking around is part of

We had a 2 bed 2 bath cottage. Nice and clean comfortable awesome views right on the water close to our dive shop. The young lady that takes care of you is wonderful you could not ask for better service or reception she was great. The unit was great we had a fridge stove and

Please be careful about the reviews here. The two star reviews are the most accurate. It is possible the five stars are for The Boathouse, not for the rooms in the main house. The room we stayed in was the BayView Room. The bathroom was awful and the toilet was disgusting.

Dear Jane, Thank you for your comments, I apologize for giving you this bad experience at Lazy Daze. Regarding all of these issues, let me tell you the hotel is now under new management. We are looking forward to improve and give all of our guests a better customer service: cleaner, comfortable and more welcoming rooms. Gladly all the little details that you have mentioned have a solution and everything now is in better shape. I appreciate your review as it helps me be more aware and setting higher goals in satisfying all of our guests needs and demands. Best Regards, -James B Carter.

The pictures completely fooled us. They clearly are taken in the best possible angle and make the room look bigger than it actually is. We got the “garden view” which is a cornered room facing an unfinished dock and a super small garden that needs maintenance/improvement.

Hi Veronica, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We make every effort to make sure our guests enjoy their stay with us. Unfortunately we did need to have some maintenance done on one morning, for another guests room and I'm sorry if this was an inconvenience for you but we did want the workers to finish so they could spend Christmas Day with their families. For the water tambo (drinking water dispenser in the room), these sit upside down so cannot be changed until they are completely empty, otherwise the water will spill out everywhere, so we check them everyday and ask guests to inform us when they run out so we can change them. Also, when you checked in, I gave you my card with a phone number and internet access and told you to contact me day or night should you have any problems. If your toilet sounded like it was leaking, you only had to call me or send me a message as this is a 10 second fix but we never expect guests to start to playing with the valves on the plumbing which are very tucked away below / behind the toilet. As I explained to you, because you had opened those valves, you had changed the settings in your bathroom to salt water (which is for emergencies). This was fixed the moment you informed me of any issue at all and again, we are very sorry for your experience. Although this situation has never happened to other guests before, I will be putting some small warning signs on these in the future to be sure nobody else has the same experience. Due to Utila being a very small Caribbean island, occasionally there are things that happen that are out of our control (power, water, rain). We do our absolute best to make your stay as comfortable as possible and if our guests are not happy, we do everything we can to make it right. We hope our guests can understand this and still appreciate the character and beauty of the island.

I have just returned after spending a month at Lazy Daze as a single female traveller. The hotel is perfectly situated close to several dive shops but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main strip to maintain its tranquility . The rooms are clean and comfortable and
