I really enjoyed my stay here. I was the only guest the two nights I was here. Had a private room that was clean, had a good bed and hot shower. Breakfast was good. Topic I first day. Eggs, beans, tomato, cheese, oats and tea. Second day, pancakes, oats, fruit. More than enough. The family that run this also own...

First, it is quite far. It may seem 5 blocks is not that much, but it's 5 blocks up hill and there is nothing aroun the hostel besides local people house. The breakfast is a shame, really. Let's start by the fact the breakfast isn't serve in the same place you sleep, it's in another hostel called Berakah. They say...

It's clean and the beds are really nice, it has a very nice terrace where everybody hangs out including locals! also they have private shuttles leaving daily to antigua guatemala which is very handy, owners go out of their way to help you...

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the private rooms at the hostel. It was very simple, but clean and met all of our needs. Monique and Alex were AMAZING though. They were helpful in making recommendations, calling tuk tuks for us, and planning tours. My passport and wallet got stolen/lost while I was on a day tour (from...

Apparently El Abuelo is under new management. I arrived around 4pm, and after being on a bus all day and having eaten nothing but chips and a coke, I was ready for something to eat. When I asked Monica where I should eat lunch, she responded with "it's raining outside, and I just made chicken soup. Help yourself" I spent...

If you are looking for some relaxing and the best view over Copan? stay at Abuelo hostel. The best terrace view over the beautiful town of Copan. Big kitchen, big rooms and good showers. Just couple of blocks from the centre square. Enjoy

this hostel is newly renovated and thus in good condition. The beds and mattresses are all comfortable. There is a small patio with hammocks and a decent sized kitchen for guest use. Cons: Staff were rather rude to is and the hostel is about 5 blocks from town on top of a very steep hill, which the staff failed to...

The rooms and the hostel are really nice, but there are only 2 bathrooms..and in one of them the shower doesnt really work properly due to low pressure of...

We booked with Berakah, but were transferred to El Abuelo nearby, which is only a few minutes walk away. The owners/managers checked with us by phone for our arrival time, and met us on arrival to guide us to the nearby El Abuelo. We were greatly welcomed and made to feel at home, and given easy access to come/go as...
