The location in peaceful and has a wonderful view over Copan. It is up a rough and very long track but is well worth it. The dinner which was prepared for our arrival was home cooked and delicious but what made the place so special was the extra care throughout our stay and very freindly welcome...from the candles in the... If you have gotten this far in your travel research, you know about the US State Department warning regarding Honduras. It really isn't possible to talk about HSL without including the impact of that on the tourism of the area and surely the whole country. We had always had Copan on our list and friends had stayed at HSL so... More

As you can tell by my other reviews of Copan it is a magical place for sure. We only stayed at Hacienda San Lucas for one night. It was exactly as I envisioned...a private, rustic, spectacular place. We arrived mid day and then went on a horse back ride with San Lucas that was amazing. I had not been on... More

My husband Monty and I had a wonderful evening at hacienda San Lucas last night. We had a close friend of Flavia's recommend it and we were NOT disappointed! In the evening upon our arrival around 530pm, we took a short walk with a guide to see Los Sapos ruins on the property. Afterwards we sat in chairs with a... More

May is really off season in Copan, Honduras, but this is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you have your own transportation. You can have the place to yourself. The best way to describe this, is a rustic, romantic cabin in the woods with hotel amenities. This is an old hacienda (100 years) that used to be a coffee... More

“The two original rooms, Corral and Coccina, are located closest to the main house and dinning room. This is good for someone who has trouble with stairs. Full strength wifi. The other six rooms are nestled up into the mountainside and provide additional privacy. Medium to no strength wifi based on the proximity to the main building that has the router.”
