Richard and his staff were wondering and very accommodating to our family. The food was delicious and the villas were beautiful with everything we needed. The property is stunning, we enjoyed the butterfly garden and hummingbirds. Wow!!

Property's Favourite Review
Resort was absolutely wonderful. The accommodations were very spacious. Richard, the owner/manager was very accommodating. He booked all of our trips, transportation and gave us good advice on what to do. We did a lot of hiking, visited the chocolate factory and the national park which were all within walking distance. The staff was nice and the food excellent and very reasonable. We sat by the infinity pool every evening and watched toucans fly over. The resort is right on the river so you hear the river flowing and it overlooks the waterfall. Absolutely idyllic. The grounds are like being in a botanic garden and hummingbirds are everywhere. The resort is not air-conditioned, the restaurant is open air, and there’s a lot of walking on uneven pathways. You need good mobility to be able to fully enjoy the area. I highly recommend hikes in the national park, trip to out island, mangrove kayaking and visit to chocolate factory. I was very impressed with taxis. Very prompt and nice vehicles. Resort is about hour out of La Ceiba. Dirt road and 20 miles an hour but very scenic. I felt very safe. We were about three hours in customs and immigration, but the baggage scanner had broken. Everybody was nice and helpful. I wish I could speak Spanish. Many people did speak English. If you’re looking for back to nature experience, this is a nice place to go. I live on Cayman Brac in the winters and friends wanted to get off this island for school break. Since Cayman Airways has a direct flight, it was a great trip!

We recently stayed at Villas Pico Bonito from December 25, 2023 to December 31, 2023. I highly recommend the Villas Pico Bonito. Richard and his staff were excellent and made us feel at home. I can’t speak highly enough about how well we were treated. The grounds and pool are beautiful and very well maintained. The lodges exceeded our expectations. We also hosted our daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner at the restaurant and the food was fabulous, the staff was super accommodating and easy to work with. We experienced a storm at the end of our stay and the staff was very attentive to make sure we had water, dry towels and blankets, and kept the restaurant open to make sure we had food. We are already planning our return trip.

We spent over three weeks in this wonderful place that served as ideal starting base for a tour in the western departments of Honduras. The lodges are spacious, neat, and offer the entire commodities one needs. The owner Richard is fully concerned on the well-being of his guests, and his staff has proven to be equally of high standard when it comes to even small details or requests. We can only thank them all very warmly for having contributed to a journey we will remember for ever...

The place was great! We had a great weekend spent at Villas Pico Bonito. The property is located within an enormous jungle which is a delight to explore. A perfect laid back ambience where you get to have a villa all to yourself and enjoy some quality private time with family including pets. The booking office is very cordial, quick responses and helpful. The owner is a lovely respectful person. My family and I are in love with this place! If you love being among nature, I highly recommend you this place.

The Villas, up a mountain road from La Ceiba, are the perfect place to relax, enjoy the sounds of the rainforest, and go swimming in both the pool and the river. The location was just perfect, with easy access to hike in Pico Bonito National park. We were surrounded by jungle and the sounds of birds the entire time, just sitting on our balcony we could see toucans, oropendolas, kingfishers, and many other jungle birds. Our view of the river and El Bejuco waterfall took my breath away every morning, and it was easy to walk down to take a dip in the river whenever we felt like it. We loved our villa and enjoyed having a kitchen to cook our own food in. Richard, as well, was super welcoming and arranged a ride for us all the way from the San Pedro Sula airport as well as helped us get rides into town for both the grocery store and the ferry terminal. Overall, a great stay that I would highly reccomend for some peace and quiet in the Honduran rainforest!

Villas Pico Bonito is one of the most beautiful locations we have visited. The villas are gorgeous and well appointed. The surroundings absolutely spectacular. We were greeted at the ferry in La Ceiba and driven to the property. We took a guided jungle hike up the mountain of Pico Bonito National Park with Ozny, who was a wealth of information. The hike was hard work but doable by us, a couple 60yr olds. We also went white water rafting with our guide, Pablo, whose experience and knowledge made it a fun and stress free couple hours. The food and service in the bar/restaurant was top notch. It was a comfortable place to chat with other guests and enjoy the surroundings. We would like to thank Richard, our host, for his warmth and professionalism. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this amazing location.

this is my third stay at the Villas - Feb, June and now in Oct - in every season the grounds are magnificent!! The rooms are comfortable with stunning views of the river and waterfall. The food is delicious and the staff is accommodating and friendly. Don Richard is a wonderful host and I look forward to my next visit, hopefully in Feb. It is very safe on the grounds and to walk to the local chocolate factory and the cost is so affordable compared to Costa Rica or Belize for the same experience!!! Come on down!!!!

This was a really great place to vacation and chill. Individual villas with magnificent views of the river and national park. Our villa was very modern with an equipped kitchen, bedroom, nicely appointed living area…..plus a really great balcony to watch nature. Staff was super friendly. The food was terrific with a blend of western and Honduran offerings. Plenty to do during the day. Zip lining, kayaking, a trip to snorkeling beach, and national park trails to hike. No TV, thank you very much, but really good WiFi. The grounds of the complex were beautiful with lots of butterflies and humming birds. Can’t wait to go back.

Villas is a wonderful place to indulge in nature and enjoy everything Pico Bonito has to offer. Richard’s property is landscaped with a wide variety of beautiful blooming flowers and native plants. A bird watchers delight! Richard and his staff were wonderful and made us feel right at home. Richard organized all of our tours and pickups/drop off to the airport, which made our trip easy, safe, and enjoyable. Also a special thank you to the bar and kitchen staff who were fantastic. We will definitely book again! 10/10
