An excellent place. And the perfect host. Beautiful view of Fes from the rooms with terrace! Great breakfast and welcoming team at the Riad. There is parking a few minutes away at reasonable cost. However, beware of the porters. While the asking rate to carry luggage to the Riad is 20dirham, the porter would not let us enter the Riad without 100 dhs!

I was travelling with my family of 8 (parents and parents in-law). We all agreed that some of the best food we had in Morocco was at La Maison Maure! Christian-Stéphane, the owner made us feel very much at home. The dinners we had two nights in a row were exceptional- keftah in tomato sauce, lamb shoulder falling off the bone, chicken in a mushroom white sauce and delicious vegetables served with this spread that left us full and happy each night. The location in the medina (but in the quiet part of it) allowed for easy access to walk around even at night. The view from the terrace is incredible and the sunsets are gorgeous. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed and the staff took very good care of us. A wonderful stay!

For six wonderful nights we made Maison Maure our home base to explore Fes and the region. What a treat. Just a moment away from a main street of the medina, down a nearly hidden alleyway, the Maison Maure is a stunning oasis of calm and beautiful design with an incredible host. Christian-Stephane's enthusiasm, guidance and genuine connection with his guests made our trip a great success. He organized two superb day-long tours of the region for us, plus a tour of the medina, with amazing guides. Coming back to Maison Maure at the end of the day to our beautiful room, and to enjoy the sunset over the medina from the terrace, felt like coming home. All the staff were beyond helpful. We had an amazing dinner at the restaurant, where we also started our days with wonderful breakfasts. We usually don't write many reviews, but wanted to share our incredible experience. We highly recommend Maison Maure. Bill and Carol, Toronto, Canada

Christian, the host and owner, made the trip 100% A1. He helped organize a tour, help me buy. My bus ticket was a gracious host, had the best stories, and the trip would be a disaster without him. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

My second stay in La Maison Maure was as enjoyable as my first. It is seldom that I feel so much at home in a place like La Maison Maure. The whole house is a perfect symphony of colors and design. An island of peace in the busy medina of Fes. But what makes the place even more special is the owner and manager who will make your stay as perfect as it can be. His passion for life is contagious and whatever he loves, whether it be opera, food, or art, he will share his knowledge to those interested. Be sure to eat dinner in La Maison Maure! It is a feast for all senses. The best food I found so far inside the medina.

We truly enjoyed our stay at La Maison Maure. The rooms were just as lovely as in the pictures and the art on the walls is perectly curated. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks on the terrasse overlooking the medina and beyond and had dinner indoors on the ground floor restaurant. The (copious!) dinner was excellent; we'd had a chance to discuss our preferences beforehand and everything was perfect. Breakfast again was very tasty although way more than we could eat! Our host Christian was always availble and really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and freely shared his knowledge of Fes, life in the medina, art and culture. He also provided great recommendations for sighseeing and lunch options. The riad is only a minute's walk from the main street so extremely central and whithin easy reach of all the sights and points of interest, shops, and restaurants in the medina. Highly recommend a stay at la Maison Maure for a stay in the medina that combines historic charm with contemporary decor. We will definitely return

We miss Fes, the Médina, and Riad living already and we only left yesterday. Our two nights stay at this beautifully designed Riad on top of the Médina was very enjoyable. We had the top floor all to ourselves with a bedroom, living space and a patio. Having an electric tea kettle in the room is always a good idea for a coffee lover like me. Driss the manager was super kind and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant the first night and chef served us himself and food was excellent. Other people were having dinner from other Riads around the area there too. Breakfast was served in the same space as mornings were a bit cooler during our stay for having it up on the patio. Fatima who served breakfast was sweet and very welcoming. We highly recommend this Riad for anyone visiting Fes. I have a couple of suggestions as a designer who loves discovering how others live and is always searching for inspiration but also totally believes form and function must go hand in hand. The shower head in the room needs to be installed differently for it to properly function. There needs to be a place to set your soap, shampoo, conditioner so you don’t have to reach for them from the sink counter while taking a shower. There also needs to be a place to hold the toilet paper, even if in a basket since placing it on top of the toilette is not functional. One other thing is to somehow manage how noise travels up to the top floor from the two cute little windows on each side of the bed through the breeze ways.

We stayed at Maison Maure for two nights and were very warmly welcomed by Driss, the manager of the location. It is an absolutely beautiful place and we had a very tastefully decorated and big room. As the restaurant there was fully booked the first night, we were guided to a nearby moroccan restaurant in a stunning location with very good food. The breakfast offered a great selection of things like home-made yoghurt, pancakes or omelette. Also the food at the restaurant was delicious and nicely presented. On top of that, also the service was great. Like Christian, the owner and Driss, the manager of the hotel, all the people working at Maison Maure were very friendly and helpful. So everything was just wonderful and we can definitely recommend to stay there. Perfect Moroccan hospitality with 5 stars!

It’s a gorgeous riad and we were very excited. The first night we got there we had reservations at another restaurant but they insisted we HAD to eat dinner there because the chef had made us dinner already. So we are dinner at the riad and it took them 1.5 hours to prepare it (obviously wasn’t pre prepared). The morning we left we had to leave at 8 am so they told us they would be ready with breakfast at 7:30. No one was awake that morning and we had to find our way out of the place, even at 8:15 am. No breakfast. Another couple was waiting on someone to help them get to the airport (they had been told that there would be someone there at 8 am and were going to miss their flight). Overall, a big disappointment.

The Riad is exactly how the photos have shown on its website. Very stylish and well designed. The location is great, WiFi and hot water are readily available. Driss (the manager) and Hamid were very friendly and made us feel very welcome in the their city. Hamid gave us lots of tips about navigating in Fes and walked with us a couple times to make sure we know our way. Driss was very helpful in finding my husband a dentist when he really needed one! He even gave us his contact in case we needed his help in communicating with the clinic. We really appreciate their kindness and made our in time in Fes an enjoyable one!
