Check-in: Check-in was very efficient. We arrived at the hotel late and tired but were checked in quickly. The receptionist gave us all necessary information without having to ask – wifi code, location of restaurant etc.

Room: Room is ordinary. It was quite warm in the room and we were having trouble adjusting the temperature. We were told the next day that there was no air conditioning just heat! I hope that is only true in February, not sure how anyone would manage without air in the summer. The lack of air made the room very stuffy so difficult to get a good night sleep. We did not find the beds comfortable.

Restaurant: Dinner and breakfast were included in our rate and served buffet style. There was almost no one in the restaurant any of the times we were there. On the first night, we got there towards the end of dinner service. Much of the food in the buffet was cold. When my husband complained they brought some hot food to the table. The next night, dinner was a little better but still not great. Service was somewhat improved as well. The buffet is served in a large hall with no ambiance at all. Given such a small number of guests, I am not sure why they don't serve dinner a la carte in the restaurant. Would likely be more cost efficient, a better experience for the guests and dramatically less food waste.

Overall Service: Front desk and bell men service was excellent. Restaurant service was uneven.

The lobby is beautiful but neither the rooms nor the food qualifies as 5 star.

The hotel was clean, modern, and the facilities were spot on.
The swimming pool was one of the most enjoyed features at the end of a long day.

Wasn’t keen on the food choices, and personal taste also makes me rate the food quality as average.

Our Standard double room proved to be spacious with a double settee and coffee table. Room looked out to big garden.
We were supplied with bottle water, kettle, tea/coffee; which was a rare sight in Morocco. Wifi was free and fast.

My husband and I decided to stay at a hotel outside the Fes medina, because we had already stayed at a riad in the Marrakesh medina earlier in our trip, and also our guide warned us that it wasn't safe to wander around the medina in Fes after sundown (he also warned us about walking anywhere by ourselves at night). After looking at the various hotel options, we decided to book our last two nights in Morocco at Palais Medina & Spa. It turned out to be the perfect place to wind down at the end of our trip. We booked directly with the hotel, and requested a room overlooking the pool. They gave us a wonderful room (Room 240), which had a king-size bed, sofa and desk area, and balcony with chairs and table overlooking the pool area. Our rate included breakfast, and it was a huge buffet, with lots of different options like scrambled eggs, potatoes, as well as pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc. Although we had a driver and didn't need parking, there appeared to be plenty of secure parking at the hotel (you have to pass a security guard to enter the hotel grounds). We also loved the fact that the hotel is located next to the "Borj Fez Centro," a modern shopping mall with a food court, including U.S. restaurants like Pizza Hut, Burger King, etc. (McDonald's is also just outside the mall). We ended up bringing back takeout meals from the food court to enjoy on our balcony. There is also huge Carrefour supermarket on the ground floor of the shopping mall, and a liquor store next to it.

After 10 hours on the road we checked into this so called 5 star hotel which we booked with a king bed. This room looks worse than any 1 star motel room in the middle of nowhere. I went to the desk asking for some bottled water and a glass so we could brush our teeth. An hour later I called and made the same request. Nearly 90 minutes later it arrived, meaning we didn't make our prepaid dinner which now was really picked over. But the worst is how disgustingly dirty and shabby this room is and our king bed is 2 twins. You could scrape the dirt on the bathroom floor with a knife. Not sure when the toilet or bathroom was cleaned. The one chair is so soiled we won't sit on it. The furniture looks like it came from a school dormitory. They said they would see if they could find us a better room tomorrow. If there is a better one I will amend this.

A 5-star it’s NOT! not even a 3 star! Shower/bath in rooms did not work, drain was blocked, bath/shower is difficult/unsafe to climb in/out of, internet didn’t work in many bedrooms, towels are threadbare and few, in room telephones don’t work well, front desk don’t answer the phone. Gym: out of 3 machines only 1 worked. No water or towels available. Breakfast is so-so. Service is non existing! Staff show no interest to improve. After explaining to staff that the internet didn’t work, they told us it was working just fine! Only thing it has going for it, is the location. See photo for additional info.

We stayed two nights in this so called 5 star hotel in the city of Fez. The booking was arranged from our travel office.
When we arrived the first night the hotel looked gorgeous from outside and lobby big and luxurious. Our room was also spacious and clean.
Unfortunately there was not any coffee machine inside the room not even a single cup or water. Wi-fi was ok but this was not the point.
Dinner was mediocre with not so good quality of food and breakfast was also so and so. Also the egg station was appearing when it was the time for us to go. Strange
The area around the hotel was ok with a mall next to it which helped a lot due to the choicces of eating something different
The incident that made us feel uncomfortable was that on the first or second morning, I dont remember clearly we heard from another group that was on the same hotel that an intruder or something like that entered a room during night.
We are not sure if this was real or not but to tell the truth I woke up around 3 am because there was a lot of noise on the corridors which I couldnt realise if it was about this or if it was a celebration or something.
Overall it was not an acceptable situation during night

A 2 or 3 star for comfort at best
I don’t recommend it.

The breakfast buffet at Palais Medina & Spa is to die for. There is a wide selection that will fortify guests to the hilt. The staff was courteous and took care of the guests well. When I requested for chili, it was quickly delivered to my table, and I immediately got my hot thrills for the day.

It's one of the most useless in all respects, it deserve 5* rating. There are so many negatives:

1. No Bell Boys
2. They don't replenish water bottles or coffee sachets.
3. They don't refill empty dishes for Dinner or B/f. The spread is also very poor.
4. Very rude staff except for Ms. Lisa at the front desk
5. It's way out of town, the only saving grace was the mall next door.

The faults can go on n on....

The hotel has a rather pricey laundry service; however there is a popular "people's mall" right next door and I would bet that there's a laundromat there. Just beware of the pick-pocket, "begging" children around the outside of the mall. The mall also contains one of Morocco's rare wine and liquor store and several pizza places if you don't want to eat in the hotel.

We didn't encounter flat prong outlets anywhere in Morocco. You will need a converter, even for the Palais Hotel.
