Hopefully a review better late than never. 5 years (2009) since we visited Fez!! Unforgettable experience. We chose to stay here on our return to Fez as it was in a different part of the medina to where we stayed on our arrival. We loved staying here. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, as was the room used... More

Dar El Hana is a gorgeous, expertly-renovated home conveniently located in the heart of the old medina of Fès. It is immaculately clean. Guests are very well taken care of by the friendly and knowledgeable Simo, who will answer any questions you might have about the best food and shopping, must-see places to visit and ways to get around Fès... Unfortunately I were a number of items that disappointed. 1. Could not sleep due to dust; 2. Cold breakfast: roll, tea and yogurt even though there was a kitchen; 3. Kitchen lacking supplies, i.e. towels, etc. 4. Offered wine for purchase but no sodas, 5. Simo was helpful to the point of being obnoxious

Hello Jim H, Thank you for taking the time to review us. I would like to respond to your review, and point out that, given our track record, it is surprising that "dust" was so prevalent as to keep you awake. Sodas are readily available at the corner shop, whereas wine is not available for sale in the Medina, therefore... More

I can thoroughly recommend it!! Tucked away in the centre of the medina with a very helpful manager, this a lovely little dar. As with many of the dars there is roof garden, with sitting area where breakfast was served. It has lovely views across the city from there. The room I had was huge with a small sitting room... Welcomed by Simo and directed to secure parking. Then escorted to our accomodation, a beautiful old home within the medina. Simo ensured all was well, directed us to a restaurant for dinner, introduced us to family members and was always available to us for advice and guidance. A truly wonderful experience!

Hello PaulandDebbie, I want to thank you so much for taking this time to write a review, and this is special for Simo, considering he is taking up a big responsibility and is obviously "a natural" at making people feel at home in his Medina. We hope you enjoyed your next destinations in Morocco. More

Lonely Planet Morocco travel guide was absolutely right when it wrote Dar El Hana guesthouse in Fes, Morocco is "a home away from home." We stayed at this charming, reasonably priced, friendly centrally located (in the heart of the old city medina) quiet guesthouse for 4 days this November, 2015, and loved it. The staff Arantxa (manager), Simo (jack of... More

The staff was very communicative from the beginning and they always answered my emails and helped me organizing the trip. The Riad is well located, clean and furniture are beautiful. The terrace is amazing and the breakfast too. We also had dinner the first night and it was tasty and abundant (thank you Fatima!) Simo was a plus to all... More

After a compact economy flight into a strange city there's little better than being picked up by a friendly driver sent from the very dar within which you are about to stay. Travelling in space but also in the case of the medina, in time ( the "new" part dates from the 13th century and the old from the 9th... More

Run by people who actually live in the Fez Medina, Dar El Hana is a gem of a find. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we were looked after. Wonderful place in the middle of the Medina of Fes. It is hard to find, but great value and ditto service. Very friendly people and nice rooms. Don't forget to enjoy the sun roof in the late afternoon, and for breakfast.
