Very friendly staff, super helpful and welcoming. They arranged reservations for belly dancing and helped wash our clothes which was great as we’d arrived from a Sahara tour. We enjoyed delicious pancakes at breakfast. The place is very clean and in a brilliant location for seeing the Medina and going to local Hammams. Lovely cotton sheets and bedding. Very pretty Riad.
Riad Tizwa is amazing, a 200 year old building beautifully and lovingly restored. Our room, the fireplace in the salon and the rooftop terrace provided havens in which to recover from busy days exploring Fes. Meriem was an exceptional host, happy to give advice and assist us with our plans. Our stay here was an absolute highlight of our time in Morocco.
Location is perfect in the medina but near batha square Beautifully decorated Lots of small details make the difference Very good breakfast and kind staff Highly recomended The terrace is also very nice
Ok so this place really is an absolute GEM ! We were somewhat in trepidation of venturing into North Africa and searched long and hard for the right lodgings - Tizwa was a sensation from the start : the smiley man at the sleek and hassle free airport and the smooth transter into the old town (the Medina) The Riad is a super comfy town house easy to reach and to find as its near to one of the Medina gates (in the Batha district ) An outstanding welcome from the TIzwa team and delicous mint tea on arrival (the wafting delicious smell of rose oil in the courtyard) before being shown to our luxuriously appointed rooms with super high quality Egyptian cotton sheets and bed linen and fluffy towels and bath robes ..we knew we were in for a fabulous stay ! Special shout out to Merieme the marvellous manageress, Nadia the lovely cook and the lovely boys Muhammed (?) and Zouhier (?) we were treated SO WELL and will miss being pampered and smiled at so much ! (they speak perfect English as well ) Breakfasts were the BEST with home made fresh bread and honey, yoghurt, omlettes, fruit salad, fresh orange juice and strong coffee we were fortified for a days of prowling the enormous souks for bargains, visiting abandoned palaces (see the Glaoui ) eating out like KINGS at Cafe Clock and The Secret Garden and watching the stunning sunset from the hill at the Marinid Tombs during the call to prayer - this place is an exotic assualt on the senses and we really do suggest you stay at the Riad Tizwa Fez to experience it at its best. (ups almost forgot to mention the fabulous roof terrace festooned with plants and flowers with views over the old city !) We will be back for sure .. SHUKRAN !! Richard & Victor (from Barcelona, Spain November 23rd 2019)…
Riad Tizwa was awesome! The riad was absolutely beautiful and our room was adorable! Zuhair and Mohammad (apologies if I misspelled!) went above and beyond to not only make sure our stay at the riad was enjoyable but helped us arrange our upcoming travel needs. The riad is perfectly located on the edge of the old Médina so you don’t have to go through the maze of the Medina to find your accommodation. After staying at a different riad our 3rd night I am sad we are not at Riad Tizwa. My partner and I miss the friendly faces and comfortable atmosphere.
