Riad Aïcha is located in the east of the Medina, near the entrance gate Bab Ailen. This is the oldest part of Marrakech. Here, along the river, was an early Berber settlement. In this working-class part of the city there are not many tourists yet, while you can still walk to the main square, Jamaa-el-Fna, in fifteen minutes. The museums and other cultural attractions are close by from Riad Aicha. Outside the city, the large or small taxi is a very convenient means of transport. These are nearby. We pick up the guests from the airport and take them away, the cost is 15 € for every 6 people. The Riad has 7 air-conditioned rooms and all with a private bathroom. On the ground floor is a spacious lounge with a library, fireplace and TV. There is also a swimming pool to freshen up. On the flat roof are a Berber and a Maurethanian tent where breakfast is served. There is also a hammam where you can get a scrub followed by various Moroccan massages. It is nice to have a welcome dinner on arrival. It is a traditional tagine or couscous with a starter and dessert. Zara makes a daily menu, so let yourself be surprised. The costs are 15 €. If you stay for a minimum of 3 nights and you pay in advance, the 3-course welcome dinner is free!

We stayed at the riad for 7 days, the rooms are clean and there’s everything you need. Rooms are styled according to the Maroccan tradition. The bed was comfortable and we had enough space. The host is super nice and always happy to help you around! Location is super, the riad is located in the local part of the Medina and within 20 minutes walk from the Djema el-fna market. I can definitely recommend having dinner at the Riad, Zara is an amazing cook - best Tajine we have had! Regarding activities, the host offers nice trips to the mountains and the waterfalls!

The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. There was not a lot of variety at breakfast - a boiled egg, bread, a yoghurt and fruit. The suite was in the traditional style but needed renovating; some of the plug sockets were loose, the bins were broken and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. The riad is in a really convenient part of the medina, a 15 minute walk to Jemaa El-Fnaa.

This is the second time I visited this riad and it is still a contender for being the best riad in the medina. Outside the tourist trail in an authentic part of Marrakech, the real thing ! It takes about 20 minutes walking to the main square, but there is so much more in this wonderful city ! Loek, the owner, and Zara, the cook, give you a warm welcome, a very pleasant stay and good food. Great to have breakfast on the roof terrace, makes you want to stay there for the rest of the day. With Loeks' guidance it is a good idea to make day-trips outside the city. We went to the High Atlas for a nice walk and all was arranged perfectly. Having been in Marrakech at least 8 times over the last 10 years, I have no hesitation in recommending this riad ! You definitely want to come back here.

I can't say enough positive things about this Riad! It is located in the Medina but not in the touristy part - about 15 minutes from the square. It is a beautiful house, designed with love by the owner, Loek. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Loek is a very tolerant Dutch man that speaks several languages and loves to talk to his guests about the Medina and surroundings. He lives in the Riad along with his guests and provides a very safe atmosphere. He and his staff, Zara and Karim, are always available for any questions. The food is fantastic! We stayed for 10 days and had dinner in the Riad about half the time because it was so good and better than anywhere else we tried. When my husband's passport went missing, Loek and Karim helped us deal with the police and Loek even drove us to the Consulate to get the papers (4 hours each way). We couldn't have done it without him! We will be forever thankful and will remember his superb hospitality fondly. We highly recommend this Riad to anyone who wants to have an authentic Moroccan experience.

The riad we were initially reserved in was overbooked and were pleasantly moved to Riad Aicha. It feels like home when you walk in; very tranquil and clean, beautiful architecture and an authentic feel. The rooms are clean and elegantly decorated. Loek makes you feel comfortable and helps you organize your days in Marrakech. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was the best we had in Morocco! I would highly recommend this riad.

I stayed in Loek's self-designed Riad in April 2015. I had limited time to visit Marrakech, so I did not spend much time in the Riad, but I remember the details of the beatifully renovated house, the breakfast at the roof, "the roof cat" who wanders between the roofs of houses, and the calmness after all that charming hullabaloo of « Jemaâ el Hna ». Its distance from the center is not a big issue given all the taxies passing nearby, even for a person who is not very good at orientation. After all, Loek is really responsible of his guests and helps for directions.

I had a wonderful stay in this Riad. I was picked up at the airport without any hassle, and when I came to the Riad an amazing dinner awaited. The owner is very nice and takes time to talk to the guests and help with any questions. The riad is located in a friendly part of the Medina and can easily be walked from to the market. Taking a taxi there is also easy as taxi drivers know where it is located. I can highly recommend staying here and also having food here.

Not only Loek will make everything to make you feel at home, this Riad has an amazing architecture and traditional but modernized style. The fireplace, the terrace, the rooms, every space of Aicha gives you the calm that Marrakech makes you wish. The staff are wonderful people. Very clean and with anything you need at reach. This was one of our best experiences in our time in Morocco, we will most certainly come back. Thanks Aicha, and of course thank you Loek!
