We (4 of us) stayed at Riad Aguaviva for 5 days and enjoyed every single moment. The riad is absolutely beautiful, welcoming, and very warm. The staff is incredible and truly make you feel at home and are available at any and every moment. I needed change for smaller bills and the staff went out and got it for me! I loved the intimacy of this riad as there are only 5 rooms. For this reason, they know all of their guests very well. Hannah is absolutely amazing and speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, French, and even some Hebrew (very impressive) so communicating was never a problem. She even walked us to some of the places we wanted to go, helped us with reservations, gave excellent recommendations, confirmed excursion pickups, and gave a very detailed map to help us navigate the medina. She also gave very helpful tips when it came to getting taxis, negotiating, and other tourist-friendly advice (that I won't share because you need to stay here in order to learn what they are). Breakfast was served every morning, and they even packed us breakfast to go when we had a very early excursion. We had dinner at the riad and it was amazing!!!!! I would 100000% recommend Riad Aguaviva!! Book this Riad TODAY.. I promise you will not be disappointed! Thank you Riad Agugaiva for your amazing hospitality!

My friend and I stayed at Riad Aguaviva for a night. Don’t be fooled by the entrance to the Riad - once you enter, you’ll be welcomed by warm, beautiful decor that makes you feel right at home. We were warmly guided from the drop off point and shown around the riad. We had to leave early in the morning too, to catch a tour and was pleased to find that someone was awake to help us and that they packed breakfast for us too. The room was really comfortable and clean, and the bed was so cosy that it makes it difficult to get out of bed. While the riad is a bit further out from the médina, it was more private in that sense too. Only wish we had more time with Riad Aguaviva.

This fabulous riad is located near Ketchick gate, so away from the bustling part of the medina. Our room, Sultan, was lovely, spacious and was styled with nice local touches. The bathroom with walk-in shower was functional and again reminded that we were in the Medina of Marrakesh. Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace with new offering daily: one day it was a fresh fruit salad (of six fruits), a Moroccan pancake like savoury with pumpkin and curry seasoning, toasted baguette, butter and ham, a chocolate filled crepe, orange juice and coffee. What makes this riad perfect is Jana and the staff. She organised a day trip to Ouarzazate for us, took time to explain the intricacies of the Medina in detail, walked us to the closest point to be dropped by a taxi, then walked with us to the fourth identifier on the wonderful hand drawn map she made, gave us the picture book of the route and a phone in case all else failed. We felt ready to explore. We were impressed that breakfast had been packed for us when we left (early) on our day trip: I think about this often as I still have the orange sac that the food was in – I use it as a carry bag! We had dinner in-house after our trip which was great as it was a long day, so not having to search out a restaurant was good. We dined alone on the terrace. The meal was delicious and the wine the best that we had! Book this the day before you want to dine. There are more decedent and opulent riads but for the best experience, book here. Highly recommend

My partner and I enjoyed a perfect stay at Riad Aguaviva. We were collected from the airport - very reasonable, we’d definitely recommend arranging with the Riad - and delivered to a veritable oasis hidden down an unassuming alleyway. Amin and Jana couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay, from restaurant recommendations to late night tea on the terrace; they even walked us to various waypoints to make sure we knew where we were going and wouldn’t get lost. After a day out in the baking medina, it was a true delight returning to the peace and tranquility of Riad Aguaviva. A cold dip in the pool, followed by sunbathing on the roof terrace was the perfect preparation for a busy night in Jmaa al fnaa square, or a relaxing evening at Aguaviva-recommended Limoni, which is well worth a visit. Breakfasts are delicious and our room (Mapas) was comfortable, clean and unique. The whole Riad is incredibly romantic, and there are so many wonderful little touches like fresh roses in the rooms and rose water in the bathrooms. The staff really couldn’t do enough for us during our visit, and we even had a packed breakfast to see us off on our last morning. We only had three nights at Riad Aguaviva, but we’ll definitely be back for more. Thank you, Riad Aguaviva!

We were welcomed from the moment our taxi dropped us off by Shimon, we were helped with our bags to a short walk (we prearranged airport pick up and at the airport somebody had our riad details of an iPad, it's better to prearrange the taxi will know where to go directly). As you approach the Riad from the hustle and bustle of the Medina you crouch down and walk down what you think is an alley...... Don't worry.....You reach the Riad door and then heaven awaits... Upon arrival at Riad Aguaviva you are made to feel welcome and at home. Jana welcomed us, let us settle and to a lovely glass of Maroccan tea told us about the Riad, how not to get lost in the Medina and how to deal with the locals (especially the young) she told us to feel at home and asked if we were ready to be shown the journey from the left and right of leaving the Riad. Hubby and I were taken to the land marks which was very straight forward (but take careful note of the instructions). Jana will give you maps, a photobook and tell you to download 'Maps Me'. After freshening up we ventured out for a short walk and with Jana's instructions found our way back easily. We stayed for dinner the first night at the Riad it was delicious, relaxed and paddled our feet in the cool riad small pool. The riad has many seating areas from inside the courtyard to the terrace. WiFi is instantly available, there is constant hot water (but be aware anywhere in Morocco you will need to let the hot tap run a good while before it gets hot water). After the first bottle of water is drunk in your riad room which is provided you are able to buy water and soft drinks throughout your stay and order food in advance or ask for pizza delivery as an option for example. Warning be careful when walking around of the motorcycles, bikes, donkeys and cars there is no road rules, each to their own out there it takes getting use too. Also wear sunglasses and avoid eye contact with anybody. Looking lost or asking for directions will cost you money. You will be told to turn left/right etc etc ignore look confident and just walk. Always bring water with you as it's hot hot hot. We had 43 degrees and you will feel it there is no shade within the Medina. Our first adventure ws trying to find Jemaa el fna square.......we found it eventually by sheer luck, the Medina is a massive labyrinth you will get lost guaranteed 😳. The square is defo not for the light hearted be prepared for the intense heat in the square, the noise, the crowd, the sellers and pushing of sellers to buy, if you want to buy haggle etc. It's worth visiting the square during the day and night as you get different sellers etc. It's also cooler at night. We took taxis back as never find our way back lol always get a price first and make sure you get the small taxis they are cheaper. Use Pharmacie Kechish as your landpoint as even taxi drivers will get lost. Back at the Riad, your room is cleaned daily, you are made to always feel welcome and have a chat if your want, they speak English, Spanish and Arabic (no French). Breakfast is amazing and proper filling, we never needed lunch throughout our stay. The rooms all have air con the beds comfy. We had room Bakara with a massive deep stone bath, hubby loved it.

My wife and me visited Marrakech for the first time and weren’t sure what to find. We booked our riad online and after reading the reviews about Aguaviva we decided to book. The result....Amazing ! We got a call the day before we were supposed to travel from Mohammed (the owner of the riad) asking if we needed transport from the airport or train station to the riad, which we agreed upon. I mean how many hotels call you personally and ask if you need any help ??? They waited for us outside the riad and carried our baggage’s in, the place was so welcoming, the little in the centra of the courtyard pool lit up with rose petals floating on the water, incense sticks lit up, mellow music playing and the first words Hannah (Mohammad’s Spanish wife) told us were ‘welcome to your home away from home’. We were treated like royalty, they gave us maps, my wife had a small accident and twisted her ankle so Hannah took us to a pharmacy herself and made sure we got the right medicine and treatment, they explained to us the history of marrakech, places where to visit, how to get there, they even took us to catch our first taxi..... I mean we travel quite a bit and didn’t need all this fuss but they were so happy to treat us. Breakfast is amazing and changes every day, apparently they can cook up an amazing dinner if you ask them. Our room was pretty and clean, a nice sized bathroom with all amenities. All in all, it was a beautiful experience and we would definetely go back. Thank you Hannah and Simo for a wonderful time.

We Have been 8 friends in this Riad. We highlight the characteristic and local atmosphere of the same and the hospitality of its staff, who attended us in great care and cared for us and everything we need from the first moment. Breakfast at the "Terrasse" very remarkable. The smells to incense, candles at night and the petals in the pool are details of which I will always remember. Thank you Very Much En español ¡¡¡¡ Hemos estado 8 amigas en este Riad. Muchas gracias¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

Riad Aguaviva is truly a gem in Marrakech. It is so beautiful and peaceful that it was an excellent resting place from the hustle and bustle of the centre. Everyone at the Riad is very helpful. Loved the way they explained to us how to find the way to Jemaa el-fnaa Square and back as well as the local culture. The breakfast was lovely and they also took care to prepare a packed version as a takeaway for our desert tour, which was very thoughtful. One of the best things at the Riad is the dinner. The dinner has to be booked from a day before since it is authentically slow cooked. It is truly the best dinner we've had during our stay. We only had this once but if I had to do over again I think I would simply have dinner at the Riad every night. The only downside of the Riad is that even with all the explanations of the roads it was still a bit difficult to navigate. We always managed to walk from the hotel to the square however somehow we never managed to make it back on foot. The way by taxi however is generally fine and most taxi drivers are very familiar with the area of the hotel in particular pharmacie kechich. We stayed at the Riad after it was recommend to us and would recommend it any time to anyone going to Marrakech.

It was such a nice stay in Marrakech. Jana and Amin made us feel like home. Thank you both so much for a lovely stay, amazing breakfast and excellent service. Riad was absolutely beautiful: decor of the Mapas room was amazing, rooftop area was really nice. What a lovely stay there! We both with my husband enjoyed every minute of it and could not thank you enough for making us feel so special in every way.

The riad itself is lovely (great decor, lovely rooftop area, very quiet and safe, lovely breakfast which changed daily and was very generous) - but it is the people that made our stay truly memorable. Every element of our communication and stay was managed in an incredibly friendly, professional, personal and helpful way. Nothing was too much trouble, and we trusted all the advice and direction we were given. From arranging our airport transfers, to giving us excellent advice on how to get in and out of the souk etc (they were right - we didn't need a guide), to walking us to our taxis, to actually loaning us cash on the first day until we had a chance to get some local money and pay them back (!!!!) - the team at Aguaviva are exceptional. The area is about a 15-20 minute walk to the souk and it feels safe and vibrant in the day time. Taxis were about 2-3GBP one way - so an easy alternative to walking around. Great maps and guidance. Thank you for making it such a special weekend and making us feel at home away from home.
