The other reviews don’t lie. Fawakay villas is the most welcoming and tranquil setting, perfect for a yoga retreat. The service is so personal that you feel like extended family. The donkeys, dogs, tortoises etc add to the character. The ambiance does include calls to prayer and barking dogs from outside the perimeter. We loved it.

Wow…what can I say. Fawakay is simply amazing and surpassed all of our expectations. We found you by chance as a venue to host our retreat and what a find. Dawn and Francis were amazing from the very start. They’ve helped us so much all the way from booking until the very last moment we left. Nothing was ever too much. The ambience here, the food, the rooms and the staff (Tom & Huzna) were all incredible. We can’t wait to return.

I have just returned from a retreat for 5 days if you get the chance to go to fawakay villas don’t think about it. Just go. From the location the rooms the food the owner dawn and her amazing manager Tom it was perfection. I’m used to travelling all over the world and the service I received here was as good as anything I’ve seen. Both dawn and tom Spent quality time with our group and made us feel part of the family. nothing was to much trouble and whether we were in a fitness class having breakfast, lazing around the pool drinking the first class coffee or celebrating over dinner it was perfect and I would change nothing. A huge thank you to Lina and Victoria for organising it and for dawn and her husband congrats for having the foresight and imagination to come from the uk and build this amazing bespoke and unique resort Russell

Dawn, Francis, Tom, Huzna and all the other wonderful staff at Fawakay really have created a stunning retreat venue. The accommodation is incredible, the food delicious and the venue has the most beautiful shala and rooftop for yoga practice. Pictures just don’t capture the beautiful space and energy!

They were also so helpful with booking taxi’s, guides, hammans and cooking classes etc. as well as accommodating specific student needs and dealing with any issues that arose promptly and efficiently. We’d love to visit again. Nina Whitespace Yoga Studio Manager

I spent a magical six days here in June and will never forget just how gorgeous and relaxing this haven is. I liked that it was tucked away from the city but close enough for a trip. I was fortunate to be in a group of 15, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Everything from the beautifully designed accommodations, super comfortable beds, lovely shower, gels, and mud scrubs, gorgeous surroundings with every nook and cranny, carefully designed, beautiful gathering spaces for our group to learn and laugh, delightful bar, on-site spa to the healthy, fresh and delicious food was exquisite. Norman and Daisy (the donkeys) and the 3 adorable pups gave us plenty of love and giggles. The villa’s team are all courteous, hardworking and lovely. Dawn and Francis are exceptional hosts, super accommodating and great to chat with. They even helped organise a surprise birthday cake for one of our group. There is an on-site gift store if you don’t want to deal with the souk and the prices are great. It was far better than I could have ever hoped for or even imagined. A part of me doesn’t want to let too many others know about this gem;-)

What an AMAZING place, an oasis of peace and tranquility set in beautiful gardens. The two swimming pools were very welcome in the heat and dining alfresco made all the more comfortable by being in the shade. There were lots of places on the site to find shade with others or to be in quiet solitude. The villas are clean, well-appointed and comfortable, the food was brilliant, and the ambiance of the whole place was very special but what made it even more wonderful was the welcome and the way Dawn, Francis and their team looked after us, nothing was too much trouble. They made us all feel like greatly welcomed friends. Everything was done to make life easy, airport transfers, Taxis and guides were organized by Dawn when we wanted to go to the Palace, the Souk and the mountains and spa treatments were available on-site and I thoroughly enjoyed every experience. The trip was a great antidote to my very busy life. I cannot recommend Fawakay Villas highly enough. Loved the rescued donkeys - Norman was a hoot!!!!

We had our wedding at Fawakay Villas in the spring of 2023 and it was an absolute dream. We had never seen it in person before coming, but with so many positive reviews of other weddings at the property, we felt totally safe and in great hands. Fawakay had multiple video calls with us during the planning process and were dedicated to making our wedding an event to remember! When we finally arrived at the venue for the weekend, we were so thrilled. It was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. "Rustic chic" is the perfect word for it. Fawakay is both a country villa and a modern haven. We loved its authentic Moroccan touches and its dedication to environmental sustainability. And all its animals! Heaven. We rented out the entire property so our close family and friends were able to stay at the villa with us for the weekend, and they were similarly blown away. Breakfast each morning at our villas was so delicious and peaceful. The pool area was chic and serene. And the food is INCREDIBLE. So fresh, so satisfying. Everyone who works here is so kind and so accommodating. And it was so easy for them to pop into Marrakech to sight-see whenever they wanted. Dawn and Francis helped us put together an amazing event. We had 80 people flying from all over the globe, and they made sure to organize transportation for everyone no matter where they were staying in Marrakech. They put together beautiful decorations, prepared amazing cocktails, and were invaluable in recommending what would make the best party! They know weddings. And ours was everything we dreamed it would be. We absolutely will return in the future to stay, eat those amazing tagines or tomato and avocado wraps, and nap by the pool. It's a hidden gem in Marrakech, that we would highly recommend to anyone, to stay, or host a party!

My week stay was amazing. The owners Dawn and Frances have created a sacred space that is no less than a Moroccan Paradise. From an on site chef, fresh flowers, to the artistic visual decor. It was a gift to the senses. The hosts became more like old friends happy to accommodate your every wish. From the time we walked off the plane until we left, we were catered too with such ease whether it was a massage, camel ride, Henna, trip to the Souk or the mountains. The grounds were perfect for our retreat, the meals phenomenal, organic juices delicious and the gardens & walkways magical . Hansa the manager and her team were sooo lovely.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Norman the Donkey was great too. This place is destined to be featured in a travel magazine. I Loved everything about it!!!❤️

Staying at Fawakay Villas is a little like spending time with your well-healed, mildly eccentric but very accommodating, fun and hospitable favourite cousin and his wife in their weekend hideaway. The villas, all built in the local vernacular, and thoughtfully designed/developed by the very British Dawn and Francis, are in a walled complex the initial approach to which could make the faint-hearted imagine they’ve been kidnapped. Morocco isn’t Belgravia. But you’ll spot the complex in the distance and at first sight, hope it’s your destination. Happily, that first impression will not prove to have been misleading. Oasis greenery cascades over the walls and signifies something special awaiting your presence. Once through the gate and on the driveway, you’re greeted by lush lawns, the shade of palm trees and Hassna. Hassna, the Arabic for, ‘beauty’, should also translate to, ‘She who takes care of you’. She seemed omnipresent and was brilliantly attentive, as were the rest of the local team. The villas are well spaced throughout the 3.5 acres, so at night, all you’ll hear will be the mating call of frogs and prayer emanating from minarets at particular times, some early morning, drifting over the warm air. You’ll either think it sounds beautiful or at first you might be annoyed. Remember, this is Morocco. Either way, you’ll quickly get used to it and will likely feel enchanted. It won’t be a problem for most, except those who expect the world to revolve around them. We stayed in a truly spacious 4-bedroom villa, (there were eight of us), two of which are suites on the ground floor; on the first, there are two large double bedrooms (ideal if you have small children). All rooms are en-suite with showers. One of the bedrooms upstairs also has a bathroom. Expect designer chic created often imperfectly but tastefully by hand rather than the sterile flatness and factory uniformity of, say, a Hilton. Beds with cotton sheets and soft pillows. A wood fire in the living room, lit for you at night if it’s chilly. There are a few smaller yurt-style but solidly-built luxurious rooms too for single-family occupation. Your hosts have excellent local knowledge. Francis in particular will patiently advise and organise friendly drivers to take you to the Atlas Mountains or famous gardens or wherever. Jemaa el-Fna and the Souks are the go-to destinations for the bustling cultural experience of a lifetime. I wrote this review in the shade, recumbent on one of the numerous sunbeds near the pool. Just as it would be in a family home, the hosts and other guests chat over a drink. The pool keeps the young ones happy. We keep an eye on them and occasionally take a dip too. Norman the donkey wonders around and if a room’s door is open - no need for keycards here - he’s apparently been known to investigate inside. This is the place for supreme relaxation. Few rules. Welcoming to children - they even have their own play/video room. Come here, and enjoy peace, freshly cooked local food, a well-stocked bar and sunshine if that’s what you’re looking for, just go!
