Dar Mo’da with its four exclusive suites is a blend of the magic of the orient and the comforts of the west, making you feel right at home in the fascinating heart of Marrakech. Located just a few minutes walk from the Jamaa El Fna Square in the historical quarter of Mouassine, in the heart of the Medina, Dar Mo’da is a traditional morrocan riad which has been restored with a delicate combination of local and italian decors.

Dar Mo’da is probably the best place you can stay whilst in Marrakech. The riad itself is so peaceful, stylish and comfortable, beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. The staff are so welcoming, it felt like there was nothing too much trouble for them to make our stay perfect. The location in the heart of the medina, was of course incredibly convenient, but the tranquility here felt like you entered another place, once you walked through the doors. All in all, a highly recommended place to stay - the room, the breakfasts, the sun terrace, the complimentary mint tea, and of course our wonderful host Mounaim, I would struggle to find any fault with Dar Mo’da.

Excellent and beautiful Riad! Very attentive straff that went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one😊. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. You could not hear the buzzy and noisy streetlife just outside our door. Roof top to die for!!!!!!

Dar Mo’da is a very lovely place to stay in the Medina of Marrakesh. The location couldn’t be better- right across from the Secret Garden with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. Fresh flowers and fruit were brought to the room. The public spaces were lovely and comfortable although with so much to see in town, we didn’t linger at the hotel a lot. Breakfast was served on the upstairs terrace and it was delicious and plentiful- fresh orange juice, freshly baked bread, fruit, jams and eggs done as requested. The staff was very helpful; carrying our bags up and down the steep stairs, greeting us at the door. Our host, Mo, was perfect- making suggestions and reservations for us, arranging massages…. His demeanor is very calming, competent and confident. We renewed the entire hotel (5 rooms) and felt like we had a small, personal palace in the center of Marrakesh. My only hesitation in writing this review is that I don’t want Dar M’oda to become too popular and difficult to book for our next trip!

There are many wonderful riads in Marrakech and from the reviews, everyone loves theirs. And you probably can’t go terribly wrong. But based on our four wonderful nights at Dar Mo'da, here's why you should stay here, too. Location: It’s in the Mouassine area, arguably the nicest part of the medina, across from the Secret Garden (makes it easy to find your way back). It’s just one turn from the Dar Bacha entrance where taxis do drop offs, which makes it easy to go to Le Jardin Majorelle, train station, other points beyond the medina, etc.  An easy, 5-10 minute walk to Jemaa El Fnaa depending on the time of day (and how much looking you do). Quiet elegance: The furnishings are Moroccan, including some beautiful antique pieces and contemporary ones, too, but there’s an understated, highly curated touch to everything. And yet it’s very comfortable. We chatted with one of the other guests who had a chance to see some of riads his colleagues were staying at and said that Dar Mo’da was the nicest while still being “homey.” The linens are excellent, the bed is comfortable, fluffy towels (towel warmer), and the house soaps and lotions smell so yummy. They have their own hammam: I was all set to do the authentic communal hammam and then I remembered that I hated shared bathing facilities in college, but the fancy hotels were far, expensive, and reviews were mixed. Dar Mo’da made it easy by having their own heated marble table right downstairs and can bring someone in to do the hammam, plus they’ll book a massage in your room to top it off. Views: It seems like they have the highest riad terrace in this part of the medina, so you can get 360 sunrise/sunset views of the Atlas Mountains. Privacy: With just 5 rooms/suites, it’s truly an oasis. They have two pools, one downstairs and one on the roof, which you will want after a hot, dusty day of touring. You can have breakfast on the roof terrace or in the dining room (or probably in your room on on your room’s terrace if you want). Staff: Where stepping through the doors of Dar Mo'da is like stepping into an oasis from the hustle & bustle of the medina, Mounaim himself is an island of serenity. He and his and his team are as kind and helpful as you could ever want and tailor the level of help to your comfort level. I really enjoyed our conversations and had great laughs with Mohamed trying to learn a few phrases in Arabic.

What a wonderful stay we have had at the beautiful Riad Dar Mo’da. The hospitality has been outstanding and the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the souks. From the moment we arrived until we left, we felt like we were staying in a family home. We were picked up from the airport and transferred in a very comfortable car to the entrance of the souks. From there, our luggage was transported to the riad for us as cars cannot access the narrow lanes. The whole property is immaculately maintained and our room was beautiful. It was a tranquil sanctuary away from the beautiful chaos of Marrakech. The AC was superb, but the private terrace gave us the opportunity to enjoy some shaded warmth in the morning. Hamida was so accommodating and organised everything we wanted to do during our stay. She arranged a sunrise hot air balloon ride which was organised to perfection and she ordered tickets to see the Majorelle Garden and YSL Museum. I wanted to try a traditional hammam, but had concerns about the lack of privacy in the tourist hammams. I was therefore delighted that the riad has their own Hammam which was one to one and a wonderful experience. Following the hammam scrub, both myself and my husband had a 60 minute massage which had been set up in the bedroom. It was a beautiful delight in the comfort of my own home away from home. I definitely recommend the Hammam and massage. As we were so relaxed after the massage, we ate in the riad on that night. It was a traditional 3 course Moroccan feast and truly delicious. Hamida booked us in to restaurants for evening meals on the other nights, all of which were fabulous. After our 3 night stay at Dar Mo’do we were travelling on to Agadir and Hamida organised that transfer for us. It was a lovely comfortable journey. If you are coming to Marakech I can’t recommend Dar Mo’do highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

There aren't enough words to describe the beautiful Riad Dar Mo'da. I must have searched 150 riads before landing on Dar Mo'da, and I'm beyond grateful we chose to stay here. From the airport pickup, to the welcoming we received (mint tea and snacks), to the beautifully designed room, to the decor and layout of the riad itself, to the superb breakfasts on the terrace each morning; this place was perfection. Our room was ALWAYS clean - even if we had only left for an hour or so, with fresh towels, toiletries and fruit waiting for our arrival. The terrace and pool were stunning, with some of the best breakfast we had while in Marrakesh being served. The Riad itself was unbelievably quiet and peaceful and was a great contrast to the hustle and bustle as soon as you step outside; we quite literally forgot that we were staying in the middle of the Souks while we were inside. The interior is maintained to perfection (it has a modern feel while remaining true to its Moroccan roots), and the room, overlooking the pool below, was something out of a magazine. The location is perfect. You are a less than 5 minute walk to Dar El Bacha (for taxi pickups, restaurants outside of the souk, excursions, etc.), or if you prefer to get lost in the souks themselves they are quite literally outside of your door. There are also great restaurants very close by (just ask Hafida and she will point you in the right direction), and there is never a lack of things to do. Marrakesh is beautiful and it is an experience like no other. And that brings me to, of course, my Moroccan mom and dad!! Hafida and Houssine are truly some of the most wonderful people you will meet. Hafida took care of EVERYTHING (dinner reservations, recommendations, going over maps, safety tips, etc.) and Houssine always ensured we got to and from where we needed, safely. This is a truly elevated experience of class and customer service that should not go unnoticed. It was a first for myself to have experienced such an outstanding experience with our hotel. They truly have your best interest at hand and assure you are happy, relaxed and safe during your stay. Marrakesh would not have been half as beautiful had it not been for Riad Dar Mo'da, Hafida and Houssine.

This was an absolutely incredible stay. The location is perfect, located in the old town, in the middle of all the major attractions. The hotel itself is very clean, very well decorated, rooms are beautiful, and hospitality is above and beyond wonderful. Hafida and her team made us feel at home, helped us with everything at all times, and we almost cried saying goodbye. This will be your home away from home, and a reason alone to come back to Marrakech.

We stayed in the Riad for 3 nights. A very beautiful place with special and beautiful rooms. The service was exellant , The staff gives a close family feeling and helps to make the stay in the Riyad ,and in general in Marrakesh, exceptionally pleasant. Worthy of special mention is the manager of the place, Hafida, who was kind, patient and helped us a lot with a pleasant smile and amazing service. At every opportunity we will return and recommend staying at this special place.
