Hotel's Favourite

My husband wanted to celebrate my birthday in a special way. He asked if I wanted to go to Oberoi Vanyavillas as I only like to stay with Oberoi group of hotels and resorts. But Vanyavillas was a long way. We had an email about Oberoi Marrakech and Avi decided to exercise that option.
Generally all the Oberoi team members are very good, but here it was a way beyond expectations.
We had the team of members who came to receive us as soon as we arrived.
Nishal
Khalid
Chef Anand Singh
Mamdouh (the Egyptian pharoah) a nickname so I don’t forget. They all came to greet us as if we were members of the royal family. (which is true as my Great Great Grandmother was a princess of Vaso Village in Gujarat)
We had the first Moroccan tea.
We were given an option to chose between a villa or a deluxe room, which I didn’t expect.
Khalid took us around to see the villa and also explained all the amenities, wished me Happy Birthday in advance as it was his day off on the actual day. Another day he was willing to open the Tijori on an odd time for me. What a service. The Harrods in London used to open their place exclusively for The Queen. (it reminded me of that gesture from Khalid)
The other surprise was in our room. My husband’s profile picture is of our Grandson and wow we saw a beautiful framed picture of Aadityah and a lovely welcoming note from the Management Team. A complete way above expectation, adding value to the service.
Now what can I say about The Tamimt:
Usually I am always skeptical about whether I will be able to get a good vegetarian meal abroad. When booking the hotel, I did see Indian thali on the menu and I thought I will get a bland thali but at least it would be vegetarian. I was wrong,
Anand The Indian chef was introduced to us by Nishal.
And we were spoilt by the extra effort he took to make us a variety of Indian cuisine. He would ask us in advance what would we like for breakfast, lunch and dinner a day before. It was like from home to home.
We had bateta poha, dhosa, aloo paratha, thali with so many varieties of curries. And how can I forget the delicious Gajar Halwa. Once we had eaten a lot during lunch and decided not to have anything for dinner. The door bell rang in the evening and Moustaffa brought us some bhelpuri, now how could we refuse that?Mustafa said that we didn’t see you downstairs for dinner and thought you would be hungry. This was a very kind gesture by Anand, to go that extra mile to please us. He said that Indians love their chats and I mentioned that bhelpuri was one of my favorites.
We had unlimited supply of bottled water together with hot lemon, ginger infusion and honey for my husband’s cough and cold.
May I also thank all the kind and smiling team of Tamimt who were so kind and caring.
Yassine
Laila, wants us to come back again.
Abdelaadim
Karima (two Karimas)Karima who said good bye in the morning and wants us to come back and stay here for a month.
Ayuob
Adil
Sara
Jalal
Ouabain
El Habib, the masala chai was very good. Thank you.
Imane, thank you for your special touch. You noticed my cardigan had fallen on the floor and placed it in the right place.
Thank you to all who made our vacation so special. Also to the kitchen team who were busy preparing meals for us.
Nishal made us feel at home, someone who speaks Hindi, French, English, and many other languages. I was so happy to hear Hindi from him. Also other thing I noticed about him was his relations with the hotel guests. He was so natural. Speaking to each and every guest. Also no job was too big or small for him. He also helped serving and communicating with the chefs. It reminded me of us both (me and my Husband) working in the Pharmacy and looking after each customer, children, adults or elderly. Even after retirement, people still miss us. Some places, some people they set a beautiful memory and moments in your life.
On Nishal’s day off, he would ring us to make sure we were ok. A trip to Mount Atlas, we would get a phone call from Nishal to see everything was ok?
My husband was ill and developed a cough and cold. (Didn’t expect Marrakesh to be so cold) He thought he should have it checked by the doctor, in case of bacterial infection. Nishal and the Hotel team organized a doctor and prescribed medication was delivered to our room in no time by Ahmed.
Mamdouh, another brilliant member of the team. He would come and greet us with so much respect. We were going to the mountain area, and he organized a picnic with sandwiches and fruit and also thought of packing two pashminas in case it is too cold. These finer touches made us very well looked after. The Oberoi team goes way beyond their duties to help their guests. The guests are their family.
May I mention Moustaffa from the room service team. He made a special onion and garlic infused olive oil for my husband to have, a natural remedy to help shift the catarrh. He is such a wonderful human being. Thank you so much for your kind and caring gesture.
Another thing we noticed was when you walk around the hotel and if a hotel member is driving a buggy, they would stop, come out and greet us, instead of driving pass.
We had booked two Spa experiences for both of us. We have been to a few, but I was extremely pleased by the ladies who gave us a thorough massage. Very focused and worked enthusiastically to give us the best treatment. Whenever they needed to speak, they whispered in your ear. The massage therapists were:
Hakima
Youssra
Mina
Fatima
Thank you ladies for your dedication in your work.
Zaki
Siham
Yasmine
Thank you for giving us a warm welcome at the Spa and there was another gentleman, a plum person who showed us around the Spa. It is very important to show people around, who are not very familiar with the equipments and where all the other facilities are situated. This kind person explained everything to us. Including the activities which take place every day.
My husband had booked a birthday celebration at the Banquet of Hoshena. Bit skeptical, not knowing what we were heading for. The experience was brilliant. We were greeted at the bar with a mocktail, and there after escorted to the dinning area/theater. The vegetarian dinner was outstanding, a fusion of Indian and Moroccan ingredients. Absolutely outstanding. The icing on the cake was a surprise cake baked by the chef and a beautiful creation of birthday celebrations. May I thank Oussama for looking after us so well and making my birthday, one of the most special day. Anand for making one of my favorite starters, Panni Puri.
And the Moroccan Chef (sorry for not remembering your name) for making a very delicious, healthy dinner.
The next day I came to know that Marousne had arranged the banquet. Thank you v much.
Soufianne
Mohammed Amine
Azar
Joseph
and the ladies
Thank you for making our room tidy everyday and making our stay very enjoyable.
One other person I forgot to take his name was a very humble and kind man who decorated our room with petals of roses and wished me Happy Birthday on Friday morning the 3rd of February. Unfortunately I couldn’t thank him properly as I was on a long distance call.
One other thing that touched me was, like in Vanyavillas, all our charging cables were tied with velcro, so thoughtful. And the rooms were all made up while we were away having breakfast or dinner. Another person would come and check if the rooms were done for the evening. I carry my idols with me when I travel, I noticed, like in Vanyavillas my prayer place was decorated with rose petals. In Vanyavillas every morning my idols got a special flower. What a beautiful gesture. It reminded me of my stay in Vanyavillas. (I still remember the hospitality of Ratana Devi).
I found the stay in Hotel Marrakech very relaxing. From the gallery, the sun rose from the east and I could offer the prayers to Suryanarayan and also listen to the beautiful prayers, Azan from the mosque. A very pure atmosphere. I found that the Hotel has a variety of people working. They were all very kind, humble, extremely polite and very eager to do their best. I wish this was possible in every place. May I also thank The Concierge Team for looking after us. Ahamad for getting us the medication from the Pharmacy, booking taxis for us. Sameer for booking excursions. Salmane for sorting out our Netflix channel.
Thank you Oberoi Marrakech for your gift, the bottle of extra virgin oil from the Gardens of Oberoi Marrakech. I will cherish the bottle forever as the label has the beautiful view of the garden.
Thank you Oberoi Marrakesh for such a wonderful experience to remember till the end. And finally if we have missed any names, it was not intentional. Everyone was wonderful.

Oberoi Marrakech - a wonderful experience!
We had the pleasure of staying for 1 night in the deluxe villa with a private pool.
The pool was a good size and the outdoor terrace had sunloungers and was beautiful and private.
The room itself was very spacious with a separate dressing area, walk in wardrobe and a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath tub.
The hotel is situated about 15 mins from the Medina and away from all the hustle and bustle in its own private secluded area with beautiful gardens and pools.
The staff were very attentive and exemplary, especially Rohan who engaged with us regularly to make sure we had a memorable stay.
We also met Fabien the general manager who also was very friendly and helpful.
There are two main restaurants and a poolside bar that also offers lunch. As well as this there is a lovely relaxed bar with a terrace and live music. The food was spectacular with a wide variety of international cuisine including Indian, French and traditional Morrocan.
The spa was very peaceful and serene and again the staff were always on hand to make our experience that bit more special. The lady that showed us around was very accommodating and did her utmost to facilitate our needs given the short duration of our stay. There is a traditional Morrocan hamman which provides a private session for individuals or couples, a large indoor pool, gym, sauna, steam room, yoga studio and an out door relaxation area which is the perfect spot to view the sunset.
Having been fortunate enough to have stayed at some outstanding hotels we would say that this one stands out as one of the best!

This property is a real gem in Marrakech, from the moment you walk in, you're amazed from the architecture, the hospitality, the level of service, the drawn smile of all of the personel, the genuine willing to do, the kindness of everyone and of course the comfort of the suites.

The gardens are well maintained, the space around the hotel amazes you, it's is very relaxing to walk around, appreciate nature and enjoy the stunning views of the Atlas mountains.

The spa, gym, indoor pool separate building is a piece of art itself, a must stop during your stay, specially if you're looking to relax and forget the outside world.

A real memorable stay at the Oberoi Marrakech, Thank You!

What makes this hotel stand out is the service.

It was truly excellent. We were celebrating mine and my daughter’s birthday and they went above and beyond to ensure it was special. Firstly we were upgraded to the presidential suite partly due to a cleaning issue in our original room which was rectified quickly with a series of other rooms offered. Secondly, our room was decorated for both birthdays and we also were serenaded with happy birthday on both birthdays by the staff at breakfast and dinner and given complementary cakes.

They could not do enough for our two year and even made a tent for her to play in in our room. We borrowed bikes to cycle around the grounds- the place is massive. The size of the hotel and grounds means in the quiet season it can lack atmosphere and intimacy but the hotel is stunning and looks like a palace.

The location is about 20 mins from the centre and a taxi is 200 MAD one way which does add up. They provided a car seat for our toddler which was great but a regular free shuttle would be good.

The restaurants are expensive ie basically London prices but the quality is great so worth it. The breakfasts are exceptional, it’s all from a menu rather than buffet which I really liked as it was a much higher standard than other hotels and there are all sorts of different options, there’s no lack of variety.

The pools were heated and even in Jan, our suite’s pool was warm enough to swim in. The indoor spa pool was a bit too cold for me though as was the public outdoor pool.

If you want a more intimate personal hotel that is near the city centre then this isn’t for you. If you want grand, palace style, secluded, quiet hotel, excellent service, and are not bothered by taxi fees and relatively pricey dinners then this is for you.

We have stayed at the Oberoi in January 2022, my wife, daughter and I for three nights. In this review, I will not mention the beautiful location / gorgeous views / architecture / nature which are obviously emphasized in other reviews, but rather focus on the best client experience I've ever had in a hotel in Morocco.

First of all, I would like to express our greatest thanks and gratitude to all the Hotel staff who has made the impossible possible to make our stay agreeable.

All the employees were kind, caring and accurately devoted to ease and satisfy any of our needs with a kindred heart and a total a genuine simplicity.

It would be difficult to recall all the names, however I can remember of Mr Rohan - General Manager, Mr Mamdouh Room Division Manager, Mrs Fatima and Mr Taha at the restaurant, Mr Hassan the Night Manager, Mr Adnane, Mr Imad and Mrs Fatima who were in charge of the housekeeping, Mr Smail, the fleuriste.

All these persons made our stay unforgettable and definitively make us feel that the Oberoi is definitively the best Hotel in Morocco on par with the highest international standards we have experienced in foreign countries such as France, USA and Austria..

I came to learn that the Hotel's employees get trained by Oberoi's private school : well done ! This original approach is the right one and this is what is needed in Morocco to improve the QOS in all companies, my compatriots are capable of the best when they are properly trained.

This whole experience confirms again to me of the quote of the French philosopher Jean Bodin who said: "there is no wealth but of men".

If I dared to be picky... a small downside would be the prices of the restaurant "à la carte" which are perhaps a bit expensive for food afficionados like us, I think that reducing the price of the dishes by 20% would make these prices more in line with those of existing gourmet restaurants in Morocco with which the food can easily be compared, especially the Indian, Moroccan and French food which were really DELICIOUS. Otherwise the menu price is reasonable.

I used the Fitness center which is complete, found out that the jumping ropes were not at the level they should with the rest of the equipment, maybe, adding a couple Olympic lifting bars and bumpers could be a nice upgrade as well as some heavier kettlebells.

We enjoyed a free upgrade to a villa with heated swimming pool which we used and enjoyed ! The French TV channels which were not working at the time of our arrival were quickly fixed by the Hotel Manager who instructed his IT staff to install an Ip-tv solution in our room.

As a summary : this is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing and invigorating break !

The rooms are absolutely spectacular. Very high ceilings, very large and exceptionally large bathrooms with showers also leading to the terrace with a private pool. The dining experience was also phenominal as the outdoor courtyard is stunningly beautiful and the large variety of exceptional food with great local wine pairings. The food and beverage managers were fantastic taking very close care of our children's nut allergies. The extremely friendly and helpful staff made it an unforgettable stay.

We visited as a family of 6 for 3 nights staying in the delightful deluxe pool villas. We arrived at day 35 of the hotel’s opening and we received a very warm and accommodating reception headed by Deputy General Manager Rohan (who was incredible throughout our stay) showing us the facilities with his team and making us feel very welcome.

The hotel provided a serene setting away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, however given the hotel’s location, it would benefit from providing a shuttle service to and from the centre.

The spa was fabulous. The rooms were lovely but small nuances could be improved. The breakfast, food, menu and restaurant choices don’t quite match the standard that Oberoi prides itself on.

All the staff we came across were most pleasant, especially Samir, El Mahdi and Yasir. The general manager however did not greet us, which was odd.

Highly recommend for those wanting to see the city but with a relaxing setting for their stay.

Me and my 6 friends had a pleasant 2nights stay this January 2021 at the Oberoi Hotel and everything was great from the time we start to plan our trip . Mrs Jihane Mansouri , the director Mr Fabien Gastinel , Mrs Yasmine …are answering emails in very short time and paying high attentions to the small details which make us feel safe and relaxed to book the trip during hard period in which the pandemic Covid-19 has frighten the world .

The design of the hotel is closer to that of a palace, inspired by the Islamic school of Marrakech and the Alambra in Spain, and is well located at the palmary of Marrakech.

Upon entering the villa, the nice word from the Director and his team, the flower petals, the special decoration, varied chocolate and the birthday cake…were very touching . The villa was clean and big, with private heated pool and the view of the Atlas Mountains was unbelievable & implausible.

The hospitality and service team were truly friendly, professional and world class and put the property on the top-tier of global hotels. Our breakfast at the al fresco terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains was TOP and of excellent quality and the staff were all very attentive and responsive .
The spa is also superb, combining contemporary design and Moroccan influence.

There is so much great things to say about this hotel, and in general we have enjoyed our stay tremendously. I can say , the hotel is a true haven of peace nestled within twenty five acres of citrus orchards and centuries old olives groves , oranges tress … I want to thank also the gardener Hassan for the explanation he gives us about the plants also for the 2 small branches plants he offers me and which I have planted in my home terrace .

If you want a holiday that can be both relaxing and busy, with excellent food , a great hotel villa with brilliant staff than this should be the hotel you choose.

The hotel setting is breathtaking! The staff are absolutely lovely and willing to go above and beyond to ensure that you enjoy your stay - Fatima and Jalal were always very welcoming at breakfast.

This review is to help others who may be wheelchair dependent to consider the Oberoi Marrakech as a possible holiday destination.

The grounds are flat and very easy to get around, there was not anywhere in the hotel grounds that was inaccessible. We stayed in room 308, a villa with a private pool. The room is huge and I had no problems getting around. The only thing I would change for my next visit would be to ask the hotel staff to remove the rugs for the duration of the stay. The very comfortable bed was a reasonable height and easy to transfer onto using a sliding board. The bathroom is a reasonable size, no issues getting around. It had a separate toilet which was higher than average, so those who transfer may struggle a little (not sure of the height) but there is enough room to position your wheelchair next to the toilet. If you use a commode/shower chair make sure to take a commode pan as my commode/shower chair did not fit over the toilet. Entrance into the large shower cubicle was reasonably easy, it does have a tiny curved threshold which was very easy to push over. The shower is equipped with a shower stool - can’t comment on this as I used a self propelling shower chair, the only issue I think you may have if using the shower stool is making sure the adjustable shower head is at a reasonable height. There is a fixed shower head as well and the power is amazing but if you’re using the shower stool you would not be able to use this.

The villa pool outside is not heated so the water is quite cold. There is no hoist or ramp to get into the pool so unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to use this. Maybe the Oberoi may consider making a few changes to make the pool accessible?

Looking to escape Casablanca for a long weekend and celebrate my wife's birthday, we decided (my wife, son, and I) to travel to Marrakesh and were delighted to discover the Oberoi. From the moment of our arrival, the hospitality and graciousness of all the staff won us over. Hotel Management, Mr. Rohan and Mr. Mamdouh, stood at the ready with smiles and mint tea to welcome us. We had booked a terrace room but were placed into two villas, one for my wife and me, the other for my son. Each with a plunge pool. From the excellent concoctions from the Vue Bar's Mixologist Rashid to the exquisite meals at Tamimt to the diligent care from staff at the children's activity center-which satisfied my son's PlayStation fix, everything was perfect.
Such a wonderful weekend was capped off with a gourmet meal cooked at our villa-waiters prepared and waited on us at a table set with the most delicious fare all prepared by the chef poolside. My family raved about the service and the food- a very magical moment. Also, we highly recommend the Spa and their true desire to provide quality service. I would also like to thank the Concierge for organizing an exemplary tour of the Medina with our excellent guide Hatim! With the Oberoi's lush orchards and immaculate grounds, it is easy to relax amidst beauty and be swept away by the Atlas mountains as a backdrop. We will be calling the Oberoi our home in Marrakesh for many years to come.

Dear Mr. Adrian M, We are delighted to read your beautiful comments following your recent stay at the Oberoi, Marrakech. Since you alluded to the quality of the welcoming of Mr. Mamdouh and Mr. Rohan as well at the service, the blend of Moroccan hospitality and the kindness of our staff are the first values that we have the pleasure to share with our customers. We are happy to read that your experience went well from the bar experience with Rachid and the dinner in the villa, to the spa or the concierge services. We are most importantly glad that your son has found the facilities he likes at the children’s activity centre who are the first ones to be in the heart of our concerns. And last but not the least, we especially hope that your wife had a memorable birthday We will be honoured to welcome you back in your second home. Best regards, Fabien Gastinel General Manager

They have a good Moroccan, but I liked the main restaurant even better - same space with the breakfast. They have a European menu and it’s delicious
