Staying two nights here was an aesthetic experience. Owner John has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to renovate the Riad not only to a high comfortable standard but also to give visitors a taste of the artistry of Moroccans as it is filled with works from local artisans.Service is very pleasant and breakfast on the tiny roof terrace...

Our visit to Marrakech was made even more memorable by our stay at the fantastic Riad Hikaya. The information and tips provided by owner John on arrival (over a glass of Morrocan tea) were absolutely priceless and definitely contributed to our fabulous stay. In fact John and Jane were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The Riad itself was like a...

Lisa and I are only halfway through our four day break and felt the need to write this review, of course we will update at the end. Looking for a hotel or Riad in Marrakech can be quite daunting when you have never visited before. I came across the Riad Hikaya by chance when searching, read the reviews, checked out...

A charming and peaceful Riad. From word dot we were in good hands; welcoming and wonderful throughout, the staff looked after us beautifully. The Riad is full of character and ideal for seeing all the many sights of Marrakech. On arrival we were met by John who spoke of history, culture and where to visit as well as eating out,...

Charming small riad, atmospheric and quirky, highly decorated in Moroccan style by British owner, who offers great advice about sightseeing, shopping and eating out. The young front of house staff are very friendly and helpful. Good food to order, nice breakfast on rooftop terrace, indoor courtyard pool.

A beautiful jewel of a riad lovingly restored by the English owner. Located in a safe quiet area near the palace but with in close walker no distance to the sights. Wonderful staff, attention to detail, great food, nothing too much trouble. The rooms are exquisite. Such a wonderful place.

A small (8 rooms) beautiful guest house with wonderful and friendly atmosphere. The rooms are all individually designed in Moroccan style, very cosy and inviting. Rooms are all situated round the inner court yard. The roof terrace is lovely. Service and staff is no less than excellent, with an extremely friendly and personal approach. The owner is a British expat...

Had the most incredible stay at the Riad Hikaya. From the gorgeous rooms, pool and rooftop, to the amazing staff (the kindest, most hard working and caring women), we could not have asked for a more perfect experience. We also had a great conversation with the owner who took a lot of time to explain to us the ins and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Riad Hikaya is a luxury boutique hotel located in the royal quarter of the medina, called the 'Kasbah', and only an easy walk from the main square, Jemaa al Fnaa, and the city's other famous landmarks. It took three years of meticulous restoration by local craftsmen and artisans, employing both age old techniques and materials, to transform the riad into what it is today. The two roof terraces, planted with orange, lemon, grapefruit and pomegranate trees, offer superb, open views onto the snow capped Atlas mountains. Guests are welcome to eat in our 'Café Des Epices'or on one of our roof terraces to make the most of the view.Included in the room rate:• Moroccan/Continental breakfast• Remote controlled air conditioning and heating for the cooler months• Fresh fruit & mineral water• Fresh flowers• "Sens de Marrakesh" toiletries• Babouche - his and hers• Flat screen tv / satellite channels• Nightly turn down service with rose petals• Ipod docking station• Free wifi internet access ... more   less
