Super cool vibe at this Riad. Deep, rich colors and antique furniture mix together in a lovely way. My “large “ room was huge and had fun light fixtures and accessories. Moody is great, but there are times we need more light. I think it would be good to have lights by the bed that have a switch to bright. Overall the room was just too dark. Rooftop restaurant and bar are gorgeous. Food was good, service was ok. Very loud and busy place till around 10:30 and the noise reverberated around the Riad walls. The boutique has really special, high quality items.

We really felt pampered from arrival to departure. On the rooftop Jimmy went beyond his duties to make us feel welcome, at the spa the ladies were amazing and the room was just the best we ever stayed in, the bed and shower were top. We will definitely come back El Fenn!! ☺️

Although the staff is very nice, this hotel is so full of itself. The interior is chic but somehow just doesn't cut it. Maybe it just has gotten too big- supposedly when it was small it was great. Now it is just a very expensive place to stay, very meh. AND NOISY- the first night it was a crying baby at 4am, the 2nd night a huge fight on the roof terrace that continued outside, the 3 rd night someone smoking a cigar ( smelled in my room-whew!) and talking loudly all night. You can hear the people around you snore and fart! And the food is very mediocre. At breakfast the yogurt is watery, the fruit seems like it was cut up last week, the bread just okay. I would not choose this place again.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, and we sincerely apologise for the challenges you faced during your stay. We appreciate your compliments on our staff's friendliness and chic interior. However, we deeply regret the inconveniences caused by noise disturbances and the perceived decline in the overall experience. Your comments are invaluable, and we will investigate these issues to make necessary improvements. We do shut down the roof terrace at 11pm to minimise any noise disruption to guests and as we are on the edge of the medina, you will sometimes hear noise that sounds as though it is within the hotel but in fact it can be from a couple of blocks away. We appreciate the proximity to a busy night time environment in the city is not for everyone.

We’ve been to Morocco before but had never been to El Fenn. Everything was wonderful for one simple reason … Mohamed the breakfast and lunch attendant was absolutely amazing, best hospitality and attention to detail. Made us and everyone around us feel like VIP’s, Thank you very much Mohamed, you are the reason we will soon come back to your beautiful hotel and restaurant.

We went here before, but now it really became a money making machine. What a pitty. We booked a third room for our daughter for the non-refundable rate as we already booked our plane tickets. Two days later she seemed to have a passport problem. We alerted them but they said we booked without refund so we had to pay anyways. Which is their full right of course legally but so not client friendly. It was 2 days later, they could have made a gesture toward us, but they choose not to. So we had to pay the full amount for the room including breakfast, while nobody there. So I asked them to show me the room we paid for. They showed me a very dark, dusty and noisy room at the side of the street. (I wonder if they ever put clients in here for that amount). Make sure you never book this room. Ask them, because you pay a lot of money for it. In the end they never made a gesture, so I asked them myself if we could have a hamam treatment then at least. And they did give this to us. It was 1 lady treating 2 people so when she treated 1 the other one was cold. Not recommendable either.

My experience at el Fenn was mixed at best. On the positive side, the public space and private rooms were beautiful and loads of fun. The front desk staff were quite courteous and helpful. However, on the negative side, the waitstaff at both the rooftop terrace and the breakfast terrace were appalling - we had to ask several times for menus, our food & drink, cutlery etc. The staff were incredibly rude and incompetent. After asking three times and waiting 15 minutes for our morning coffee, one of our party had to go to the kitchen to get it. When it did arrive it was cold and undrinkable. The bedrooms, while handsome, are way too dark - they need additional lighting. The 12minute airport transfer (€50) was ridiculous. I had a much nicer time the previous week at a nearby Riad at ¼ the price. El Fenn was a huge disappointment.

We arrived last night at around 9 pm for a drink and supper . We found the place right on the edge of the medina , we walked past it initially as it looked like a boutique shop , it looked fun though . We climbed the stairs and emerged onto a beautiful top floor bar restaurant . Not busy at all but there were many staff dressed in red were buzzing around . We walked around the terrace for a while . After a few more minutes we decided to approach a red coat to see if we could get a table . They duly found us a seat in the bar We were given a drinks list and a menu , but the menu was bar snacks and wanted supper so we asked if we could have a table in the restaurant and they said it was fine . So we ardered wine . After a glass or two we asked to be seated at our table . Our red coat went off and came back with someone dressed in green . He told us the restaurant was closed at 10 pm ( it was 930) so no food . So we sat there like a pair of fools and finished our wine while we worked out what do . The bill for the wine came . They must have thought they had done quite well as the service charge had already been added on . We bid them all a good night and walked out into the dark street . We found a very nice place in the medina that was open !

Fabulous riad in the middle of the Medina. Staying in the Medina was the highlight of our trip. The riad was cosy, our medium sized room was a good size and there was a fireplace which the staff would light upon our request. We were surprised how quiet it was and I didn’t need earplugs to sleep, although I did need them when we moved to La Mamounia a few days later. We arrived at El Fenn and were taken by foot to the main entrance where we were greeted by a roaring fire, two cats curled up on armchairs and a very helpful receptionist showed us to our room, giving us a tour of the riad on the way. The food was excellent, and the breakfast was a wonderful mix of Moroccan dishes as well as a continental breakfast. The riad was staffed by well trained Moroccan staff, who feel like a family. I loved that the riad supports local industries and nearly everything from the plates to the toiletries is local. The recommendations in the El Fenn magazine were excellent, so when we did venture out of the hotel, we tried the restaurants recommended and were delighted by the recommendations. The hotel recommended Hanane, an excellent Moroccan guide, who took us to a tour of the old Medina where she showed us artisans, shops and answered all our questions. I had a massage at the spa and it was excellent. The food in the restaurants was also very good. If you are looking to experience authentic Marrakech, don’t hesitate to stay here.

A New Year’s Eve fiasco. A meltdown in service, and in the kitchen . Food late, cold and overcooked .Pasta was so cold it had stuck to the plate. At nearby tables Inappropriate food was served to those with food intolerences, which is inexcusable. Whilst the experience of other dinners should not usually be relevant a set menu, common issues of poor delivery of overcooked food by waiting staff who had no clue what to do when the kitchen service started to implode, and little idea what they were handing out to diners resulted in an general atmosphere of disbelief on what should have been a happy, albeit expensive evening. Do not trust El Fenn if you have any food health issues or allergies as , based on last night, it may not be a safe place to eat. Slow, terrible, service to our table and at tables around us . With just one exception all courses were either tepid or cold, and very over cooked. At one stage the evening’s events made me think someone was playing a prank with a hidden camera. This is an instagram photo venue not somewhere to eat. Whilst apologies were offered ( it was clear they knew they had a major problem) this was a car crash of an evening and I see no reason for anyone to risk a visit to eat ( the bar is a different matter). There are plenty of good places to eat in Marrakech, this is not one of them. It is a very elegant setting and place to have an expensive drink, but, sadly, that is all it is.

We are deeply sorry for the disappointing experience you had on New Year's Eve at El Fenn on what should have been a joyous celebration. The issues you've highlighted regarding service meltdowns, delays, and inappropriate food for those with intolerances are absolutely unacceptable. Please be assured that we take your feedback seriously, and we are conducting a thorough investigation into the events of that evening to address the root causes of these failures. With technical difficulties in the kitchen, we encountered slow service and issues with food quality. This is not reflective of the standards we strive to uphold. Your concerns about food allergies are taken very seriously, and we assure you that we are committed to creating a safe dining environment for all our guests. This lapse is not indicative of our usual practices, and we will be implementing additional measures to ensure the utmost care in handling dietary restrictions. We truly appreciate your honesty, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further, if you haven't got back to us following our email to you, we urge you to get in touch. We apologize for the impact this had on your New Year's celebration, and we hope you might reconsider giving us another chance.

Amazing drinks and even better service from Yassine Elmehdaoui. The venue is stunning and gives you a beautiful view of the city. The hotel is remarkably beautiful and the weather is remarkable - particularly for December as a European.
