We are a historic 18th century riad set in the Mouassine district at the very centre of the Medina - the old city - actually in the famous souks. Perfect riad for exploring the city & for experiencing local life. We can meet & greet you at the airport to give you a hassle-free arrival. We welcome you at the riad with Moroccan Mint Tea, then give an initial briefing on enjoying, getting the absolute maximum out of your visit. We will talk to you for as long or as little as you wish talking about best places to visit, how to stay save, scams to look out for, how to negotiate. Most guests chat to us daily about what to do, how to reach places, restaurants to visit (we take no commission). You will find us a fund of information to hit the streets running and thoroughly enjoy our beautiful exotic City. To cap it all we have excellent Moroccan Cuisine with four of the best Moroccan cuisine cooks in the Old City.

I cannot say enough good things about Riad El Zohar!
My friend and I took a trip (from the USA) to Europe for another friend's wedding. While in Europe, we caught a quick flight down to Marrakech for a couple of days. I had booked Riad El Zohar online, and it was absolutely perfect.
The entire riad is warm, inviting, and absolutely gorgeous. Every room is unique and pure luxury.
The riad remains locked at all times, with entrance allowed only by ringing the bell. So we felt very safe and secure.
The riad is located in the heart of the old town, and all major sites are easily walkable. (I recommend booking the riad's airport pickup/dropoff since finding the riad can be a bit tricky given its excellent location in the heart of old town.)
Allan and his staff were absolutely amazing, even before we arrived in Morocco. We were always offered tea (or coffee), and breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Since there were few visitors to the riad during our stay (we arrived just after the earthquake), we took our meals outside of the riad. But on my next stay at Riad El Zohar, I look forward to dining at "home."

this was our family vacation with my parents, my dad is super easy going, my mom is the opposite... needless to say EVERYONE was super happy.
I would like to start off by saying that it's the people for the most part that make your stay memorable and enjoyable and the staff here is just amazing.
I loved the ambiance of the interior and uniqueness of each room, took complete advantage of the pool and roof terrace, where we had our dinners (important to mention we arrived early June and most restaurants were closed so it was nice to be welcomed with a delicious dinners back at the hotel). Location is another key factor, very close and easily to navigate to key places around the city.
All in all I just loved how easy going this place is, repeating others comments "feels like hone"

Thank you for a great report. Your family were super popular with the team. We are very lucky with our guests, and you guys were no exception. Unfortunately we are an Atlantic Ocean apart, so it is not easy for you to just to pop over for a long weekend ! Nonetheless we hope to see you again one day when the world is back to normal and you can see our lovely City vibrant, exotic and bustling busy. Thank you again.

This is one of the finest Riads in Morocco. Allan and his team spoil each guest and swamps each one in a pool, of welcome! This stunning 5 roomed riad is set in the heart of the Medina and is a space of tranquillity away from the bustle of the souk. The team is tireless in its support of the guests. Al Fresco dinners on the roof-top terrace with freshly bought and cooked local produce are a must and so reasonably priced! Try the Gerrouane wines at £12 a bottle or an ice cold Casablanca beer and chat away to Allan whose depth of knowledge of Marrakesh is legend. We'll be booking our third stay shortly!
I seriously thought of giving misinformation so as to keep this little gem secret but anyone wishing to have the best of stays in Marrakesh should look no further than Riad El Zohar!

We would have been lost (literally) if not for Allan and the staff. The Medina/souks area of Marrakech is magical place but can be very intimidating if it is your first time (as it was for us), but Allan and the staff took care of everything and told us (and even showed us) everything we needed to know. This allowed us to really enjoy the area without having to stress too much about getting lost, ripped off or worse. Because we stayed at Riyad El Zohar, we were able to see, smell, do and eat much more than we expected during our short 2 night stay. The airport pick-up (well worth it) was seamless, the Riyad is quiet, charming and located in the perfect spot, the staff members are incredible, and the Morrocan mint tea and daily breakfast provided for the guests was tasty. One of the staff members even escorted me to the local hammam (bath house) early in the morning because he feared I would get lost and that the place might not open for another hour. And when I purchased too much from the souks, Allan and the staff went out to buy an extra large bag on the morning of our flight. Needless to say, my husband and I felt very pampered in a real and authentic way. Allan genuinely loves running the riada and he treats his staff very well, which shows in the way the staff members genuinely seem happy to work there and go above and beyond to help rhe guests. Allan is always happy to share his wealth of knowledge even for Morrocan cities outside of Marrakesh - we will definitely be picking his brain on that for our next trip. I can't wait to go back and stay at the riad - far exceeded my expectations! Do yourself a favor and book this riad.

'Highlight of your Trip' indeed. You flatter us too much....but thank you. You two were amazing, you never stopped and fitted in so much including shopping the Souks dry. It is amazing that you were here in North Africa just a few days ago and now you are back at work in the States. The World is a small place now. You were very much el Zohar types , looking forward to meeting you again in a few years time.

This Riad was a top notch place to stay. Allan, the owner, bent over backwards to make sure our stay was top notch. The staff was superb. The room was beautiful and the terrace on the rooftop was a completely inviting place to enjoy Moroccan mint tea in the afternoon. Of the the highlights that I would definitely suggest was their Moroccan cooking class. We went to the markets with Bahija to buy the ingredients, spent a full 3 hours with her cooking it, then the meal was presented to us beautifully for a romantic diner that truly was one of the most delicious meals we have ever been privileged to enjoy. This was a one of a kind Riad and a one of a kind cultural experience. I unconditionally recommend this Riad and the Moroccan cooking class.

You would be hard pushed to find a more incredible riad than El Zohar, or a more hospitable host than Allan. A five star service from start to finish, Allan and the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We were a group of 12 ladies and we were spoilt rotten with beautiful rooms, delicious food and helpful hints to navigate the Souks. Allan went above and beyond and made sure we were looked after and given a fabulous table in a local restaurant too. A magical experience. We will be back!

We embarked on a journey to Marrakech with a heartfelt mission: to make our 84-year-old grandmother's dream come true. Opting to stay at Riad El Zohar turned out to be the pinnacle of our travel choices. Words fall short in capturing the unparalleled kindness, generosity, warmth, and affection with which we were embraced right from the very beginning.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with refreshing cold water and a tantalizing cup of mint tea—a delightful ritual that continued to grace our three-day stay at the riad. Allan, the proprietor and guiding light of the remarkable riad team, exudes an irresistible charm. His affability, humor, and unwavering dedication to curating an exceptional experience added an extra layer of magic to our trip. His invaluable insights shared via email ahead of our visit played a pivotal role in shaping our brief but impactful sojourn in Marrakech. His continuous support throughout our stay made us feel not just like guests, but truly welcomed members of this extraordinary city.

Morad and Erradi took the art of hospitality to new heights, serving us breakfasts that linger in our memories as the most delectable we've ever savored. Each morning, their offerings were an exquisite blend of variety and delicate presentation. Their interactions with our grandmother were characterized by tenderness and remarkable patience, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

The unsung heroes, Nadia, Fouzia, Kadhija, Bahija, and Malika, orchestrated culinary and housekeeping excellence behind the scenes. Their meticulous work seamlessly enhanced our experience, ensuring that the riad's kitchen and rooms were harmonious havens of comfort and luxury.

The premises themselves are like something out of a dream. With every step, you're transported into a scene from a captivating movie. The rooms—immaculately clean and luxuriously appointed—offer a haven of tranquility. The pool provides a refreshing sanctuary from the afternoon sun, while the serene terrace invites you to unwind after days brimming with exploration.

Already, a yearning to return grips me. And return I shall, for this enchanting experience has left an indelible mark. Without a doubt, if you're contemplating a reservation, I wholeheartedly encourage you to indulge yourself and embark on a journey of pampering and delight at Riad El Zohar.

What a wonderful report, full of kind words; thank you I am going to do two things. Translate it into Darja (Moroccan) and pin to the notice board in the kitchen for the staff to read. Als pin this to the top of our TripAdvisor reports! I am delighted that your grandmother had her dream generously brought to life by two of her grandchildren and had a great adventure. My second visit to this very special haven in the heart of the Medina and…it certainly did not disappoint. This time with a group of friends and we had the riad in its exclusivity. It truly felt like home from home. From the moment you step off the street in to this serene and quiet space, you are treated like long lost friends. The food was amazing and the rooms were beautifully made as if by magic. Allan and his team of amazing people looked after us royally, from the tea pouring, to the food, to the spotless and heavenly scented rooms and common spaces. I could not think of anywhere better to stay and cannot recommend Riad El Zohar enough. I will definitely be back

Thank you so much for this lovely review Penille. I missed this, and a bunch of others, when TripAdvisor stopped mailing us when we had 5star reviews. Apologies. You had a great, lively group visit, and that made our life easy and fun. Having lived in your neck of the woods for ten happy years it was particularly fun for me. Marrakech is improving all the time, so lease come back and see us in a year or two.

We had a very pleasant stay at Riad el Zohar which is a beautiful and authentic Riad. Allen introduced us into the Marrocian culture through his explanations, led us through the souks on our first evening so that we found our home quite easily afterwards and had some great recommendations which weren’t mentioned in our guidebook - Dar El Bacha and Bacha Café, you must have a cup of coffee there (it’s unique!!!) or watching sunset and storks at the Kozybar.

Thanks a lot to his team who made us feel very comfortable! Our room was always absolutely clean and we really enjoyed a cup of Marrocanian mint tea after a long day. Also a strong recommendation for a dinner at the Riad, that was the best Tajine we had during our stay in Marrokko! We will come back, for sure :-)!

Still very thankful for this week we send you greetings from Germany,
Axel and Antonia
