We are a historic 18th century riad set in the Mouassine district at the very centre of the Medina - the old city - actually in the famous souks. Perfect riad for exploring the city & for experiencing local life. . We can meet & greet at the airport to give you a hassle free arrival. We welcome you at the riad with Moroccan Mint Tea & Cakes, then give the guests an initial briefing on enjoying, & getting the absolute maximum out of your visit. We will talk to you for as long or as little as you wish talking about best places to visit, how to stay save, scams to lookout for, how to negotiate. Most guests chat to us daily about what to do, how to reach places, restaurants to visit (we take no commission) . You will find us a fund of information to hit the streets running and thoroughly enjoy our beautiful exotic City. To cap it all we have excellent Moroccan Cuisine with four of the best Moroccan cuisine cooks in the City.

We just returned from a week at this lovely Riad and I’m missing the delicious breakfast in the courtyard! From the moment we arrived Allan the owner and his wonderful team made us feel like honored guests. The orientation Allan gave us on our first day really set the tone for the entire Marrakesh experience. We enjoyed dinner on the beautiful roof terrace on our first and last evenings and both were highlights of our stay. The little touches, like blankets scattered in the communal areas on chilly evenings, the fact that you can enjoy tea or coffee whenever you like, make staying at RIad el Zohar a uniquely wonderful experience.

Property's Favourite Review
I cannot say enough good things about Riad El Zohar! My friend and I took a trip (from the USA) to Europe for another friend's wedding. While in Europe, we caught a quick flight down to Marrakech for a couple of days. I had booked Riad El Zohar online, and it was absolutely perfect. The entire riad is warm, inviting, and absolutely gorgeous. Every room is unique and pure luxury. The riad remains locked at all times, with entrance allowed only by ringing the bell. So we felt very safe and secure. The riad is located in the heart of the old town, and all major sites are easily walkable. (I recommend booking the riad's airport pickup/dropoff since finding the riad can be a bit tricky given its excellent location in the heart of old town.) Allan and his staff were absolutely amazing, even before we arrived in Morocco. We were always offered tea (or coffee), and breakfast was bountiful and delicious. Since there were few visitors to the riad during our stay (we arrived just after the earthquake), we took our meals outside of the riad. But on my next stay at Riad El Zohar, I look forward to dining at "home."

I cannot recommend this Riad highly enough. The Riad itself is beautiful, and Alan is honestly the most wonderful host we could have wished for. His local knowledge & expertise is outstanding, and he ensured that our stay was nothing less than fantastic. He is an oracle of knowledge regarding the best sights to see, how to book tickets for the various sightseeing outings, and provided hints and tips on navigating the area - and he does all of this with a wonderful sense of humour! His team are wonderful, and we felt totally spoiled with amazing food and of course, gorgeous accommodation.

12 women took over the whole riad. We had a wonderful time. Alan and his team could not have done more to make us feel welcome. They showed us around the souks and took us to a truly wonderful spice shop The food was delicious and the couscous was something very special I will definitely book again

Our second stay at Riad El Zohar, after a gap of 13 years. The Riad has free hi-speed WiFi now, which it didn’t 13 years ago, otherwise it’s hardly changed. The welcome is warm, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the food is delicious (do eat in, the chefs are the best) and the staff are so friendly and efficient. The Riad is ideally located just a short walk from the Square and the Souks, and Allan (the owner) will take you on a guided walk of the local area so you find your way around this part of the labyrinth of the Medina. We needed a relaxing stay, and we got that in spades, and fell in love with Marrakesh again. We definitely won’t leave it so long before we return.

Fell in love with Marrakech again? How could you ever fall out of love! I couldn't believe it was 13 years, really doesn't seem so long and you gave us that wonderful photo of the riad that we used for years. Don't leave it so long next time.

This a beautiful historic Riad right in the centre of Medina. The owner Allan, is really friendly and super helpful. Throughout our stay of 5 nights he was available to provide plenty of information, tips and guidance. The rest of the team are also really friendly and always happy to help out . We would like to give a special shout out to Khadija who took us food shopping and showed us how to make the most amazing Marrocan Salads and Tagine with lots of patience, considering our terrible Franglais! The rooms are beautifully decordated in a traditional Moroccon Style and we would highly recommend this Riad to anyone looking for a relaxing and truly authentic Morrocan Riad stay.

What a place!! An oasis of beautiful serenity in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The souks, hammam and Medina all within easy walking distance. Allan (the host) and his team work extremely hard to generate a homely atmosphere and treated us as member’s of the family. The traditional food, cooked by the team, was exceptional! I cannot recommend Riad El Zohar highly enough! We will be back Allan! 😉👍🏻

A stunning oasis in the middle of Marrakesh, where the hospitality , accommodation and food is second to none . Allan (host) makes you feel right at home while his Riad is authentic luxury exceeding expectations. Stunning bedrooms , bathrooms , pool and terrace wow you. A team of 6 look after you as family. Dinner at El Zohar is to die for , traditional, a feast for the the eyes , nose and stomach in the fabulous courtyard setting . All this within minutes is the Souks! Visited Casablanca buy train in a day (£20 return first class) YSL gardens , ate street food in the medina and shopped till we dropped before returning to the wonderful Riad El Zohar. Thank you Allan We will be back ❤️

Where do I even start! Riad El Zohar was a little detour on our Spain trip and WOW, Marrakech did not disappoint. The Riad was the highlight of the trip, from their friendly staff to the place itself, it's beautiful and surprisingly quiet. It is walking distance to The Secret Garden and other Museums/Palace's and steps from the Souks, so the location was perfect for staying in the Medina. We also felt very safe as two young females, although they do cat call, but it was never aggressive and we were never followed. Takeways- Listen to Allan and all his hints/suggestions. Eat at the Riad every night because they have the best food in the Medina, and ask for the hummus specifically because it is 10/10. Drink all the mint tea you can. Ask them to take you to their spice dealer and buy all the amber blocks and Saffron you can get your hands on. Find an old lady and cross the busy streets with her when going to the Majorelle Gardens, as instructed by Allan lol. And DEFINITELY go to the local Hammam if you want a good laugh with your bestie and a true Moroccan bathing experience.

I will never forget your giggling and hysterical laughter drifting out of your bedroom following your visit to our local Hammam. So refreshing in a complicated life. Life was a tad complicated for us following the earthquake, and 10/10 to you two for visiting Marrakech straight away and bringing normality back to the everyday life of the Marrakchi people. I know it was a flying visit but you did so much, I felt tired just watching from the side lines! Thank you for your kind words and do return in a year or two, our door is open

I had the most fabulous five days last week and felt like crying when it was time to leave. It’s a magical, hidden gem with lovely staff and perfectly positioned within the city. The food was to die for and I was really impressed by the rooms, the facilities and what a treat to have a pool. I shall certainly be back to visit again.
