The Riad La Terrasse des Oiviers is another example which proofs for me that a hotel doesn't disappoint when the communication in advance is already great. Having rented a car, we didn't need a pick up from the airport, but we were reminded of the offer nevertheless a few days before arriving (oh, they care!). And then we arrived. We were quite tired after a long drive from Ouarzazate over the Atlas (and many construction sites), but we were greated with a warm smile, mint tea and an owner(!), who sat down with us himself, put out a map of Marrakech and explained to us for half an hour (not lying) what to do, marking everything on the map, where to eat (marking it on the map), even telling us to walk on the right side of the street, avoid the children and tips and tricks how to survive the busy Souks of Marrakech. Initially after exploring Fes on our own, we were thinking of hiring a tour guide for Marrakech to have a bit of a local support, but after all the tips from Renaud, we honestly felt we could brave Marrakech on our own. His advises were incredibly helpful, incredibly warm and incredibly good as well (talking about the restaurants ;) ). But the hospitality didn't end with the owner, the staff was equally helpful and friendly, I suffer from diabetes and the Moroccan cuisine tends to be quite sweet. After a week of bread and butter (because everything else was jam and cake), I was craving for a bit of a different taste, so I asked for a tomato at breakfast the first day. Sure, no problem at all. And the next day, I had it served in a little bowl without even asking. I know it's only a tomato, but what I want to say is that the cook remembered my special wishes and spared me from asking again. Highly appreciated. The hotel itself was charming as well, quite close to the souks (10 minutes walk if even), a lovely terrace with couches and plants, a lovely courtyard with a little plunge pool - all a little oasis to relax when coming home from the stressful exploration and from getting lost in the busy souks, that in combination with the hospitality of Renaud and his staff made our stay truly amazing.
Riad La Terrasse des Oliviers was a wonderful choice for our stay in Morocco! Renaud the owner was the most wonderful host! He made us feel so welcome upon arrival. He sat with us and gave us maps and showed us where we needed to go and see and highlighted the map we needed to get there. This was greatly appreciated! After we were shown our room we enjoyed Moroccan Mint Tea on the roof with lovely pastries and cookies. It was such a beautiful sight and even more stunning was our room. Our bedroom greatly exceeded our expectations! So lovely words cannot describe it. Every morning we enjoyed the complementary breakfast and was always a great start to our day. The staff were all so friendly and helpful especially when it came to taking taxi's and getting around. We always felt very safe in this Riad. It was about 15 minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa Square and many cool sites along the way. You will do alot of walking so have a comfortable pair of shoes. We also made use of the airport transfers to and from the Riad and were very easy to book. I would most definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Our family of four stayed here for 3 nights. Unusually quiet period as we were the only guests hence staff would prepare the full breakfast solely for us according to when we happened to get up that day. They even offered breakfast to us for the morning we departed which was scheduled for 4am - we declined - but ultimately shows their commitment to excellent service. Nothing is too much. Our son was sick on the trip and they assisted us in getting our laundry done and returning it clean and pressed. Staff are very welcoming and make you really feel at home in the space.
Renaud, the owner made reservations for several tours on our behalf and also arranged one of their regular drivers to transport us wherever we needed to go. Also offered lots of ideas and hints for sightseeing and places to eat, and things to watch out for while we were out and about.
Have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this riad to anyone visiting the city. It is conveniently located about 12 mins walk from hustle and bustle of the souks. Room was clean, comfortable, well decorated and spacious and rooftop patio is a great place to sit in the evening and relax. Overall though, while the location and room facilities are great, those elements can always be matched. For me, it was the service and people working there that ultimately made this a memorable place to stay and set it apart.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your comment. It is a choice of life to own a guest house and to make your stay an authentic and unforgettable experience. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you again Renaud
As a first timer in Morocco, we started our trip very well having met the owner Renaud. The Riad is a nice homely place in a great location near the old Medina of Marrakech and the new, modern city areas of Marrakech. It was a very comfortable stay and we were welcomed with the Moroccan Mint Tea and biscuits.
Renaud took his time to explain to us famous places of the medina and tourist locations in the modern city. He also recommended places to eat and gave advice when walking through the market.
