Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Very clean Riad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was filling with a different side dish every day. It was very relaxing and quiet considering we were in the middle of a busy city

This accommodation provides such a friendly Moroccan welcome from Madame Sofia and her staff. For the whole week we were looked after with such care, in a clean and traditional home from home. On our (delayed) arrival we were supplied with a light supper and a comprehensive guide to the must see sights and experiences of Marrakesh - Medersa Ben Youssef and the Jardin Majorelle were our favourites, if we had to choose. The riad is inside the city walls and therefore very convenient to the souks and main square, and after a full day of negotiating the souks and traders, the scooters and the taxis, provides an oasis of calm and quiet in which to relax. We ventured out for a couple of evenings to local restaurants, but mainly ate in, to take advantage of the lovely variety of home cooked traditional Moroccan dishes. Breakfast was also a treat to be had on the sunny rooftop terrace. On our final day we ventured out to the high Atlas Mountains, which provided a completely different experience of Moroccan life and sadly, evidence of the recent earthquake. Our guide Abdul was arranged by Madame, which was very convenient. We had a great week and would not hesitate to recommend Riad Dar Sbihi.

Whether you are new to the Riad Dar Sbihi, or, like us, are on your fifth return visit, Sibylle, the owner, makes you feel at home from arrival to sad departure. The level of service is high, yet not intrusive. The location, being away from the souks, but near enough to walk to them, is perfect. I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough, as evidenced by the fact we have returned many times.

Wonderful, welcome by Sibille and her lovely staff. Everything was just as I had imagined. Beautiful garden patio. My room was on the ground floor and I was woken by the sound of birds in the morning. I had dinner on a couple of occasions and it was beautifully presented and cooked, lovely fish tagiines. Riad is in the north part of the Medina and it was easy to get around by foot or taxi. There was plenty of information on the best places to go and how to get there. It was the first solo holiday I have taken for many years and I was made to feel comfortable and would certainly recommend this peaceful, calm and beautiful Riad.

A fantastic must for authentic Riad experience! We are well travelled with high expectations and Sybille and her highly attentive staff did not fault! Marrakech was a frenzied delightful city but what made it extra special was our stay here and the juxtaposition between the high energy of the city and the calming zen of the Riad. The peaceful courtyard of birdsong and greenery, rooftop breakfasts, was a soothing balm. You won’t be disappointed from the welcome of mint tea and pastries and welcome tips with many handy hints! We partook of the most delicious lunch and dinner all reasonably priced. But what made it best was Sybille with her home from home advice. We look forward to returning

We spent five days with our teenage son at this lovely Riad. The Riad is a beautiful building with traditional decor and as a previous reviewer noted is a calm oasis in the bustling Medina. The kind owner was always at hand to ensure that all guests enjoyed a wonderful stay. She and her team provided very good food and the beautifully presented breakfast was slightly different each day. We felt very well looked after and appreciated all the great tips and a fantastic trip to the Atlas Mountains that she organised. We would love to return!

Riad Dar Sbihi is a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. Down one of the side alleys and behind the large innocuous wooden door you’ll find a tranquil paradise. Dar Sbihi is a traditional Riad with a beautiful courtyard, comfortable rooms and stunning roof terrace. After a day out exploring Marrakesh or tours further afield, the Riad is the perfect location to come back to and unwind over glasses of mint tea and homemade pastries. The freshly prepared meals were a real hit and a great chance to try new foods. Sibylle (Owner and manager), and the staff were superb hosts. A great way to start out 2 centre Morocco holiday.

Sibylle is the epicentre of this hotel. The Riad is set to the North of the medina. The door was opened by Ottoman and Sibylle was at his shoulder to welcome us. Suitcases were delivered to our room and we went to sit with the Owner in a Moroccan alcove. Everything is genuine from hand painted breakfast crockery to bedroom carpets and draperies. Sibylle welcomed us and gave us many pieces of advice on how to behave, destinations and cautionary tales. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace centred around a different offering each day, Omlette, flat bread, rolls. At the side were different honeys jams, cheeses etc, tea coffee mint tea as you wished. By prior order you could in the evening have dinner. We had monk fish, chicken tales on different nights. Taglines of aubergine, mixed veg were accompaniments. The central garden area was a delight and caged birds awakened us each morning with their song. Most places have a slight down side. For me this was the stained glass traditional lamps and the dark colourings, all delightful, but to me with a previous history of depression, very debilitating. I couldn’t stay in our room and took full advantage of sitting in the garden to relax. Sibylle thank you for looking after us, for your care and attention and for being You.

Lovely traditional Riad, great location close to the souks but a tranquil space with beautiful furnishings and we had a lovely comfortable room. Breakfast was similar to a ‘continental’ with fresh bread and preserves but served in a superb fashion that made it really special. Sybille also catered really well for gluten-free which I really appreciated. We also had a couple of delicious evening meals. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Sybille gave great tips and organised a super trip to the Atlas Mountains. Had a day relaxing on the roof terrace which was great.

We have just returned from a very pampered week in Riad dar Shibi. The owner Sibylle goes above and beyond to ensure her guests comfort and enjoyment. We ate out only once as the food at the Riad was so good!! Sibylle works with a wonderful group of staff who make everyone welcome, creating a family type atmosphere whilst keeping the hotel spotless. We can't recommend this place enough if you wish to stay in an excellent location right by the Medina, and very close to the souk. An oasis of peace and tranquility in a bustling city. Thank you to all.
