Within the old walls of the “Medina” (old city) this stunning Riad is right next to the buttresses of the XVI century Palace “El Badi, and offers you a priceless experience of traditional Moroccan hospitality. While relaxing on our rooftop terrace, you are literally right next to the palace walls, on which hundreds of storks makes their nests. Within the Riad you will find many original features; stuccos, encaustic tiles, cedar wood carvings, decorative plasterwork, vaulted ceilings of brick and geometric floors laid on clay for maintaining a constant temperature. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful riad! The owner and the other staff were so nice and welcoming. They even got us a special local cake to celebrate our honeymoon. The riad architecture is beautiful and there’s a nice pool in the courtyard that would be great in the summer months! Our room was a good size with heat and blankets for the colder winter nights. The riad is well located in the medina and about a 10 minute walk to the main square. I would recommend calling ahead when you arrive so they can meet you on the street, as the medina is a bit of a maze and the location would be tricky to find for the first time. Overall, I highly recommend if you’re looking for riad in the medina!

We stayed for 3 nights end Feb/beginning March. We loved everything about it and recommend 100%
The communication was good before our arrival and we made use of the opportunity to book our transfers and a meal with wine on our first evening as we arrived at 9pm. I would recommend this.
We stayed in room bahia which was beautiful and ample space with a very comfortable bed, hot shower, and fluffy towels.
Breakfast was included and very enjoyable every day.
We used the terrace every afternoon for an hour of relaxation and we absolutely loved watching the storks nesting on the walls of the badii palace which adjoins the riad.
Mohammed and his team couldn't do enough for us, helping with maps, sightseeing, and organising taxis for us.
Finally the location is great. Just minutes from the badii palace, bahia palace, and sadian tombs. The main square is about a 10 minute stroll through the souks.
I totally recommend a stay at this riad

We had five nights here, separated by two trips out of the city (to the desert and the mountains), in that period we could easily leave some of our luggage behind and return to our room afterwards

This cute riad is located very central; but still give a perfect peace and quietness from the busy city. A little pool to cool down and a roof terrace with a view to the Badi palace with all it’s Storch nests.

Mohammed in the house is a very friendly hosts who happily gives you tips and take care of you. The ladies in the house serves you a breakfast that will fill you up more than once a day. We never managed to eat it all, but could then take the food and fruits in a bag for our trip during the day

I’ll for sure come back to this place and recommend it by a lot. A shame I can only give 5 stars, I would have given more.
Mashallah

A fabulous stay in Maison Arabo Andalouse. We had a 5 day stay in the Riad and we couldn’t have had a better time. Gpaolo and Mohamed are superb hosts and the staff are all so incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much and they will take time to really ensure your stay in Marrakesh is the best. When we arrived late on Sunday night someone was there to collect us from our airport transport and help us with our luggage back to the raid and then we had the MOST delicious dinner cooked for us before we went straight to bed. It was the first time my mum and myself had visited the city and we had a few ideas of what we wanted to do but gpaolo offered lots of guidance and particularly good restaurant recommendations. The raid itself is beautiful and all the rooms have their own charm. The breakfast is 10/10 with amazing juices, fruit, pastries and of course Moroccan tea! There is also the option to have eggs as well which we grateful took. We left to explore Marrakesh each morning feeling very full. The riad is really well situated to explore the city and once we knew what we were doing to explored almost all of it by foot. I have fallen deeply in love with this vibrant city full of colour and life & I definitely will be back. I can’t thank everyone at Maison Arabo Andalouse enough!

This is a fantastic and unique place to stay in Marrakech. The whole Riad has a great atmosphere and the attention to the guests is extraordinary. GPaolo and his team makes you feel very special since the first moment… they are all super kind and always alert to help with any thing / information you might need. Our room -I would say suite- was very nice and comfortable for the whole family (4 in total). The breakfasts in the terrace were excellent. We also had two memorable dinners. Overall, fantastic stay. Very recommended.

We had the most incredible time in Marrakech and the highlight was definitely this Riad. Kader and Paolo were the most hospitable hosts and they took care of everything we needed. The room we stayed in was perfect for the 3 of us. It was spacious and beautifully decorated. It was truly an authentic Moroccan experience. The view of their roof deck was stunning. We were also served with delicious breakfast everyday. I would come back to this Riad the next time I’m in Marrakech!

Marakesh is pretty full on and this riad was a total oasis. The main plus is the staff who are absolutely superb and extremely helpful. They speak Arabic, English and French and for complex matters the owner is on Watsapp. They helped us so much with all sorts of arrangements and advice. The room was excellent. We picked one with a living room and large terrace which was a perfect oasis from the craziness of Marakesh. The food at breakfast was plentiful and really tasty. Nothing was too much trouble. You won't regret your choice.

We, the three of us travelled at the beginning of February to Marrakech. We stayed for five nights in the Maison Arabo Andalouse. The room and the service are excellent. Everything is fine and just like in the advertisement described. Mohamed is the brain and the organisator and Paolo ist the head of the Riad. Both and the whole team are always trying to make it as comfortable as possible for you. Enjoy your breakfast on top of the roof and take the top advices for Marrakech which Mohamed has for you! We can recommend this Riad just without any single complaint. Thank you for everything!
Regards from Germany. Anja, Franziska and Marc.

You where very lucky because on February the breakfast at the big terrace it's well appreciate if it's nice weather,of course not to early on the morning (still bit fresh),for that reason we take time to discuss together regarding the Riad story and Marrakesh on generally, sharing fresh orange juice and the Moroccan crepe just make by our cooker; waiting for Mohamed organise the excursions I understand your appreciations but for us it's usually,we like ours guests have just a relaxing time. Choukrane Maa Salama, for your appreciation.

This riad is a perfect distance from the hectic main square (about a 5-10 minute walk/saunter), very friendly, helpful staff, clean and simple. I'd recommend having breakfast served on the main roof terrace.

1 week stay 08/10/11 - 15/10/11

Firstly, I must apologise to Paolo for promising to write a review and not doing it sooner. I hope you remember me and Tania!!!

The Maison Arabo Andalouse really does deserve all the praise it is given on trip advisor.

This was our first visit to Morocco and Marrakech and right from the initial booking, Paolo and his staff could not have done more to help us if they tried. The level of communication and helpfulness far exceeded any hotel I have ever stayed at. Do not be afraid to email the Riad with your questions before travelling, you are guaranteed quick answers. I had already planned a full week of excursions, average costs and an evening catered towards the proposal to my now fiancé at the Riad all months before travelling.

What makes Maison Arabo Andalouse stand head and shoulders above the competition is the people running it and the staff. Paolo was the perfect host and I have to say a huge thank you to Mohamed, Zara and Fatima as well. Mohamed is like the uncle I never had! Despite the language barrier they are a few of the kindest people you will ever meet. We was extra lucky to have the whole Riad to ourselves for 3-4 days of the 1 week stay and we was treated like royalty. It was such a personal and family orientated treatment that we left feeling like we was leaving behind 4 very good friends. How many other Hotels can you say that about??

The hotel is kept extremely clean day and night. It has a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere and is beautifully decorated throughout. Whilst some of the rooms are very spacious, do not expect the rest of the Riad to be the same. Afterall it is located down a side street/alley typical of Marrakech. It is by no means short of space however. The roof terrace is beautiful and catches the sun until very late in the evenings. You can take some very iconic pictures across the roof tops when the sun sets behind the mosques. The Riad is also situated next door to some old ruins where hundreds of stalks come to nest in the evenings. From the roof terrace you are literally about 10 feet away from some of the nests. They make the strangest noise with their beaks aswell!

I have to be objective and say that the one and only down side to our whole experience at Maison Arabo Andalouse was the level of noise some nights from the property opposite on the other side of the alley. The property is clearly owned and lived in by locals and contained a large family with children and a dog. Both were noisy a few of the nights till quite late. Paolo did mention that they had made a complaint to the local authority about the dog, so hopefully the issue got resolved.

The hotel is ideally situated just 5 minutes walk down two straight roads from Djemaa El Fna market square and the Souks. And with in easy walking of the Saadian Tombs, hammam spas and Bahia Palace. Marrakech can easily be intimidating to new visitors with its many alleys and hustle and bustle. On our first day exploring, Mohamed offered to walk with us as a guide to show us our way to the main areas of the city. He also made the various Hammam bookings for us and liaised with other tour operators on our behalf in French to ensure all bookings and times was understood. He even took us to the Hammam because we got lost. This sort of help from the Riad removed so many of our fears and worries when walking around on our own. All of Mohameds recommendations was perfect. For excellent food at ridiculously cheap prices, you have definitely got to eat at Oscars. It is very basic inside and feels a bit like a British Cafe, but the food is some of the best we tried when looking for a nice place for lunch or basic evening meal.

The food at the Riad was lovely although I do not expect many guests to eat there given how cheap the surrounding restaurants can be and you want to soak up the atmosphere that Marrakech has to offer at night. We did have breakfast every morning in front of the plunge pool though and it was delicious and very private. Mohamed even offered to go to the shops to get us our favourite items when they ran out. The staff at Maison Arabo Andalouse really did not allow us to lift a finger to help. Mohamed even had a go at me for carrying my own suitcase down the stairs!!! Bless him!

On a personal note, two moments stood out for me above all others. The first was the celebration of my 30th birthday at the hotel. Paolo arranged a meal in the dining area for all the guests including a few that had left a few days earlier and presented me with a gift for my birthday. What a genuine and nice gesture. Very heart felt. The second and most important was my engagement on the roof terrace. Paolo and Mohamed had decorated the roof terrace with hundreds of candles and rose petals scattered all over and put together a three course meal for after my proposal. It was a magical night made perfect by the staff. Poor Mohamed ran up and down two flights of stairs and a million times that night with plates and food. Even out of breath he managed a constant smile.

Thank you for an unforgettable holiday Paolo, Mohamed, Zara and Fatima. Myself and Tania are struggling at the moment to book a holiday to any other destination when we both keep ending the conversation with "I miss Morocco". We will 100% be back again!

Many Thanks and Kind Regards,
Speak Soon.

Mike & Tania
