The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Eric the manager was the perfect host, keen to ensure that everyone was happy and providing help with getting around. The riad was really beautiful, traditional Morrocan style and very peaceful and quiet. I slept very well in my comfortable room off the central courtyard and enjoyed my breakfast on the roof terrrace. It was perfectly located in the heart of the old town. Difficult to find the first time without a guide as it is located at the end of a winding alleyway off one of the streets of the old town. Felt quite safe though as well lit and lined with flats for ordinary families.

During our stay there was six of us split into three rooms. This is a beautiful Riad in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech. A very good location for most tourist sites and to get a feel for the day-to-day life of the locals. The whole place is beautifully decorated and the terrace has one of the best views of Marrakech. Abdullah; the host during our stay was so very helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for him and his cooking was excellent. I would definitely recommend eating in at least once, as the quality of the food was excellent. It Would also be a good idea to arrange a taxi to the hotel before you arrive, as it may be slightly difficult to find. I would definitely recommend this Riad to others!

The hotel is pleasantly idyllic but an antiquated site. It has a traditional Moroccan feel, very stony. Not roomy and definitely not for privacy. It is difficult to locate but most of these type of hotels are in the Medina (they are actually old style houses converted into bedsit). It is an adventure to find it. We stayed for 7nights which is 5nigths too many too experience such an accommodation. Eric, the host, came across as a nice enough person, he is French and speaks English well, but I was very disappointed in his hospitality. For a seasoned hotelier you would think he would know how to look after his customers but I think not. We had couple of bad experiences. I think he was always out to make as much money out of us. He may be receiving commission on the excursions. He offered us a Hammam, the Blue Bay, but they were truly expensive. I would recommend the Rosa Bonheur, secondly and most disappointingly he arranged an excursion for 1 night Camel ride Sahara Trip; we paid £20 more than others in the group and the excursion was really a bad experience. Finally he offered evening meals, we took one night up, this was our partial mistake, we should have asked him the price but we believed his prices would be very competitive considering the locality we were staying at. The meal, Tangine, was admittedly delightful; Abdela, the Cook, Housemaid, repairman and everything else rolled in one is an absolute great cook and a very helpful person. Anyway the meal cost us £20 per head, the most expensive meal we had in Marrakesh during our seven night stay! By the way the Breakfast is very very basic; a cup of Coffee, scrambled eggs and breadrolls with plentiful jam and marmalade, though we got them to replace the jam with honey, peanut butter and olives! Good Luck!

My family-two adult children, my husband and I-spent three days at Dar Malak. Eric, the owner, went out of his way to be helpful. The first morning he sat down with us at breakfast with brochures, a map, and great advice. The second day he even walked us to a store we wanted to go to that was hard to find on our own . The rooms were spotless and tastefully decorated and there were even bathrobes for us. There were a lot of towels. We didn't even use them all. The food is delicious. We took one of our morning meals on the terrace, which was beautiful and any time we came back during the day, mint tea was available for us and brought up to the terrace. The wait staff is hard working and pleasant. We had ordered dinner for our first night and it was a four course meal with a wine option. All four of us took showers one evening and there was plenty of hot water. We could control the heat in our room. There was good wifi signal in our rooms and on the terrace. When it was time to leave, Eric had arranged a car to take us to the airport and walked us to the car so we didn't get lost. I highly recommend Dar Malak

We planed to stay at Dar Malak for 3nights and found our selves staying for ten,as a result we had to room hop to fit in with other bookings so we stayed in 3 of the rooms which were so clean, comfortable, safe and peaceful, couldn't say which was best we enjoyed them all.Eric our host organized a tour of the atlas mountains for another couple our second day there with himself as guide,so we went along and were blown away by his knowledge of the country, people, politics and history, amazing day out.The staff at Dar Malak were excellent, helpful, friendly, the rooms cleaned and beds made daily which we liked.Like other reviews have said it is very well located three minutes from a taxi in one direction and ten minutes through the souks to Jaama El Fna square in the other with good places to eat around or on the way.Breakfast was excellent,on the rooftop ,over all Dar Malak we would say, clean, safe, interesting, well priced, friendly and glad we chose to stay there ,hope this helps anyone looking for a stay in marrakech and thanks again to Eric and his staff

My friends and I couldn't have chosen a better place for our Marrakech experience. Dar Malak is a beautiful and peaceful riad located in the heart of the Medina, just a couple of steps from the chaos of the souks and Jaama El Fna square. The courtyard and rooftop terrace offer absolute tranquillity and sunshine, ideal location for relaxing sipping mint tea and tasting Moroccan pastries.
What made our Marrakech experience even more enjoyable was the lovely staff and great host - Eric, who look after their guests with great attention.
We took a tour guided personally by Eric to the Atlas mountains, during which we visited an authentic Berber village and market.
If like us you want to stay away from the big international hotels with their swimming pools and golf courses, Dar Malak guesthouse is the perfect place for you.

This is the place to be if you want to get to know the real city but at the same time have your moments of peace.
Eric (the owner) has been super nice and attentive, I felt at home. Of course my breakfast here in London is shameful compared to the yummy unlimited breakfast served by the staff. I got from freshly made Moroccan pancakes to fig jam! Delicious!
Some people mentioned the location and that it is at the end of an alleyway. I see the point and didn't walk there too late, but lots of families love around there so I can't really see the danger.
I am definitely coming back!

So friendly and welcoming, beautiful spacious rooms, strewn with rose petals for our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfasts with freshly squeezed orange juice and pancakes were delicious, and it really was an oasis of calm just outside the kasbah.

We have been very pleased with this riad. It was our first time in Marrakech and we really enjoyed it. Eric gave us some really good tips of places to visit and restaurants to go to. He even booked for us restaurants and spa treatment (the real morrocan hamman/scrub/massage experience). The staff is very friendly and helpful also.
The location is very good and really central (plus the map Eric gave us on our arrival was really detailed and perfect to avoid getting lost - we had some friends staying in another riad and the map they were given in their riad, was definitely not as good as ours!!): a 10/15 minute walk from the Jemaa el fna place, 5min walk from the souk and 20min from the Majorelle garden. The food is excellent at the riad (we had diner there one evening- some very tasty tajine), breakfast is served until noon ( at least) so you don't have to worry about waking up on time for it, and mint tea with morrocan sweets is offered daily after 5, which is also really great! two things also to be noted: free wifi is available at the riad and they have a great roof terrace to enjoy the sun during breakfast!
Overall, a fantastic stay in Dar Malak, which we would highly recommend!
