We had an exceptional stay at Riad Hyati in Marrakech. The rooms were lovely, the accommodations were pleasant, and Abdel, the proprietor, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He provided valuable assistance in navigating the city and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. I highly recommend Riad Hyati for an unforgettable experience in Marrakech. M+B

We had a very nice stay at Riad Hayati while in Marrakech. The Interior is done in Moroccan style and our room: "Desirée" was terrific. It had a bathroom and closet on a lower flower and bedroom on a higher floor. The bedroom opened to a rooftop patio with lounge chairs and small pool which was welcome after a day of walking around the city. Steps led to a second private patio on a higher rooftop with a table and chairs under a gazebo, more lounge chairs and umbrellas and a garden. Abdel, who has managed the hotel for 18 year together with his sister Melanie, was a wonderful host. They made us whatever we liked for breakfast every morning and tea whenever we wanted it. He aims to please and will help in any way he can. Our only complaint is that the door handle in our suite needs repair. Other than that the hotel more than met or expectations at a reasonable price and we highly recommend it.

It wasn’t until after we came back from our 2 weeks trip in Morocco, just realized how much we miss staying in this place. We had Mina’s lamb couscous the first night and it was divine! We love the tea, the large tranquil living room where we like to hang out in the afternoon, and the hospitality. It’s an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Abdel was the most gracious host, he took care of us like we were royalties, even during Ramadan, the service didn’t lack one bit. We made comparison with others we’ve stayed, Hayati definitely took the first prize!

I’m not even sure where to start. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and hundreds of cities and Riad Hayati is in my top 5 best hotels list. Why? For starters it is in a great location, near the Bahia & Badi Palaces and the smaller souk of the Place des Ferblantiers, close to most everything, but tucked away on an extremely quiet side street. Then there’s the rooms & public areas: exquisitely, elegantly furnished without feeling stuffy or overdone. There are the lovely homemade breakfasts of Moroccan pancakes with jam, omelettes, mint tea and the FABULOUS dinners that Mina makes to order. Yes, all of those things make Riad Hayati a wonderful place to stay…but what makes it spectacular is that it feels as though you’re at a house party, not at a hotel. This is mostly because of Abdou…I could spend several paragraphs on how well he runs the place, but that would bore you. Suffice it to say that anything you need, any question you have, any scrape you get into (I had a Marrakech scrape during my stay) Abdou will be there for you. He is a marvel of organization and kindness. Other random things: the air conditioning works really well, it smells good, the rugs all over the riad are works of art, it has a fabulous roof deck. There isn’t one thing I would change about Riad Hayati. Not one thing. it is perfect.

I can't recommend Riad Hayati enough for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Marrakech in the heart of the Medina. Hayati strikes the perfect balance of a calm, quiet, and beautiful oasis, while still being steps away from the hustle and bustle of the souks and other points of interest. Above anything else, the hospitality is incredible. Abdel offers a personal touch of attentiveness and care that one might struggle to find at a 5 star hotel. If you need recommendations on the city, do's and don'ts, taxi call-aheads, restaurant reservations, or anything of the like, the staff jumps right on it. Great trip!

If you like to relax in a beautiful and quite oasis in the middle of buzzling Marrakech, Riad Hyati is highly recommendable. Moreover, the service from Abdel and his staff is just outstanding. Having visited more than 100 hotels in my life, I can truly state: The service at Riad Hyati is the best I have ever experienced.

I had a look at some of the negative comments and it seems we stopped in an entirely different Riad. The folks at Hayati couldn't do enough for us, organised a trip up the the Atlas for us and made restaurant bookings. This place is tucked away in a back street (as they all are) a short stroll from the Bahia Palace and really central for the Medina, despite being so close it remains quiet and secluded. The building itself is a typical, large traditional Marrakech home, built around a central patio(?) area and looking inwards rather than outwards. Our room was on the ground floor and the quietness may cause some issues with privacy (honeymooning couples I suggest you get the top floor room). We had dinner here one night and it was one of the best meals I've had in a hotel or guest house anywhere and the manager went out of his way to create a lovely environment. On the top floor there are a range of sun loungers etc and these remain quiet despite being so close to the Medina. If you want Paris in the sun then go get a bland identikit hotel in the new town.

Only four rooms with lots of public space (two inner courtyards), a plunge pool only but a nice roof terrace, room Desireé a large and luxurious mini-suite accommodation, Riad Hayati sure is among the prettiest riads in town. Well situated (5 Min. on foot to Place des Ferblantiers, 10 to Jemaa el fna) in a maze of dead-ends and not reachable by car. Excellent service. AC, but no TV (you won't miss it). Marrakesh cats patrolling the roof areas. Small missing details (wall hooks, amenities, Kleenex in bathrooms). Perfectly clean, beds on the hard side. Bathrooms very en-suite, loo e.g. in room Amelié behind a partition only. No Riad is barrier-free, so expect to climb some steps (in Desireé the bathroom is a stair down). Lovely breakfast with slight variations every morning (no meat). Excellent communication and guidance by Abdel. It's been a pleasure.

Our 10 night stay celebrating the new year, at Riad Hayati was such an experience. The location really is unbeatable, right in the middle of the Médina, next to Bahia Palace and only a short stroll to the main square. The Riad, with only four rooms is designed beautifully, very spacious and spread out with several sitting rooms to relax and unwind. We stayed in the Desirée Suite and absolutely loved it. The suite is located in a private wing of the Riad and had private access to a courtyard with a plunge pool and sunbeds. A few steps up and you’re in the beautiful rooftop garden. The spacious bathroom is located on a separate floor, complete with a soaking tub and a walk in dressing room area. Loved the wood burning fireplace, definitely a highlight of our stay. We had breakfast every day and dinner twice during our stay and the food was delicious. Pastries baked a la minute and freshly squeezed orange juice. Dinner was also amazing, we had lamb tajine one night and grilled fish the other. What really makes Riad Hayati special is Abdel and his sister. Abdel is simply the best host, willing and capable of doing anything and everything, from helpful suggestions, contacting restaurants for reservations, bringing us to shops, buying spices for us in the market, doing our laundry, setting up our fireplace, checking up on us several times and day and bringing us tea and cookies whenever we desired. Abdel’s sister Mina, always greeted us with a smile and asked us if we wanted something to drink whenever she saw us. Abdel is the kindest person we met in Marrakech, his hospitality will be remembered and remain the most cherished part of our Marrakech experience.

We are so thrilled that we chose to stay at the Riad Hayati. The Riad itself, as well as its location, is beautiful. It's very conveniently located for seeing palaces and markets and visiting restaurants and cafés in the old town. Our host, Abdel, was so welcoming and happy to assist us with all aspects of our trip. He was always willing to arrange and negotiate transport on our behalf, reducing the risk of inflated 'tourist' prices and being open when he wasn't as pleased with the price as he'd like to be (although we still found it to be reasonable and much better than anything we would find). We were provided with fresh fruit and bottled water daily as well as extra coffees and biscuits on one occasion, but we were never charged any additional or unexpected fees (which can often happen when you travel). Being able to return to a place of calm every evening was really important in such a bustling city. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, served at a time to suit us, and we loved the msemen pancakes in particular! The only thing I would make travellers aware of is that (as you can see from the photos) at least some of the rooms do not have a dividing wall between the toilet and the rest of the bedroom (but there is an open privacy wall). However, there is another shared WC downstairs which guests can use for some privacy. We would highly recommend this Riad - thank you again, Abdel and the rest of the staff!
