The Road is clean and peaceful, the staff are lovely, very helpful and really look after you. Be warned the location is in the 'real' heart of the Medina and may be a culture shock for some. But if you want to see and feel how people live you will do that. Outside the Riad is mayhem, people are poor and the roads/alleyways are busy, hot and dirty so if you don't want to experience that go elsewhere. But you will miss the warmth, hospitality and cosiness of this fabulous place with Fantastic staff. Liz and Jean

This was my fourth time in Marrakesh and my fourth time in Riad Shaden , it did not disappoint. The room was nice and clean, towels changed everyday. The staff were very helpful and a special mention to Said,Mohamed,Imed and the ladies who looked after us during our stay. A hearty breakfast sets you up for the day before you set out on your adventures, a lovely terrace where you can relax after a hard day in the Medina . I would recommend an airport pick up as it keeps things simple. Already looking forward to my fifth visit

A beautiful Riad which offered a warm welcome to everyone. I travelled with my daughter and Said was helpful and informative. He drove us to places of interest and was able to offer excursions that truly made our stay ! The Riad was super clean and the food was absolutely delicious. There is 24 hr reception and early breakfast when required. I would definitely visit again!

We have just returned from the most incredible stay at Riad Shaden. We used the Riad for the airport collection and drop off and the service was fantastic. We did two fantastic trips through the Riad - one to Essouria with Said and also a cookery class which was amazing. We chose and cooked three delicious courses and had a fantastic time shopping with Mohammed. We enjoyed a meal one evening in the Riad too. Our stay was faultless and we cannot recommend this place enough - it so deserves the five stars.

Had another fabulous stay at Riad Shaden. The rooms are spotless, cleaned daily with fresh towels. Lovely breakfast. Booked several trips with Siad that were excellent. Staff are amazing special mention to Mohamed, Imed and the ladies who looked after us so well. Beautiful roof terrace to relax on after a busy day. Would recommend that you use the Riad for airport pickups/drop-offs.

We have just returned from Marrakech and stayed at the fantastic Riad Shaden, the welcome you receive on arrival and help throughout your stay could not be faulted, accommodation is very clean. Staying here puts you in the heart of Marrakech but is a calm oasis from all the hustle and bustle that goes on outside. We highly recommend a stay at this Riad.

A calm sanctuary in the midst of the Medina. Comfortable room, good shower. The food was good and fresh. The staff went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay and avoided some of the scams in Marrakech. Overall I would highly recommend if you want an authentic stay in Marrakech

I visited Riad Shaden with my mam earlier this month and we had a fantastic time. We arrived late on Saturday night and were met at the gate by Mohammad who kindly walked us to the Riad. We were extremely grateful for this as it was very busy and we did feel a little lost. When we arrived at the Riad, we were given some mint tea and biscuits, while Mohammad covered a few things with us, including excursions we had pre-booked, when breakfast was and advice on the local markets and so on. The breakfasts were delicious each morning with a range of pancakes, local bread, fruits, jams, olives etc. The fresh orange juice is also absolutely delicious. Said was so polite, educational and helpful on our excursions we had booked, I felt so comfortable it really helped me relax. Iman and Mohammad made sure we always enjoyed breakfast, we were also provided with maps and clear directions to the main square. I would 100% recommend this Riad, it's a beautiful little place, I felt very safe and the staff just go above and beyond. Tips... When walking through the Medina stick to your right. The bikes can often come up fast but you will feel a lot better sticking right. Be firm but polite with people if you are not interested in what they are selling, I had no problems with people they just thanked me and we moved on Book excursions with your Riad, you will get a much more personal trip, it just makes the experience so much better.

What an amazing find!!! A little dauting when you first arrive to be met at the gate by Ahmed who then guided us through the narrow, busy street filled with street traders at the local market - you truly are in the heart of the Medina. The Riad is an oasis of calm in streets filled with noise and bustle and we received a wonderful warm welcome with hot mint tea and biscuits whilst Mohammed talked us through details of breakfast (AMAZING every day!!), where to find things and how to navigate our way - they even provide a map which we only need to refer to the once on our first trip out to the main square - after that it was an adventure every time as we found different routes in and around the souks. Mohammed's English is perfect and he is so helpful and more than happy to answer any and all questions you might have. What struck me most is that his smile is permanent - I have never met a happier man! Breakfast is served in a beautiful courtyard and there is a roof terrace with super comfortable sun loungers and also an undercover seated area if you want to escape the sun - it's a real sun trap and the furnishings are all traditional. Our bedroom was small but had everything we needed, I think when we visit again, we will probably go for one of the suites as they are a little more spacious but the beds are really comfortable, clean and fresh towels were provided every day. Marrakech itself is just none stop, the walk from the Riad to the main square can be very busy with mopeds and locals milling around at all times of the day - the smells from the street food vendors fill the streets along with the smell of fresh bread, pastries and herbs. There is something to see EVERYWHERE. We didn't feel unsafe, other than for fear of perhaps a potential collision with a bike or moped, I smiled at everyone who made eye contact with me - some would smile back, others would take that as a sign you wanted to purchase their wares but none of it was over the top and pushy (other than perhaps one woman in the square who was insistent that her hats all suited me and firmly planted at least 20 on my head!!). My advice is just to be assertive and say no thank you and people generally tend to leave you along, many are happy to just leave you alone to browse. Great trip and that's largely thanks to everyone at Riad Shaden.

Would like to thank all the team for an amazing stay! nothing too much bother- to late transfers and day trips with Said to help ordering lunch and directions from Mohammed and everyone else. 20 min walk from main square- google map while have Wi-Fi then it takes you there, coffee in main square with Wi-Fi to google map us back to Riad. Sunset in a rooftop bar is a must! One thing we didn’t realise till too late was if any tours mention pick up at Bab Ailen, that’s the gate at the front of entrance where taxis drop you off (not a name of a shop which we were looking for 😂) great experience for first timers! Thank you!
