The hotel is located conveniently located in the upmarket Kijitanyoma area 5km from city center and business district. It is 15 km from the Julius Nyerere International Airport.
The hotel has basic enmities and an outdoor swimming pool. Staff are extremely helpful and want your stay pleasant. While the varieties of cousins are limited, food are freshly prepared and the chef catered my request for vegetarian foods.
A decent WiFi facility.

The rooms were somewhat clean though I discovered they were cockroaches ans advised them to fumigate the rooms. The location is great though the outside ambience at times is not too great. What I liked best was the food and the service from the reception and kitchen staff was top notch.

Stayed here for 6 days while waiting to fly out back to work during the Covid19 pandemic.
The lady at the reception (Too bad i forgot her name, but she was always on dayshift during my stay) was very helpful. The other guys were helpful too, even when i called them at 1am.
The housekeepers and laundry staff were also very good. Room was cleaned perfectly and laundry guys rocked up in minutes when you called them.
Breakfast was ok and changed everyday.
Thank you.

We would not stay here again. The airport shuttle was expensive ($40 USD) and we had to wait at the airport for an hour despite giving ample notice to the hotel of our flight times. Very slow email communication with the front desk before arrival. The room was good with nice air conditioning but there were quite a few bugs. We planned on staying 3 nights but left after 1 night.

I spent a very nice time in Seashells. I have to say they made me feel like family here. The general manager Massawe is very professional and takes care of any single detail. The room was very confortable and clean. All the workers are very polite and ready to give the best of them. The food is pretty good, Ajay the Chef is a five start professional, he is the top. I know after three months I'm leaving brothers and sisters at Seashells. I LOVE ALL OF GUYS. From the front desk to the lobby bar, the restaurant, housekeeping....Christian, Lili, Steve Masawee.Rose, Charles...👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌❤

The hotel is comfortable and I definitely recommend. The rooms smell very nice and the staffs are supper nice and welcoming, A staff went all the way with me to the supermarket to help familiarize me with the area and so i dont get lost. The indian chef also made delicious spicy chicken biryani for me on my request☺️. The manager also made sure I was very comfortable. I would definitely be back

The staff were good. They smiled at every given opportunity and treated customers with total respect. Breakfast was decent, with fresh eggs made to order. The AC worked in rooms as well as the WiFi.
Now for the negative part. Sorry to be writing this, but the hotel offers such a good opportunity to be an outstanding hotel but unfortunately it doesn't seem so. The facilities in the hotel are outdated. I particularly couldn't sleep the 2 nights because the sheets and the bed reeked of the body smell of previous guests who for some reason don't like to use deodorants. The hotel might be washing the sheets and blankets, but no care being given to use laundry detergents or nice smelling liquids. The TV in the room has very few channels and the TV itself is outdated. the furniture in the room didn't look clean, carpet looked aged and the fridge didn't work.
I did my booking through booking.com, gave my credit card details. Yet when i tried to pay by credit card, their machine wouldn't work for some wonderful reason (my card worked everywhere else). They didn't want to use the card details that i had already provided online. I had to resort to paying cash. Not sure on the conversion rates, but I'm sure i paid much more than what the room was worth! Please be careful here people.
Also we are living in times of the Covid pandemic. Hardly saw a soul wearing masks in the hotel. Plus the receptionist kept sneezing in his hands and wouldn't use the sanitizer in front of him. He then proceeded to touch my credit card time and again like it was nothing.
All in all, i would definitely avoid this hotel. Not returning again.

If you are looking for a quiet place in Dar es Salaam, it doesn't exist.
Sometimes its quiet here, but the staff insisted on playing music loud in the bar, although there was no one in the bar but the staff.
Sometimes they would play the music so loud in the bar, you could hear it on the upper floor- and you're paying 80 USD for that?
There is nothing really in Dar es Salaam anyway, so for travelers to Zanzibar and Arusha, you won't need to stay in Dar. Even in the high end hotels more expensive than this one, you will still hear construction, honking motorcycle taxis and thumping music. just skip Dar all together

Breakfast was decent with some day-to-day variety. Room was in fair (not excellent) condition when we arrived; but they eventually fixed all major problems. Excellent A/C and no bugs. One watchout was a public listing of Seashells Millenium claimed rooms had safes; but our room did not. Their solution (which they did immediately on request) was to bring in a safe from elsewhere. They were not persuaded by the concern that safes should be bolted to the wall from the inside. Besides that, I would rate this hotel as very secure; front entrance is staffed all night and it’s in a larger building that is also guarded.

I visited Dar to follow up on a research permit and choose the hotel because of proximity to the COSTECH building. We received a very warm welcome and were very happy with everything - spacious rooms, toiletries included, excellent WiFi, good food at the restaurant, and friendly staff. Would definitely return. (Next time with my bathing suit so I can enjoy the pool.)
