A truly special place in the heart of the Serengeti! Surrounded by nature, Under Canvas provides a unique and unforgettable experience where you feel at one with your surroundings. The perfect location to use as your base to explore the Serengeti. Despite being a mobile camp, they did not compromise on quality. The tent was beautiful (a true “glamping” experience), the food was delicious, and the hospitality was world-class. The entire staff was kind, warm and welcoming. They made us feel right at home during our entire stay. 10/10 would recommend!

Property's Favourite Review
This was our first experience in Africa, so we didn't know quite what to expect. However, I can assure that andBeyond exceeded all of our expectations. Serengeti under Canvas is an incredible experience. The accommodations are amazing--especially considering that this is a camp that is torn down and set up elsewhere 4x/year. The tents are quite luxurious and even the bucket shower is great. The staff is truly magnificent--responsive to your every need--including some that you didn't even know about. Solomon was the camp manager and was outstanding. The food was fantastic--especially considering that it was mostly prepared over a charcoal grill. Chris was an amazing guide for our game drives--uber knowledgeable and with the eyes of an eagle. We were fortunate to be there when the migration was just starting to come through and were able to experience one of the true wonders of nature at ground level. The experience that andBeyond provides is unparalleled. Under Canvas provides a unique perspective that you can't get from a lodge stay. Not to be missed!

What an amazing time we had! Witnessing the Great Migration was everything that we had imagined and more. Totally adventurous and breath taking all of time. &Beyond was exceptional and alway "went beyond" to make sure our travel was easy and our stay extremely comfortable. Shout out to Steven, Elias and the rest of the &Beyond family whom made our time there so very wonderful.

We’ve safari’d with several andBeyond permanent lodges, and loved our experiences, so decided to give this mobile camp a try to experience the migration during our late Jan visit to Tanzania. I can’t imagine a better 3 night stay - from the welcoming song, hot towels and refreshing drink on arrival, to the amazing game drives with our guide Hassan, to the spacious and well appointed tents, and the delicious camp meals - this is glamping done exquisitely well. Yes, the camp is temporary and moves every few months, hence the plumbing is rustic, the WiFi spotty, and the electricity limited. Yet, the tents are beautifully appointed with superbly comfortable beds (warmed at night by hot water bottles), slippers, rain galoshes, robes, and a cooler style mini bar. During our stay, the migration was in camp, with zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes surrounding us every day, along with the roar of lions and hyena calls heard at night. The kitchen served delicious camp style meals with spirits and wine, and our personal butler made sure our tent was provided fresh drinking water, hot bucket showers, nightly turn down, morning coffee service, and safe walks to and from our tent to the main tent during dark morning and evening hours. Our guide had eagle eyes and truly made each game drive more memorable than the previous. The 4 passenger seat trucks were comfortable with a pop up roof and open sides for plenty of viewing angles and open air driving. I’m in awe that we were able to see everything from calving, chases, kills, and scavenging. We’re big fans of andBeyond and if you want to experience the migration at an intimate and rustically luxurious glamping environment, Under Canvas Serengeti is the ideal way to immerse yourself in bush life.

It can go without saying that a trip to Africa for most is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and boy do the &Beyond team make it feel like that. Arriving at the camp you are greeted not only by the truly incredible camp manager Solomon (who used to be a guide himself and is deeply knowledgeable not only of the camp but of the wildlife that surrounds it as well) but also by the chef Daniel and the entire &beyond staff who will take care of you during your stay. The camp was beautifully well kept with a welcoming "lobby" filled with comfortable couches, snacks, beverages, and attentive staff to accommodate any need you may have. The rooms are beautiful and extremely comfortable (the best bed I had while I was in Africa), it is hard to believe they move it several times a year. The staff was so kind, informative, and welcoming as they shared their own stories with us. As a single female traveling with my family, the entire staff and my butler Frank went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable and safe during my entire stay. Our guide Felix had vast knowledge of the landscape, and animals ensuring we had a deep understanding of not only the wildlife but also the culture around where we were staying. The food was incredible and the chef Daniel ensured our dietary restrictions were accommodated. The entire team exceeded all of my expectations and the experience was truly unlike any other camp we stayed at during our 20-day trip to Africa. If you are going to go anywhere during your time in Africa I could not recommend this place more.

There are no words to describe the experience that myself and my family had at Serengeti Under Canvas! There was not a single thing they did not attend to! The camp has 9 tents and we had 3 of them….the attention to detail was second to none! Our butler Chris went “and beyond” just like in the name. He was a pleasure and anticipated our every need and even some we didn’t know like cleaning our muddy shoes after a heavy rain! This experience will stay with me and our entire family forever! Everyone there was so kind and accommodating! Solomon who oversaw ALL aspects of the camp was phenomenal….always checking to make sure we had what we needed! While we were there, there was a family that appeared to be very hard to deal with (I know this because they made it obvious), but Solomon remained professional and tried to accommodate their needs…although it seemed that the wi-fi wasn’t quick enough…I mean we were in the middle of the southern Serengeti! Everyone in our family was able send and receive emails! We also had the best guide/tracker that we could have asked for. Felix knew the Serengeti, the animals, the birds, the landscape with encyclopedic knowledge! The food was incredible as well! I feel that it was 5 stars plus! I would recommend this property and the people who make it their business to make your experience the best to anyone who would listen! Thanks andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas we loved our experience and all the people there! Oh did I mention the giraffes just hanging out by our room, the amazing clear sky or the zebras that just kept coming and coming through camp….truly amazing! Until we meet again!

OH. MY GOD! What an incredible, life changing and remarkable experience we had. The camp is truly astonishing – I think when people think about luxury camping on safari, andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas is what they are thinking of – I know it was the case for us! My entire family works in either event production or travel, so we know a thing or two about taking care of guests and creating remarkable emotional souvenirs – and the team at andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas NAILED it. The tent - and that seems hardly the right expression for whatever it was we slept in – was SO comfortable, clean and lovely, and drifting off to sleep hearing the sounds of the Serengeti is something my family and I won’t soon forget! The lounge tent (if that’s what it’s called!) was a daily destination for pre-dinner games and catching up, and the dining tent as comfortable as any restaurant I’ve visited, much less one ten hours hard drive from the nearest grocers! But remarkable though the physical aspects of the camp are – and its hard to imagine that they move it several times a year, it was the staff that truly made the experience for us. From the moment Solomon welcomed us to the camp, it felt like we were amongst friends – he and his team were efficient, effective, welcoming and lovely without exception. Frank and Singoi taking care of the tents we had for our kids, and Christian taking care of my wife and I, couldn’t have been more lovely, kind and accommodating. The food Daniel created was delicious, thoughtful and curated – sort of astonishing, as he was cooking 5 star food essentially in the middle of nowhere! But it was our guide Felix who really put the icing on the cake – it was like being guided by a wildlife encyclopedia, and the stories he shared about growing up in a Maasai village were so moving. He always knew where to go and what to see, and really lived in harmony with the land. We had an amazing time and created memories together that will last a lifetime – thank you, thank you, thank you! I must add I think I was at the camp at the same time as the family that posted the reviews below mine - and our experience could not have been more different than theirs. Rest assured, NO ONE at the camp had dysentery - a very serious condition that is an infection of the intestines resulting in severe diarrhoea with the presence of blood and mucus in the faeces. One of our party DID have mild diarrhoea, brought on from something at our previous camp. The excellent and efficient andBeyond on-site doctor saw them and gave them Imodium and electrolytes. The andBeond team made them special food, treated them like royalty, and they were right as rain in 24 hours. Dysentery is a serious condition, and to suggest a camp would not take that very seriously is like suggesting a hotel wouldn't take bed bugs seriously - not something to do lightly. In my experience, andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas was cleaner and more hygienic than many hotels I've stayed at in the US. Others may have felt differently. andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas is a truly incredible place, and if it is a true, under-canvas, close-to-nature experience you seek, look no further. But it is NOT a traditional hotel. For me, that is the magic and wonder of it - its unlike anything else I've experienced. I think you might love it too!!

We (a group of 3 couples) stayed at AndBeyond Serengeti under canvas in the Kogatende area for 3 nights this September and it was amazing. The facility moves 4 times a year trying to anticipate the movement of the great migration. I cannot say enough about how special this experience was. The tents are very luxurious (definitely glamping) and include a very comfortable bed, flush toilet, and an outside bucket shower that is part of your tent and that they add hot water to before you have a shower. There is also a dining tent and lounge/cocktail tent for the guests to share. The food was amazing and the staff were very attentive. Our safari driver was Alphonce and he was incredible! He was so entertaining and as excited as we were to be out on the Serengeti enjoying all of the wildlife. He had the eyes of an eagle, able to see wildlife that most people would drive by. We were able to see lions eating their kill, and chasing away the hyenas that were getting too close. We came across cheetahs that had just made their second kill having lost the first to the scavengers. We were able to see the wildebeest crossing the Mara river twice in our three days there. One crossing involved the crocodiles while the other crossing was down a very steep bank and crossing very deep water. An awe inspiring experience to witness. We saw a leopard stalking potential prey from the river bank. We saw elephants chasing lions away from the river they were feeding by. These are only a few of the animals we were able to witness in action! Of the three AndBeyond locations we stayed at during our safari this one was my absolute favorite! If you are going on safari, you will not be disappointed staying here!

Like all &beyond stands out for its excellent service. The facilities are excellent, the service incredible. It is my first time staying in a campground so it was a different but unforgettable experience. The tents are so well maintained that it seems like you are sleeping in a five star hotel. We went on our honeymoon and without a doubt the staff did everything to make it unforgettable, from surprise dinners for my husband and me, the attention to detail at all times, indescribable. Singoi (our butler) 120% attentive to us at all times, Isaac was an excellent game driver - both very nice people to spend time and talk to, they were perfect for us. Ben the manager, always attentive to the service and personally with each guest. The experience of sleeping and waking up in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by nature was surreal, you literally had millions of zebras a few meters from your tent.

We loved this tented camp! Our butlers Abraham, Edward, and Adam made sure we had everything we needed including lovely tents, hot showers at the end of our day, clean laundry, and hot water bottles in our beds at night. The chefs were exceptional, and we loved the "family style" dining. My daughter was amazed at the gluten-free food they prepared her - far exceeding what we have experienced in the United States. And they do it all in the middle of the Serengeti in a mobile camp! Finally, we need to mention our exceptional guide Mohammed who provided us with some of the best game drives we have ever had the fortune to experience. Exceptional on all fronts - thank you Serengeti Under Canvas!
