The camp was in a great location, close to the crossing points and surrounded by animals who paid us visits both during the day and at night, grazing next to our tents! The food was great and we really liked the family style eating arrangements. Every other camp had individual tables but this one had one large table. As a... More

Fantastic location near the Mara River. Mathew and his team made us feel so welcome, everything about this place is wonderful, food, service, atmosphere. Camping in a remote location, but with every possible convenience, staying here for three nights was an experience never to be forgotten.

We were staying at the Lemala Mara camp in the heart of the Serengeti in Northern Tanzania. Waking up to the sun rising over the vast grasslands, with herds of Wildebeest and Zebra wandering across the horizon, is a unique experience. As is the sounds of their 'munching' just outside the tents throughout the night. The distant roars of the... More

On every trip from camp our guide found outstanding wildlife, and the humbling natural spectacle of watching the Mara river crossing was full of drama with crocs lurking to pick off the stragglers. The camp itself was beautifully furnished, with African fabrics alongside colonial style furniture. The chef produced great food from a very basic kitchen, and drinks and supper... More

This place is exceptional. Seeing the animals and the great migration is a life-changing event, but even the camp itself was a special experience on its own. Peter, our guide, was wonderful and even drove us to the Kenyan border where we had wine and cheese. One day we arrived back from our morning drive to find a lunch just... More

Lemala Mara Ndutu is an experience in itself! After having stayed for three nights at Lemala Ewanjan, we were pleased with the consistent, high level of comfort and service provided across all of the Lemala camps, including Lemala Mara Ndutu. Perfectly situated with a view of the Mara river and the wildebeest migration, Lemala offered luxurious tented camps with butler... More

At first when we arrived, there was a group of loud travellers completely occupied the public lounge area. Quickly the discomfort resentment of this camp was resolved efficiently and elegantly by manager Greg and his team. Our two days stay in Lemala was amazing. This is not the first time we have "talking shower", our tent attendant was serving our... More

Incredible experience... hard to say more or rate higher. Lemala Mara is not a super high-end lux camp… its does not need to be. Its perfect. Two wings of 6 tents extend from the central dining and lounge tents. The tents are all well appointed, beds comfortable (two queens), daily laundry, standard safari wifi in the main tent (means like... More

Our 2 never Lemala camp Again excellent camp with excellent service. I rated this one higher than the Ngorongoro crater one soles for the views. Camp has great views over the river valley. Dinner was served at a Long communal table enabling lively discussion with the other guests.

We stayed at Lemala Mara for three nights as part of our honeymoon and had a very special and unique experience. The accommodations were very luxurious and the tents were well maintained and very spacious. The hospitality of the staff was also magnificent and your needs are well attended. Food was also well prepared and quite delicious, especially considering you... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
LEMALA MARA NDUTU are the ultimate mobile camps that move between Ndutu (December - March) to northern Serengeti from July through to October. In both locations it is within touching distance of the birthing areas of the Wildebeest in the South and in the North it offers views over the Mara River. Set under large Euclea trees in the heart of the best game viewing area of the Serengeti. Here, in this immense remote wilderness, guests can enjoy fabulous landscapes and terrific game viewing with practically no crowds. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high, but nothing compared to when the migration starts arriving when the area then turns into a wildlife paradise par excellence. ... more   less
