Absolutely loved our stay at the Lamai lodge. The setting and the staff really impressed us. There is so much attention to detail. Cold lemon grass towels after coming back from a game drive. Hot water bottles in bed waiting for us when we returned to our room after dinner. Private dinner under the stars. The food was delicious and...

We came with HIGH expectations as this was our second visit to Lamai. On the first game drive a big hole in our animal list was filled - a leopard cub - we were lucky to see him on three different drives :) Also got to see black rhino mother and calf. So animal sightings were great and camp was...

We stayed at Lamai Serengeti from 10th-14th November 2015. Our previous camp was Elewana Pioneer Camp (see my review) which was 5-star++, very hard to beat. Although the food at Lamai Serengeti was excellent and the service good (with Lawrence in particular helping us throughout our stay), we felt that this camp did not rate more than 4 stars. This...

Dear Sheena C Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review after your time at Lamai. I am really pleased to hear that you enjoyed our food so much, I am always so amazed by what our chefs manage to rustle up out there. I was also thrilled to read that you were impressed with...

Third and last area we visited in Tanzania. Really nice lodge, and as always in Africa, lots of nice people taking care of us and making the visit pleasant. Food was great during the whole trip (with Nomad), but Lamai just beat the others lodges by an inch. Great game viewing - we probably caught one of the last wildebeest...

Our entire stay at Lamai Serengeti was incredible. No words can do the experience justice. The camp was first class. Rustic chic is a perfect description. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Helen and Clyde and taken to lunch. The dining room has killer views of the Serengeti and the meal of organic, free range, homemade salads, meats, breads, wines...

This camp is located on a bluff overlooking the Serengeti National Park. Wonderful vistas from the main building and from our unit. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food and company. But, most importantly, our guide was great; he took the time and effort to ensure that we saw all the wildlife that the area had to...

This was the holiday of a lifetime, a truly magical place overlooking the plains of the Serengeti. Everything at Lamai was first class-the staff, the food, the accomodation and the wildlife experience. Helen and Clyde arranged for us to go on a balloon ride over the Serengeti - it was an outstanding and unforgetable experience, thank you! Amos our guide...

Lamai Serengeti was a splendid first stop on our safari. The rooms carved into kopjes facing the wild, private, luxurious and beautiful. Saw an elephant and a hippo as we descended into the airstrip near Lamai from Arusha, and never stopped seeing multitudes of animals daily. We had a delightful guide, Ian, two wonderful game drive companions for the first...

This is an outstanding"camp" which has all the facilities of a five star hotel but is intimate, friendly but with a view which literally made us cry. The Managers, Clyde and Helen were fantastic, so welcoming and the rooms were amazing. Most of all, set in the Kopjes, the game was just brilliant right on the doorstep. We'll be back!!

Lamai is a unique camp among many in the Serengeti. The entire staff is welcoming and helpful from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. Gorgeous setting, gorgeous experience! The food is beyond delicious, the accomodations lack nothing. This is our second visit and we will be back!!! If you love nature Lamai is for you in luxury!!
