Our bungalow (we stayed at the South Africa) was amazingly decorated, very clean, with all of the needed amenities (with the exception of a hair dryer, but we managed without it), clean and tidy.
The beds were very comfortable, and we had as much privacy as we needed. The communal areas were very well kept and situated in such a way to promote privacy and at the same time to be very accessible to all.
The one think that really stands out was the food. Breakfast was very good (very well cooked to our preference, freshly squeezed orange juice, which is to be expected, but travelling to both Zim and Zambia, we learned that this is not the case everywhere). Lunch/Dinner was simply amazing, the menu was not very extensive, but our food was cooked to perfection (as we have asked for it) and the flavours were superb. Whoever visits Harare and decide not to stay at Amanzi (although we highly recommend that too), please visit it for Lunch or Dinner, you will not regret it.
My only recommendation for improvement (apart from the hair dryer) would be to include some sweet choices for breakfast as well (like pancakes or French toast, etc.).

Our night stay at this special lodge was an unexpected treat. Beautiful gardens, gym and gourmet dining. Incredible staff and service. The rooms are large and well furnished with themes that pay tribute to our African roots. individual decks were so exotic and luxurious. Well priced and accommodating. We only had some issues around the dining which we understand is outsourced (hence the 4 star for service and value for money) but they were attended to when brought to the owners attention

We had our second last meal in Zimbabwe at Amanda. We were blown away by the quality of the food available in places like Karina, Victoria Falls, Nyanga and Harare so we were confident the food was going to be good. We didn’t expect it be be one of the best meals we had anywhere in at least the last 10 years. Four of us dined and had varied courses and each of us could not believe what we were experiencing. The staff were incredible hitting the right level of service without being intrusive. The food I had was a unique prawn cocktail with a hidden burn that I’d never had before and was incredible. My steak was cooked perfectly and confirmed to me that some of the best beef available was and is still available in Zimbabwe. The value was incredible for the quality provided and this restaurant would be a five star one in any city in the world. Very well done all and book here with supreme confidence.

We stayed at Amanzi as we were attending a local family event. The hotel was well presented but some of the decor is a bit mismatch. Our room was clean and well laid out but had some odd combinations of modern and antique furniture. The mini bar was fully stocked and complimentary which was a nice touch. The water in the room was hot with good water pressure. We were unfortunately unable to have our bathroom windows open due to a frequent smell of sewage. We felt safe and welcome at Amanzi, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was nice, we didn't eat again as the menu was small and very limited. Breakfast was pretty good but be aware your limited to two choices only and it is not self serve. I've never been to a hotel where the continental aspect is not self serve. Overall we would possibly stay again but feel its a little over priced for what's included. We stayed in a top lodge in Kariba for the same price.

We have stayed in boutique hotels all over the world, and rarely have we been provided with such a completely artistic and aesthetic experience as we had at Amanzi Lodge. From our very first communication with the owner, Andrew Mama, and manager George, we were enveloped in what can only be described as Amanzi Lodge’s signature artistic hospitality. Every interaction throughout our entire stay was not just warm and friendly but genuinely above and beyond in its care and consideration. Each conversation with every staff member (from reception to gardeners to housekeeping to the magnificent restaurant crew) was a testament to the extraordinary level of attention and genuine kindness that defines Amanzi Lodge.

Amanzi Lodge, with its beautiful gardens and unique charm, offers a truly memorable African experience. The attention to detail extends to every aspect of the stay, from the well-curated art pieces that adorn the interiors to the meticulously designed and maintained gardens that provide a serene and picturesque environment. The combination of fantastic food, interior design, and spectacular gardens showcases the very best of Africa, making every moment spent at Amanzi a celebration of beauty and artistry.

When we travel, we always seek out a place to stay that can be a rejuvenating sanctuary after long days of exploring (or in the case of this trip, work and connections). Our stay in the Uganda Suite at Amanzi Lodge was nothing short of magical. The views were breathtaking, and the unique atmosphere of detailed elegance made us reluctant to ever leave the balcony. (Yes, even the balcony was indescribably special).

While it would have been easy to just settle into and soak up the room, we are so glad we listened to adventure’s call and explored the breathtaking landscape that literally and figuratively flows throughout the entire property. Each time we ventured out to explore the Amanzi grounds, we were met with enchanting surprises. The interiors are exquisitely appointed, each room a masterpiece of design that feels both luxurious and welcoming, but the landscaping is a marvel, like strolling through a living art museum filled with vibrant sculptures and blooming flowers, reminiscent of a heaven-sent oasis.

The owners, Julia and Andrew Mama, are the epitome of gracious hosts. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel like cherished guests and part of their extended family. They went above and beyond, connecting us with local artists and gallery curators, and their personal greetings in the corridors always came with a genuine smile and heartfelt conversation.

Even now that we have returned home, the inspiration drawn from Amanzi Lodge continues to resonate. The space they have created is more than just a place to stay; it is a sanctuary of beauty, art, and heartfelt hospitality. For anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in Harare, Amanzi Lodge offers an unparalleled blend of comfort, elegance, and a deep connection to African art and culture. It is a treasured oasis that we will always cherish.

The a restaurant here is well worth the experience with a very attentive staff and excellent food. The surrounding gardens are wonderful. Rooms are very large and well kept with a quaint English charm but African flavor. All and all a very nice place.

We arrived at the Harare Airport and called for a ride to the lodge. George picked us up and gave great conversation about the area, food, shopping on our way to the lodge. We got to the lodge in the morning and check in is at 2:00 pm. They suggested we eat at the lodge’s restaurant and advised they would take our bags to our room once the room was ready. The breakfast was great. Albert was our waiter and took great care of us.the atmosphere was amazing and the weather made it very comfortable to eat outside.

Beautiful property with unique room concepts. The rooms were comfortable, good service overakk.

Breakfast was really good. But the lunch/dinner menus need work. It lacked local food options, good vegetarian/vegan options. Especially if the rooms represent the different African countries, then it would be nice to include culinary options from these places.

Top notch stay, especially the restaurant where the staff are impeccable. 'Serve from the left, clear from the right' etc.
We stayed 5 nights. Only quibble is it would have nice to have had a bit more variety in the daily menu.
Two things to watch - a) if you want to play tennis, bring your own gear. The rackets and balls have seen better days b) if you need a driver try to organise at least the day before. We got stuck on a Sunday with no one available.

This is a review of Amanzi@Amanzi. I went with family who remembered the restaurant Amanzi but when we got there we discovered this was now Wombles and our booking was at Amanzi@Amanzi. I can't comment on Wombles but the restaurant we went to was excellent. the best restaurant we had visited in Zimbabwe. The food, ambience, staff were all great. Would highly recommend it
