Good location, easy to walk around Tripoli, nice people working there. Of course, as an American, your choices are limited. Came as part of a government approved & sanctioned package. Might be different now, but I was there when Gadafi was in power.

Our small group of friends stayed in this hotel in January of 2011, and we enjoyed its privacy and the fact that we could make ourselves at home there. The staff, Mahmoud, who took care of things generally, and Mossen, while neither spoke much English (we communicated adequately with them in French) could not have been more helpful, friendly and...

I stayed at the Dar Arkno for one night before teaming up with 3 other people to tour Libya. This guest house is in the two floors above Arkno Tours, so it is convenient for them to have people who are going on their tours to stay there. The location was poor as there were no shops or restaurants nearby...
