While the Mahari was awful, this hotel has been transformed by the Radisson and is now worthy of the 5 star designation, it opened its doors as Radisson Blu on september 2009 and is even considered better than Corinthia and cheaper, its very clean, staff have undergone a radical transformation and the food is very good especially at the morrocan...

While this is considered a 4 or 5 star hotel by Libyan standards, it was definitely a 1 or at most 1.5 star hotel by western standards. The bathrooms were covered with mildew and dirty, I was afraid to touch anything but at least - unlike some other reviews - I had clean bedsheets for the few nights there. The...

Walked in. Paid the equivalent of $100. Good breakfast. Good lunch ($10). Clean room. Hot and cold water and plenty of space. Nice pool. Staff speak sufficient English.

We spent 6 nights at the Al Mehari on three occasions during April. On first acquaintance, the hotel looks good - the ground floor, with foyer, check-in, shops & cafe are all quite grand. I use to stay at the Corinthia Bab Africa, BUT This Trip, there were 5 of us in total. we came for a business meeting. The view of the Mediterranien sea with the ships at the dock was magnificient. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was bad just hot air, Could not sleep the 1st night. Have to get a mobile air...

I stayed at the Al Mahari in April 2003 for ONE night only,the room they gave me was dirty,ie the pillow cases or bedsheets had not been changed,the room was dusty,the shower curtain rail was broken and hanging at an angle,the settee in the room was quite dangerous if you sat on it you went straight through it,the lamp in...
