We had a wonderful week at Sobo Bade. Friendly staff, great view, good food and easy to get in touch with friendly people. The architecture and the decor is truly beautiful and made us feel peaceful and comfortable. Our children loved it as much as we did. The beach around is just fantastic!

A true gem about 50km south of Dakar, on a cliff overlooking the beach. This gorgeous hotel was designed by one of the owners, a sculptor and artist from Haiti. His partner, a lovely person, manages the hotel. She is a dancer from France. Both are true parts of the local community and have been at Sobo Bade for many...

Right on the ocean, with a beautiful beach, friendly staff, good food, and fun activities. The restaurant is open whenever you want it to be, and the dishes were quite good. We had fun trying to learn to play the tam tam (drum) and batik. This is no luxury resort by any stretch of the imagination but if you're looking...

Easy access from Dakar or from Saly - about 45 minutes from either - by tarmac road to Toubab Dialaw (just of the RN1 highway). I just went there for lunch so can't comment on the full amenities of the hotel, but suffice it to say it's a enchanting find. Situated on a cliff-top in Toubab Dialaw, the Sobo Bade...

Very nice and not expensive place where to sleep and take sun in Tubab Dialao. There is also a very nice restaurant in front of the Hotel where some night during the week you can see senegalese musicians play typical drums.

My husband and I are university professors in the U.S. and we lead a study abroad trip for students to Dakar, Senegal every other year. We always spend a weekend here at Sobo Bade with the students and it is a hit all around. The hotel, located about 3 hours drive from downtown Dakar, grows its own organic food that...

Very cute and simple hotel located above the beach on the Petite Cote. Lonely Planet accurately described it as a "hobbit house." Building materials are locally sourced - shells, bricks, and very charmingly used. There are several small outdoor dining areas. Showers in the rooms are a bit "iffy," but for the price not a problem. We stayed in 2...

This hotel is really a pearl on the "Petite Cote" outside of Dakar. Like a little colourful mini-castle but much more colourful on a cliff with beautiful beaches below, in the village of Toubab Dialaw. Apparently it use to be a dance and art school (they still have courses occationally), and you can tell by the charming "courtyard" that the...
