We stayed at Bulembu Country Lodge on our way out of Swaziland. The room was fantastic and the area sublime. The restaurant, however, was the reason for missing out on the 5 stars. The staff were, without exception, very friendly, but the waitress serving dinner had a bit of a communication barrier resulting in one or two misunderstandings. Future travellers...

Friendly and helpful staff. Breathe in the clean fresh air. A stone-throw away from the mountains surrounding the area. Peaceful area. United, God-loving community. Great retreat. No TV in the rooms and SA network not that great, which is great because you get to communicate without any distraction.

The village was pretty but very dull. The information provided at the booking site wasn't sufficiently clear about the way Bulembu is run, including the strict no-alcohol policy in the whole village. The staff was very easily overwhelmed by even simple requests such as drinks orders and assistance with luggage. The lodge had failed to make sure it had enough...

A nice quaint privately owned town that serves well for individuals seeking some silence and solitude. Birds chirping away, bees humming by the Jacaranda trees. It is truly a quiet and magnificent placed nestled in the mountains. The people are friendly, the rooms were neat and clean. The downsize was that there was an electricity outage on the one night...

My family of six stayed at the Bulembu Lodge for eight nights this past summer (2016). I can hardly wait to return this next year. The accommodations FAR exceeded any of my hopes or expectations. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The meals at the lodge were delicious, too! Even my young kids loved the food and still talk...

Bulembu is beautiful in every way. You can read up on the history and focus of the town - online or in other reviews. The lodge is one of the enterprises which contribute to the main mission of the town.. housing, educating, loving Swaziland's orphans. If coming from South Africa, I recommend going in one way and back the other....

We stopped here for lunch whilst visiting Bulembu as a group. Even though we hadn't booked they were able to accommodate us and provided a range of food. The pizza was particularly good. Bulembu is a village in north-west Swaziland that's being re-developed with community businesses (lovely honey) and helps to fund an orphanage. Well worth visiting, particularly as you're...

So it's a very basic self-catering house, like the old colonial summerhouses - basic furniture, clean bathrooms, plenty of beds (if you're going with a large group), lovely fireplace (do take board games and/or movies to watch on projector/laptop - no TV). Utterly lovely garden, space for two cars' parking. Loved the sunrising! Appreciate they left actual dishwashing liquid! Doesn't...
