I visited HIYA twice, in the course of June and July 2016, each time as a 2-day yoga retreat (overnight stay), with accommodation within the Kailash bungalow. Located slightly away from the buzz of Kathmandu center, HIYA provides a truly beautiful & relaxing atmosphere inviting you to just ... pause for a moment. The place is not easy to find...

It would be nice if they had spread the message ; Himalayas of Nepal- the source of river Ganges and the origin place of Vedic Sanatan Dharma (the root of all the religion, Astrology, Ayurveda, Fengsui, Tantra, Yoga and Meditation). It would be a matter of pride for yoga lovers to be in the pious land of Guru Gorakshanath (the...

I stayed a HIYA for 5 days, and all of them were one of my favorites on my travels. I needed to destress and relax. Dr. Sobudh has unlimited knowledge and youga and meditation classes were great, learnt so much and improved my asanas. The food is vegetarian but very good, they will also theach you how to cook. You...

Completed a 2 night/1 day retreat here. Overall, it was a nice way to get out of the city and meet interesting people as a solo traveler, but time could have been better spent on a trek or doing excellent yoga classes in Thamel, while staying in a guest house outside of town. Location is tranquil, but still affected by...

My friend and I stayed in Kathmandu for a few days before and after our trek; we were thrilled we chose to stay at HIYA. This little yoga retreat is a bit of a drive outside the city but it was completely worth it - the air was fresh, the view over the city was nice, daily massages were a...

At first I wasn't impressed but then realised it was because the manager tried to continue running the daily sessions without the resident Dr Subodh (who has a very good reputation but was in India on a course at the time). So other practitioners were brought in to the morning Yoga sessions and evening meditations. Eventually we got some good...

I have spent 10 days at the HYA, and would have stayed far longer if it had been possible. The yoga classes are excellent, as well as the food, the cleanliness and the friendly and helpful staff. The tents are large and very comfortable. Very recommendable if your aim is to eliminate stress and get to know more about yoga.

I stayed at HIYA for one week in January and by the end of the week felt as though I was family with the lovely staff. The food, schedule, healing therapies and meditations are lovely - and the place is situated in the hills of KTM which receives absolutely stunning weather and sunshine during the day. Ganeshwar, who is one...

We stayed 2 days and 1 night. I thought it was an excellent bargain- 44 USD for 3 meals, 3 yoga/ meditation classes and a one hour massage. The yoga is slow and is mostly meditation. One of the classes you move more, but it focuses more on meditation and breathing than I had previously been used to. The staff...

We were apprehensive about coming here as we didnt know what to expect. When we arrived we were greeted by the manager Lala, who was the most friendly little man I have ever met. He took us on a tour of the place and arranged for lunch to be made which we had in the beautiful garden. We stayed for...
