Stayed in this property during a recent business trip in the city. Location is good main happening place in the city. Room were of good size with average amenities. Staff were prompt and attentive. Overall had a nice experience.
A fabulous hotel run by the lovely Biken and Basu...This is definitely the number 1 place to stay in Thamel...The rooms were clean and the double bed was extreme;y comfortable. The dead end road made it very quiet at night and its location is bang in the centre of Thamel...
Travellers inn, even though we were only there for one night, was a great place to stay. Rooms are clean and the hotel in the heart of thamel. Only place that sisnt charge for vat and taxes or wifi. Only slight issue is that the rooms were very cold at the time of year we went. Basu Panday the manager is helpful, accomodating and good company. Should consider using him for tours as he provides good services at competitive rates. Will be hearing from me next time I'm in kathmandhu.
While on the surface this looks to be a nice place to stay, I ran into a bunch of problems, all due to bad management: - Out of a 10 day stay, I only had hot water 3 days. I spoke to the desk, but they kept forgetting to run the pump, or whatever. - It took at least a minute or two of finagling to get the lock to my room to work. They knew re the problem, and showed me how to work it when they took me to my room -- why not just fix it?? - The fixtures in the bath, while new, were all installed incorrectly, spraying and or spilling water everywhere. - Every day I'd notice a cockroach or two in my room -- not overrun, but not good (one day I had one in my bed...) - Finally, on two different nights, they let a bunch of drunk folks into the hotel, and didn't do anything to try to contain the noise. One of the nights I complained (at 2am), but they did nothing, so I had to get up again an hour later to talk to the people directly... So while the hotel looks fine, and the beds and bedding are nice, and the TV works well -- there are a pile of other mgmt issues that would make me not want to stay here again...…
I recently stayed at Travellers Inn for a week or so, and it was really comfortable. Fresh sheets, endless hot showers, big towels, comfortable bed.. My room even had a balcony so I could look out onto the street! It is down a well lit and safe but quiet street with almost no vehicular traffic (just people walking), and also very close to central Thamel (and an amazing momo restaurant). The staff are lovely, helpful and always have a smile when you walk in! Perfect place to stay if you have just been trekking and need to relax!
