We had lunch in the colorful and well kept gardens. The food was very tasty and the service professional and efficient. No need to make a booking for lunch. The Nepalese thali was enjoyable and very tasty. The rooms are reasonably priced but I cannot vouch for the quality and service level.

Terrific ambience in this hotel, staff are excellent and helpful, surroundings extremely comfortable. Had the pleasure of staying there this January both before and after a trek. The visit was made even better by the glorious winter sun which poured into our room virtually from sun up to sun down!! Lovely stay, thank you KGH Staff

The Kathmandu Guest House (KGH) is as much an institution as a hotel in the Nepalese capital. It offers a sanctuary of calm and peace amongst the noise and hustle-bustle in the streets that surround it. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. Having stayed there on two different occasions (on the same trip) I can recommend staying in the...

I stayed at the KGH on two occasions in the past months and I'm very pleased with the service they offer, the rooms and the staff. I first visited the KGH in 2001 and their garden only got better over time. In the busy part of Kathmandu: Thamel, their spacious garden feels like an oasis. Furthermore: the rooms are excellent...

This place was recommended by a friend who has stayed here some time ago. The gardens and reception look fine so I signed in. They offer 2 levels of room at 40 or 80 USD a night. I opted for the cheaper as there are many local hotels available for less. The room was small and it smelled of damp....

The Kathmandu guesthouse offers a beautiful and quiet accommodation in the middle of busy and dirty Kathmandu. Especially the garden is really nice with places to relax and tables to have your breakfast, lunch or dinner. There a various rooms, from very basic to luxury. My room was middle class and nice and clean. The staff tries to do everything...

I tried to re visit after the earthquake in 2015 but the old part where i have stayed on and off for 40 years had been demolished and rooms were all full. In any case prices had been hiked to the point where I felt it far too expensive, so did not stay there and like many other former devotees...

Great hotel in the middle of Thamel. The gardens are beautiful. The rooms are basic but comfortable and great value. The suite rooms are very very nice. Staff and friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here next time.

The confusion of navigating Kathmandu's alleyways and byways is soon washed away in the serene and calming quadrangle of Kathmandu Guest House. Don't be fooled by the name (as I was). It is much more than a guest house. It's a hotel-cum-resort, with accommodation for all budgets. The tasteful and eclectically designed garden presents beautiful flowering plants, artworks, lounging nooks,...

The Guest House is a beautiful property however the rooms do not match the standard of the gardens and reception area. Our room was very basic. The bed was comfortable enough and relatively clean however the bathroom was poorly laid out with the shower directly hitting the toilet and flooding the rest of the floor. There was no air conditioning...
