This is my second homestay at Himanshu. The family is friendly and the home cooking was as delicious as before (Ansu runs a cooking school). The room was clean, in a separate building for more privacy, plus it has a private bath. It is on the west side of Kathmandu, away from the noise and dust of Thamel. If you...

Nepal is a special place that provided me an unforgettable experience and part of the reason why is Rajan & Anschu. Anschu is a sweetheart of a woman, wife & mother & you will never leave her table hungry. She offers a relaxed style cooking class & if there are any specific dishes you want to learn how to make,...

We had a wonderful cooking class at the Himanshu Homestay! Rajan's wife and assistant walked us through how to make a traditional Nepalese dinner - complete with momos! The class isn't very hands-on but you learn a lot about the ingredients and methods to cooking the dishes. During and after dinner we were able to visit with Rajan, who was...

Having visited Nepal 5 times for trekking, I found myself with an extra few days in Kathmandu and decided to spend them in a Nepali home. Today is my 5th and last day at Himanshu Homestay, with Ansu and Rajan and their extended family. An amazing experience. They are such a warm and welcoming family! Ansu has taught me to...

I stayed in Rajan's home the night before my other friends arrived in Kathmandu. Rajan has a really nice home! I envy him. The two buildings are in traditional style, which I reallly like. The room was very clean and comfortable. More importantly, his wife makes the best Dal and Rajan has so many great stories to tell.

Myself and sarda wanted to experience homestay not too far away from the centre of kathmandu; Himanshu Homestay absolutely exceeded our expectations - a friendly family of three generations providing high level of hospitality and treating us as part of their family. The accommodation was better than hotel with twin beds, en-suite shower with 24 hour hot water supply and...

We wanted to stay outside Kathmandu and experience a family homestay. Himanshu Homestay is only 20mins drive from Thamel and what a transformation from the hustle and pollution. The Homestay is separate from the family residence: the twin bed rooms are so comfortable, the bathroom with hot water is a luxury due to the solar energy. During our stay we...

The host of the home we stayed is Rajan and his beautiful wife Anshu was took us to a local grocery to buy the ingredients for the cooking course. Anshu explained very clearly the usage of the spices and procedures to cook a deliciuos Nepali meal. Mo mo is very similar to the Chinese dumpling. My only criticism is too...

Loved this homestay, very peaceful after the noise of Thamel. I stayed with Rajan and his family for Holi Festival and what fun it was. The whole village included us in their celebrations. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. A beautiful family.

While on a recent trip to Nepal with Earthbound Expeditions where I did a 12 day tour, including a 5 day trek, I decided to do a homestay before and after so as to experience Nepali life with a family. I am so happy that I stayed with Rajan, Anshu and their lovely children and extended family. I spent time...
