Great location in heart of Thamel. Rooms are basic but with comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. Staff are helpful. Free wifi us slow and works intermittently. Located over 5 floors and no lift so be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs.

This hotel is very average. Does have a hot shower and free wi-fi but the bed was hard, the room was a bit musty and the towels for showering were stained with huge holes in them - seemed more like cleaning towels than shower towels. The breakfast that comes with the room is very mediocre. Over-all i might be nice...

Very good location with being in heart of Thamel but off the main street so quiet at night, except the pigeons that came to our window. Excellent breakfast and service. Very friendly manager, who gave us a late checkout and upgrade to the penthouse. Hot water, working decent TV, only thing is the Internet can sometimes be weak. Definitely deserves...

Our group of 4 stayed at Samsara Resort the first night we arrived in Kathmandu. We had a good first night of sleep because the hotel is located a block away from the busy street. Service was good. We had an excellent western breakfast here. Beautiful little garden in front of hotel. Bathroom was ok, although my hair smelled after...

In the mid-range hotels in Kathmandu, the Samara is a great choice. We felt very comfortable there and well attended to by the staff. Choose this over the Kathmandu Guest House any day. Be sure to go up to the roof. It is abundant with flowers and has excellent views of the city. The rooms are spacious and clean. Access...

We stayed for 5 nights in two stays. The Hotel is very comfortable and the up a side street in the busy Tourist area of Tamel is ideal, behind the gates in a quite garden , a tranquil oasis. But its the staff that make any hotel a memorable one , and in this regard the Samsara did not disappoint,...

We used the Samasra Hotel as a base for our recent trip to Nepal and returned to it 3 times over the course of a month. The staff are extrememly friedly and helpful and even when I went in search of tea at 4am before a very early departure they obliged happily. The setting is good - Thamel itself it...

We landed here by accident -- when we showed up at our planned hotel, we discovered they had canceled our reservation. Maybe it was a good thing b/c this hotel was a very nice choice in the Thamel area. Very nice, relaxing garden, good restaurant, nice service, no elevator, free internet, large rooms w/ typically miserable beds (I never found...
