Room is very basic, it's ok for short stay, it fits the price range. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There are many restaurants nearby, you just need to go explore. Door lock broke so I was locked out but the staff arranged another room for me to stay until in the morning they can get locksmith to come fix...

With a large window view, it feels good in a sunny afternoon in the room, and the bathroom has a jacuzzi and is very clean. The staffs are very helpful, and friendly. The breakfast is nice with a bit western and Taiwanese foods. The price is very reasonable. Will definitely take it as a travelling base in Taipei.

This hotel only has limited rooms as it is only one level. The lift is shared by 4 hotels in the same building. So, you will find going up inconvenient when other people tries to go to their lodging at different levels. The room may be comfortable but there is not enough space for luggage as you try to unpack...

Location: this hotel is within 5 mins walking of the ShuanLiang station on the red line. To get to hotel use exit 1. To get from Taipei airport to hotel take the kuokuang bus no. 1819 to the ambassador hotel and walk. The walk from the amabassador hotel to shin shih is about 5-10mins. It's a good location, about 20mins...

I have stayed at this hotel on prior visits and it is the hotel that I stay at when visiting Taipei. It's one that's more known to the locals. The service is awesome. They do serve an eastern/western breakfast, eggs and toast with a meat. The traditional fare, I'm not familiar with but it looks good. It's a place I...

We stayed here for 4 nights and was pleasantly surprised. Location - 2 min walk to the closest metro station. It was across from a hospital and our room actually faced the hospital, so on the first night we did hear a siren go off in the middle of the night, but the rest of the time noise wasn't an...

My visit to Taipei was over the new year countdown period NYE 2015 and most hotels were fully booked at its peak inflated rates. I went ahead with Shin Shih Hotel based on several positive reviews on tripadvisor and at a surprisingly cheap rate. The booking also included breakfast for 2. At first I was still doubtful about the service...

Good location as 3~5 mins walk from ShuangLian MRT and there are plenty of places to eat. For night owls, 寧夏觀光夜市 offers supper which is 10 minutes walk away. Lobby is located behind the dining area. Request for early check in is highly unlikely even if request was made weeks before. There is only 1 lift serving the entire building...

It was one of the worst hotel experience of my life. The rooms were so dark and there was NO WINDOW !! We booked 3 rooms (2 people per room) and all of them stinked (humidity). The lights did not work normally and when I got someone to fix it I discovered a mess of wire just next to the...

Room is of reasonable size and I stayed in a twin room, but the hotel is quite outdated. Great location as it is near to Shuanglian station and many places to eat out. Staff are polite. Breakfast so-so, I ate out the second day. With the price I paid for this hotel, I am sure I can get similar places...

“Room 1001 is next to the lift, can be noisy but bearable. Provided with windows which is a plus as room can be rather dark. If you can bear with the constant turn on/ off of the lights, this room is consider ok.”
