Quiet place near the river and several buddhist temples around. As in many accommodations in Bangkok the management suffers from farang fatigue, anonymous service and the only evident interest is in making money, which is normal in a business but here it is a little too obvious.

Another quiet few days at Bangkok Samsen's Riverine. Located on a lane parallel to the chaophrya river. The owner is a laid back lady and the place is kept clean but not spanking new. House rules avoid confrontation with the party crowd. Rooms are fan and a.c. at 180 to 350 baht. It has a large India type rooftop where... More

This place used to be a gem, But these days it's a tired looking dingy place, with crap wifi , smelly towels and stained sheets. The staff just manage to be friendly enough. There is now many better options in this area, and Riverline has obviously lost a few loyal repeat customers, including me now.its not as busy as it... More

Clean rooms good shower and a comfortable bed with air conditioning all for cheaper than some dorm beds. This place is good for couples on a budget. Also the rooftop makes this place standout from similar guesthouses situated in the same area

I had difficulty finding the place even after I had checked in and gone out again! The staff were very friendly and the room OK although the mattress was a bit hard. There is only WiFi downstairs too which was a bit annoying. The view from the roof of the river is great and you can sit down and relax... More

This place is the reason why I don't hate staying in Bangkok near KhaoSan Rd area. It's clean and comfortable, good price and friendly staff, but the best thing is it's location on a pedesterian alleyway which is very quiet. Also has a nice rooftop overlooking the river. I've been staying here each time I'm in Bangkok, with or without... More

Stayed here twice in my 6 week stay in Asia (beginning and end). At first, I found the beds as hard as a rock. By the end of my time in Asia, they were not the most uncomfortable thing I had slept on. Decent location, not far from Koh San and some other good market areas. Nice view from the... More

Stayed here for 5 days, overall a reasonable guest house which is clean and has lots of friendly faces. Nice and quiet at night which can sometimes be quite hard to find in Bangkok but within easy walking distance of Koh San road when you want to go out and find some bars! Rooms are clean and tidy and very... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
