It's hard to add anything original to the praise that has been heaped on this exotic boutique hotel in Bangok, so let me first ratify the general sense of most of the reviews - good location, tranquility and excellent food and suburb service. The location, a few min walk off of Sukhumvit Rd, is convenient for access to the Skytrain...

This gem of a place hidden at the very end of Soi 1 will not disappoint. Owner David Lees and staff treat you like family and the rooms and grounds have you feeling you are visiting friends in their house. To top it all off is the inviting pool. And the included breakfast is the best in Asia. we have...

Arrived in Bangkok from Cambodia after a group tour, exhausted and a little sick. From the welcome at the front desk, to the servers in the dining room, service was truly exceptional. David noticed that I was travelling alone and joined me for dinner one night - the company was welcome! Some establishments offer service but Ariyasomvilla staff truly are...

We stayed three nights in February. Temperature was lovely - warm but not sweltering. Staff are friendly and kind. No problem checkin in early without having warned them of this need. Beautiful room (and we were in one of the lower end ones, fancier ones must be exquisite) with teak floors and patio off the room. Bathroom with shower and...

We travel in Asia every year, and always stop in Bangkok for a little R&R. The Ariyasomvilla is our Bangkok home. Name what's most important to you, and this hotel has it in spades... the location, staff, beauty and comfort of the rooms, the art, lushness of the gardens, the pool, the incredible food (best breakfast ANYWHERE), the onsite mouth-watering...

Ariyasomvilla is an oasis of tranquility in the madness of Bangkok. The rooms are great, the breakfast superb, David, the owner, is personable and helpful, and the location is handy to the BTS or the canal boats. We felt at home and loved visiting Bangkok from this great locale...

So peaceful and authentic, probably one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Ariyasomvilla was truly a dream, especially for a honeymoon stay. The hotel pool is surrounded in lush nature which makes it really relaxing and private, the pool area is small so get there early if you want seats. The food at the restaurant is very good...

Spectacularly serene, this hotel is set deep inside a street in sukhumvit, an area of the city seething with life. There is also a sense of the seamy underbelly of the city... With strange suspect massage parlors that appear to change appearance and ownership by night... But by day this street is full of hawker stands and street stalls... The...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
