Staffing has lots to learn. My friend called the hostel to verify our reservation. Somehow they were not aware of my booking for a room with twin beds. Staff said they were out of twins and only had double beds. Miraculously, a room with two singles became available. Upon arrival, no such available. Don't promise if you can't deliver! Between...

We sheltered here a couple of times from the rain! A few drinks and some toasted sandwiches later and we were dried out enough to carry on sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Air conditioned inside. Clean toilets. WiFi

Room was good reasonably quiet for the location (50m from Khao San Road) Not the cheapest room but value for money. Good location. Staff were friendly and helpful. I plan to use Panee Lodge again on my next trip through Bangkok.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Panee Lodge for one night. We arrived in the afternoon by walk-in and booked room 305 for the night, and we mentioned we might stay another night. The receptionist said that would be no problem just please tell them by noon the next day. By the morning we decided to stay again and told...

Great location, despite being close to the Khaosan road it was not very noisy during the night. Water taxi approx 10 min walking distance, Grand Palace 10 min etc. Clean room decent size, with proper shower, hot water, TV, fridge. Approx 2 min from 7/11.

I never stopped here, only ate in the resturant. Really enjoyed it, food was nice and the fruit smoothies are just amazing, perfect for relaxing away from the bangkok heat and hustle and bustle of the Khaosan road. Enjoyed it the first time i came here, and was one of my first stops when i arrived in Bangkok a second...

We dropped into Panee Lodge when searching for somewhere to stay in Bangkok that was close to Khaosan road. This place is literally on the corner of it, though it's surprisingly quiet at night. The rooms were a bit overpriced - we had 3 people staying in a twin room (plus an extra bed) so it was very cosy and...

We walked into this lodge off khao San road when we didn't have anywhere to stay, the staff were very friendly, saw we were hot- got us a glass of orange juice, lift to the room upstairs, smallish room but comfy and free wifi. I think it was 1000 thb or £20 a night and they were relaxed about us...

The room was nice with good WIFI, a large comfortable bed and functioning air con. You can do cheaper, but it does not mean better. The staff was nice and did not charge extra to keep our bags unlike some other places. I would not eat there, but restauants and stands abound around Khao San Road.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
