Been staying there every summer for 5 consecutive years (2010-2014), and always returning. The rooms are outdated (80's style) but spotlessly clean and cheap. The staff is great and helpful. There is free Wi-Fi everywhere in the hotel, TV with cable channels, private bathrooms and comfy beds to name a few. The Wi-Fi doesn't always work, so expect downtime. The...

All staff are very helpful and speak good English, the price is pretty budget compared to other hotels or hostels nearby. You have a big private bathroom and tv, AC, hot water to drink. I wish I can find this place much more earlier so I can come stay more!

The rooms are big and clean and value money very good. The area is really great, plenty of little coffees and restaurants around. The hotel has a little garden to sit outside. It is a big hotel so you have a change to get a room last minute.

First of all I love the area this hotel is located. The area has changed over the last 15 years for the better. Several of the old buildings have been replaced with modern hotels which have done a nice job of fitting into the area as they are only about 5 - 6 stories high. Many of the old wooden...

Great location, friendly staff, close to the kao sahn Road and jenny's restaurant which makes a fantastic masamam curry. Rooms big and ideal, WiFi is great and works throughout the hotel. My Home away from home.

This hotel is quiet, large enough, has staff that speak a little english, and is definitely nothing special, not new, does not offer food (but there are many restaurants nearby). I stay here whenever I am in Bangkok because I know the location and the area around. It is easy to walk around.

I didn't liked it because it the room was really old, especially the fan made so crazy noises when I was sleeping that I was afraid that it'll fell of me and it had a lot of insects in it. Something was biting me the whole time there. I mean it is really cheap but I'm sure you can find...

NakornPing located in Samsen Soi 6 is one of the "OK" average hotel in that area. There's a lot of Inn along that street with incredibly low prices but do not expect that much. For 800bath we stayed here for 3 nights with hot shower and cold water in the fridge. The market is just a block a way with...

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions. Our room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable, a little old fashioned and slightly tired in décor, but nothing to complain about as like I said, they were clean. The in-room fridge was really useful for storing water and snacks. Perfect location for backpackers who don't want to be in the middle...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“Try not to get a room facing the yard/entrance, cause it can be noisy. There's better Wi-Fi and more quiet in rooms starting with 300.”
