We love this hotel, have stayed here the last 3 trips to Bangkok. Lovely friendly, happy staff. Ac, very clean room and bathroom, really comfortable bed. Breakfast is excellent, plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Location is also good. A short walk to the sky train and local restaurants (particularly like Jack Diamond)
The free airport pick up is a real bonus. Overall highly recommend

Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located to the train system. Clean and tidy rooms and the showers had excellent water pressure. We highly recommend. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They offer a breakfast and an exercise room as well.

The worst experience ever. The location is awful. There is not much nearby and it’s far from the city centre.
When checked in they said they gave me a quiet room, however I couldn’t sleep for half a night, since the kitchen elevator is just next to my wall as is making a terrible noise, impossible to stand. The staff refused to help me anyhow.
There is a terrible smell in the room and the room itself looks very different from the pictures.

We decided to book this hotel after reading the experience from a blogger ( www.pinoyfrugalliving.com). She was absolutely right with her recommendation. You get great value for a suite room for only US$40/night which can command a daily rate of $400/night for the same room in Manhattan NY City. You will receive the following for free, namely: airport pick-up, computer room with internet, WI-FI, coffee, tea, bottled water, safe deposit box, mini ref. The staffs are also friendly, helpful, and fluent in english. The BTS train station ( S8) , 7-11 stores, and street food markets are only 1 block away. What makes Bangkok very unique from all cities over the world is its famous street foods. Your food will be freshly cooked on the spot in front of you. Pad thai costs $1.50, fried rice $1, grouper fish in chili sauce $2.

Tips while in Bangkok:
1. If you only have 1 day to spend in Bangkok then take the river boat cruise. Go to Saphan Taksin train station number S6 then walk towards Central Pier. Take the orange color boat $0.50/pax and enjoy the sceneries ( one hour each way). You may take this boat also going to Grand Palace, Chinatown, Khao San night market/european pubs( for backpackers ). Between 4PM to 12PM, from Central Pier also take the free boat to Asiatique. Asiatique is similar to San Francisco's Pier 39 Fisherman's Wharf where you can stroll along the river boardwalk with many chic boutique stores and fancy restaurants.
2. Avoid riding the Tuk-tuk 3 wheel tricycle taxi. Negotiate price first if necessary.
3. Never take a taxi if the driver refuse to use the meter.
4. For Muay Thai boxing fans, never buy tickets from tourist info offices or hotels. They will only sell ringside $120 tickets to tourists. Go directly to the stadium by taking the taxi or orange boat ( Thewet station) walk 1 mile toward United Nations Bldg & Thai Army headquarter. Request a local thai-looking person to buy the $25 ticket for you because all the stadium's window ticket people will only sell you the expensive $120 ringside ticket if you look like a tourist. Stadium only opens every mon, wed, thur, & sun.
5. For bargain shopping, go to Platinum Mall or Chatuchak weekend market ( non- aircon, Sat & Sun only, train station N8 ). Wholesalers and businessmen from all the world normally go to Platinum mall to import goods because of good price & quality.

I chose to stay here after reading many of the reviews on here and I am so glad I did. The hotel is located on the East of the river, not in the heart of the city but this is by no means to the hotel's detriment.
As we stayed for 3 nights, the hotel collected us from the airport. The reception and portering staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with information and tips right from the beginning of our stay.
The rooms were bright and clean, furnished to a high standard, breakfast was superb! All for £24 a night!

Several reviews on here complain about the distance to the skytrain, I really do not understand what the issue is. turn right from the hotel and follow the alley down to the mainroad and turn left, the skytrain is literally 300m infornt of you, the access could not be better and then its just 2 stops to the central pier and access to all the sights up the river. Stops for the Malls, Jim Thompson's House and Patpong are a bit further down the same line. A tuk-tuk back from the Khao San Rd late one night was 200B.

We ate on our first evening at the local dining spot over the road and slightly to the left as you look at it - great local food and friendly locals.

We were so pleased with the hotel and its location, we would absolutely stay here again and recommend it unreservedly.

Five nights stay in Bangkok for first-time visitors made so much better by this hotel. I was skeptical during my research phase of this trip of so many great TA reviews and a price so good. After our stay I can report the praise is well deserved for the Loft. Free pickup from BKK, spotlessly clean rooms, great breakfast with cooked to order Thai and western options, and first rate service. The front desk staff were a great help as others have mentioned, and really made the differnce in our Bangkok experience. First visits can be hard to navigate, yet at the Loft the staff was knowledgable of tourist attractions, dining options, and most importantly transportation. The Loft is located in Thonburi west of the Chao Phraya River in a predominately residental area, away from the major tourist visited areas. Not really a problem if you are willing to use the easily navigable BTS/MRT transit system, which has a stop 5 minutes walk from the Loft. We like the low density local feel (mostly 4-5 story buildings as opposed to the high rise 'canyons' of other city areas) of the area and found with proper planning this location worked fine. Plus the BTS has great air-con! The Loft staff also found taxis for us, making certain the drivers knew our destination and we had a rough estimate of the proper fare and always handed us a return card with instructions in Thai, - very, very useful.

Our rooms, 206 and 209, were large, with huge king size beds, flat panel tv, room fridge, decent size toilet/shower room. Plenty of countertop space to setup things but little drawer space, no dresser, but had a decent size closet for hanging clothes. Bed, plllows, and linens/bed throw were very clean and appeared relatively new. Nice stuffed arm chair under the window for reading or TV watching. Nescafe and tea service with water boiler. The room views were not distinctive, 206 looked out over the rear alley, but had very little street noise, 209 faced the front street view with slightly more traffic noise. Security in the hotel was good. A room key was required to use the elevator and the stairwell doors, and the single hotel entrance from the street was directly in front of the lobby desk and a doorman was always on duty.

This was a good budget choice in a ctiy with many lodging options, but careful attention should be made to your location and availibility of transportation. Metered cabs are plentiful but get mired in the city traffic. And some city areas, mainly the Old City, are far from quicker public options for transport. The river taxi services the old city and is a very cheap, and easy option off the BTS line, with an full length ticket only 15 baht, but service was packed during peak hours, and waits long in between outside of rush hour and the entire river taxi service stops at 7:00 PM.
Again the location of the Loft proved valuable. As a side note about transportation, we had arrived from Siem Reap where 'tuk-tuks' were a cheap, reliable, trustworthy form of transport. In Bangkok they were a rip-off for tourists, unless you knew exactly where to go and how much it should cost, negotiated in advance. Most drivers wanted to pitch a certain shop and 'stop there first', or acted ignorant of pricing if you demanded only an exact destination. Mostly an air-con taxi was cheaper and just as fast, just remind the driver to start the meter.

The only downsides of the Loft were, well none really. If you do not to require turndown serice and the like, can handle a safe, local area, are willing to experience Bangkok mass transit, and don't require high-end pampering, the Bangkok Loft Inn is a great low-cost but quality option for a Bangkok tourist.

This was the 3rd hotel that we stayed in on our 12 day trip in Bangkok. So, after being treated so well at the Courtyard Marriott, I didn't think the other hotels would fair up to our first hotel stay. I was wrong. Very wrong! As other reviewers mentioned, the customer service as soon as you approach the property is outstanding and consistent. We were greeted with fresh juice, open arms and much information to make our stay comfortable. The concierge took our luggage to the room and we were on our way. So, as I stated earlier, I was indeed a little skeptical, so I did a thorough examination of the room. The room was spacious and open. The bathroom was clean and a good size. We learned that we had a room on the street side of the building and a previous reviewer advised against that; so we requested a room change and were obliged immediately. Our next room was similar with complimentary coffee, water, safe and refrigerator. The lighting and air quality in the room was good. The bed was very firm. Flat screen TV was nice and plenty of closet space. Room check was good, but I was still disappointment by the absent gym and no iron in the room. I got over my disappointment quickly, because the humidity and heat wore out my wrinkles and the walking around the area and to the park offered a nice workout.
On our way out of the hotel, we were greeted again and the front desk engaged us with small talk. Very nice staff! They offered us fruit and took our breakfast selection for the next morning. As we ate amongst the locals down the street from the hotel, we were greeted in passing by the hotel staff. By day 2 we were amongst family and friend within both the hotel and the community. The short walk to the BTS helped us travel to and from our favorite massage places and shopping areas. We learned that there is a lot to do in this area, if you walk around within a few blocks of the hotel. Breakfast at the Terrace was a treat. It was like being in a café with friends. The Terrace food was great and it offered just enough variety of American and Thai foods. The lighting and openness made you feel like you were on vacation and that café feel made you feel like you were experiencing something new, but familiar. For that midnight craving, there is a mini snack bar in the front lobby where you can purchase chocolate. I just loved that amenity! Although, we had free WIFI in the room, the business centered offered computers and internet access. Lastly, prior to check out, the front desk staff arranged us a Taxi for our departure and offered us a snack bag to the airport. We were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and care. The snack bag had sandwiches, water, juice and fruit. Our parents did the same thing, when we departed from our visit. As I stated before, we were amongst family and friends. We will definitely, be back to Bangkok and the Bangkok Loft Inn. You can’t beat the price or the service! We highly recommend this hotel to others visiting Bangkok!

Stayed in this hotel for four (4) nights and it comes with a complimentary airport pickup (minimum of 3 nights stay for one to be eligible for the free transfer). The rooms are huge, comes with a closet, in-room safe, shower with heater, bidet sprayer and strong but quiet AC. They will replenish two bottled water everyday, together with the replacement of towels. They will make your room everyday so better to keep all belongings safe. The night doorman was excellent, he will always greet you with a smile and offer you free fruits located in the front desk. This hotel also offers wonderful breakfast, with options such as Thai, American or Salad as main course. Fruits, cereals, bread and pastries, or yogurts in buffet-style offering are also included in the breakfast. Mango Sticky Rice was also made available during our stay which was a pleasant surprise. Free WiFi was either a hit or miss. We stayed on the rooms in the 3rd floor facing the street as these were the ones available for early check-in. Traffic noise outside was okay, only heard the engine noise of high-revving motorbikes and not much else.

There is a 7-11 convenience store about 10 minutes walk. A market is just beside the 7-11 where you can have more fruits if the one in the hotel is insufficient. Stairs to the elevated walkway of the BTS Skytrain is just around the corner, with about 7 to 10 minute walk further to the Wongwian Yai station. Main malls are about 20 minute ride away from this station.

Stay in this hotel if you prefer a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok. Only wished there was a Spa open till late night near the hotel.

Travel Tip: The two Skytrain lines (Silom and Sukhumvit) are interconnected on Siam station. Just purchase one ticket and look-up the fare table in your station of origin then transfer trains in Siam if you need to.

Travel Tip: You can take the Chao Praya River Express boat that is below the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station if you want to go to the main palaces and temples. Take the orange flag boat which stops at Chang pier (Grand Palace) and Tien Pier (Wat Pho). Across the Tien Pier is the Wat Arun. Thewet Pier (Dusit Palace) is further north of the river. Metered taxi ride from Thewet pier to Dusit Palace grounds cost us 53 Baht.

Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, great service, great value. very near to BTS Wongwian Yai. So reach anywhere in bangkok within minutes. Breakfast was excellent. Though the hotel did not have a restaurant, they provided dinner for my 2 year old daughter, which was a wonderful touch, considering locating restaurants on the first night in Taksin road. Everyday somebody offered a cookie or toffee to my daughter, that made her very special For dinner you can try a street restaurant (they have only dinner cooked in the road) which is about 250 metres from the hotel. Take right after leaving the hotel. Simply great fish and chips along with some steaks. There are also two seven eleven nearby, so you can buy cooked food from there. Also if you walk a little further you will find some good bakery, selling very good soft cakes and muffins. Walk a little more you will find robonson and watsons along with some more restaurants (about 1 km)

For exchanging dollars dont exchange from the bank but exchange from the road opposite the hotel (Thonburi Exchange). You get better rates.

When I travel solo I sometimes I let them know I have a guest coming. If they stay overnight I think they want the "guest" to leave the key or check in with the lobby. The maximum people for my room was always 2 so having one guest was never an issue when I stayed here.
