Good location, a few minutes walk from the great palace, Wat Pho temple, flower market and the Kawasan. The stuff is very helpful and they will suggest and arrange many day tours and help you get to places you want to visit. If you choose to take a trip that begins before breakfast they will pack a lunch box for... More

and this wasn't the high or low, but average in Bangkok might be below standards elsewhere. The price was fine and the location was very convenient, but the staff was least helpful of the 4 hotels we stayed in. Check-in cat was the most helpful; everyone else seemed to be hiding and when tracked down acted very vague and didn't... More

The staff were super friendly and spoke English very well. They provided a lot of recommendations for things in the area and how to get around town. The rooms had comfortable beds. Witching walking distance of the Grand Palace. I would stay here again. The gardens were really pretty!

Mr It's unbelievably expensive for what you get. £100 a night for the suite thanks to the change in exchange rate and you do not live like a king. Extra charges for drinkable coffee and juice at breakfast (which is poor quality aside from the eggs). A hotel bar which is closed by 10 and on the one occasion we... More

A family hotel with excellent location makes the hotel very attractive in the beginning but when we landed there at 3AM the staff was also ready to welcome us. Most of the major attractions are at a walking distance and having many government offices nearby adds up to the security aspect of the place. Rooms are very nice and specious... More

Set in an old primary school, the rooms are clean and spacious. Toothbrush, toothpaste, pump handwash and shampoo provided was a nice bonus. Water and snacks provided daily free of charge. Setting is beautiful, with park benches outside the rooms overlooking the gardens are good for a beer late at night, as well as the koi fish pond. The location... More

As a family of 4 we stayed in the 2 room suite and the room and service exceeded our expectations in every way! Our daughters loved the huge fish pond and were treated to food to feed the fish a couple times a day. I have stayed in this hotel several times (2 months in 2014, 2 short stays in 2015), only in shared dorm room. The rooms are nice, beds very comfortable, locker available. Bathroom shared, but clean and very satisfactory. Bottle of water offered daily. The staff was very helpful, nice and friendly! I loved the breakfasts and the fish pond. The... More

We arrived at the hotel after flying for 24 hrs from Houston, at 13:30 pm. They helped us carry out luggage and took us to the room (101) immediately. The room was clean, bedding sheets soft, made of high quality cotton, beds comfortable. I slept well. Breakfast included a variety of options, like noodles or rice, fried eggs, fresh fruits,... Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
