As this was our first stay in Southeast Asia, we had some apprehension about what things would be like. The staff at Khosan Baan Thai made things really easy for us, providing maps with places to visit and directing us to an "off the tourist...More
I really liked the location of this hostel; it was not too crazy busy. Free breakfast and WiFi, but the former is basic (eggs, toast and hotdogs) and the latter is spotty. Still, the staff was extremely helpful aiding us in getting around, booking train...More
The rooms are basic - a mattress on the floor with fan(s) or aircon. Try to request a small room if you get a room with a fan; we stayed here on 2 occasions and the larger room got much hotter at night, plus it...More
Clean, broadly good value (although they charge for drinking water) and safe place to stay: staff generally helpful but not much English spoken. Bedroom fairly basic (just a mattress on the floor), bathrooms were fine and breakfast very uninspiring (2 pieces of toast, fried egg...More
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around
Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

I agree the ladies that work here are super sweet and friendly. The Thais know tourists are their livelihood and they would not bite off the hand that feeds them, I personally witnessed the Thai people almost ricksing their job to prove their innocence. Please do reconsider your whereabouts before, before accusing innocent people. Their place looked very secure with security gates and cctv. I recommend this place to experience an authentic Thai experience !
