I was in a double room, very clean as the bathroom. Small but confortable and enough to sleep by night and visit Bangkok by day. Location is perfect, 2min from the Chao phraya express boatbus pier (n13) and Khaosan area. Easy to reach by foot the spots in the historical zone. The window was on the tiny parking so not... More

Its located in the heart of Khao San road and pretty easy to find as one can get a cheap minivan from Suvarnabhumi airport (about 1 hr in normal traffic condition just for 150Baht) - it is especially helpful if one arrives in the airport in the early morning when the BTS hasnt started. The hotel is very near to... More

The hotel is very near to phra atit pier and khaosan road ia just few minutes walking. Rooms are small But comfortable. The hotel provided breakfast every morning. One drawback is there was no lift. So we had to carry our luggage to third floor.

Very good location, in the heart of the city, and close to the river. You can walk around and take river boats to go around the city. The staff is reasonably friendly, though not good in English, makes it a bit difficult to communicate well with them. The room was ok-ok. Neat and Clean but the mattress on bed was... More

One of the best attraction of Thara House is the location. two minute walk to the river, N 13 Pha Arthit Pier. 5 mins walk to the very famous active noisy Khao san road. and a bus station just in front of the Guesthouse. but next to the Guesthouse there are two bars so until midnight that area is little... Very close to the central locations of BKK eg. castle, Gold Mountain and to Kao San road. During Songkran street where the hotel is very busy and parties last until morning so during this time no chance to sleep well ;) however after Songkran it was relatively calm, however windows are thin and when you have room with view on... We got a room with window on the 4th floor. We couldn't sleep until 12pm when bars finally shut down. During the night we heard smashing doors of other guests. Otherwise the room was clean with AC and working wifi. We were provided with a coffee and cake in the morning.

The location of this place is amazing, it is about a 8 minute walk to Khao San Road which is great for at night but far enough from the noise but it was also perfect since from being a bit further it was closer to the tourist attractions (grand palace) about a 25 minute walk, being able to walk to... First of all this hostel is in the perfect location! 5 min walk from Khao San road but nice and quiet at night! Great little cafes all around it (Ricky's 2 mins down the road had a massive menu of Thai and western dishes) and lovely shops. The hostel itself was rather basic, no common room area or lift, no... Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
