We had a quick overnight at Avani Atrium to eat dinner at their Japanese Steakhouse restaurant and try their hotel for the first time. One strength of the GHA loyalty program is the concept of ‘local experiences’ instead of earning points. Because of the value of the dinner at Avani Atrium by redeeming a local experience, it made our stay great value for the money because the Japanese steakhouse dinner was very good. They advertise the "Platinum Local Experience" as being a shared dinner but it was a full multiple course dinner for two.

For a long stay I thought the rooms were aging and the price level not low enough relative to more modern hotels from other chains such as Marriott which are sometimes priced in the same range. As a GHA Black member I received a nice upgrade to a corner suite which I appreciated, but the room will not wow especially the bathroom which had the dreaded shower in a bathtub instead of a stand-alone shower, but at least the water pressure was excellent. There were some features which elevates the hotel above select service hotels such as Courtyard or Four Points: the bathroom toiletries used were Malin & Goetz which are the same as those available at Le Meridien which is an upscale brand. In addition, Avani had bathrobes and slippers rather than bare bones amenities from select service hotels. The air conditioning was working but it was not the strongest: even by setting the temperature to the lowest possible, the room was a bit warmer than what we would have liked. The welcome gift was a nice bowl of fruits with chocolates.

Wifi was blazing fast with speed over 150 Mbps for download, and upload was reasonably good with over 30 Mbps.

This hotel is currently being used as an Alternative State Quarantine hotel and some floors are blocked and dedicated for ASQ. Because I did not think the strength of the hotel was the room itself, I would be hesitant to book a quarantine stay here, but I would consider returning in the future to book a dinner by redeeming a local experience again.

Dear WorldWideTravel88, Thank you for your stay and taking the time to review about your experience at Avani Atrium Bangkok. I am delighted to learn that overall your were satisfied with our services and the room amenities. Appreciate that we were competed with other leading brands, although, there are some areas for improvement, but that is our aim to achieve. Thank you for the constructive feedback for our improvement in place. Since Local Experience benefit has been removed from GHA, but the replacement benefit with Discovery Dollar can be use at Benihana restaurant as well. We do hope to have opportunity to welcome you back again at Avani Atrium Bangkok soon. Best Regards, Operational Excellence Manager

We stayed 5 nights in an executive room, from booking to check out the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and engaging.

We arrived in very early but were welcomed with breakfast in the club lounge and checked in by 9am.

Henry, May and Day in the club looked after us incredibly well. Their attention to detail was flawless.
All of the extras and perks were included as stated, plus there was a daily laundry allowance of 3 items 😀.

The quality of the food and drink in the club lounge was exceptional, we are both vegetarian and were well accomodated. This made the club room excellent value for money.

Housekeeping and turndown ensured we had everything we needed, the room was spacious, comfortable and quiet.

We were able to escape the heat at the pool which was very clean and refreshing, and the mango dacquiri at the pool bar was excellent!

The hotel provides a frequent shuttle service to shopping complexes and the closest MRT, making Bangkok very accessible!

Our room rate included a return airport transfer in a private lux car, which was ready to go at the pre arranged time and made departing so easy.

Thank you all for looking after us so well, we have left the Avani feeling very relaxed and refreshed.

I book an executive room ,which, amongst other things offered a free pick up from and return to the airport, which was a great start to the week,
When i arrived , which I have to point out was at 7am, I was taken up to the 23rd floor,to check in , even getting offered breakfast! When normal checkin is 2pm!
The staff in the club longe are all very helpful and friendly.
The longe is very nice and offers refreshments throughout most of the day, with cocktails getting served between 6 till 8pm, very quick to fill up your glass
And always tons of various snacks to eat
The gym is big and full of machines,
The swimming pool and pool area is nice.
I only had breakfast, and only in the club lounge , which was really nice with plenty of choice.
The room i was in was big and had been recently had a refurb.
The free wifi was good , and getting 3 pieces of laundry done free every day was fantastic.
I cant say enough good things regarding this hotel, and every member of staff , that i at least had contact with were really nice and very friendly.
The hotel itself is a 10-15 min walk to the MRT underground station , i believe there is a hotel shuttle bus that goes once an hour, but i enjoyed the walk.
All in all a hotel well worth trying,

Awesome 16 day stay.

Priced along with hotels at the budget end of the ASQ list, the Avani Atrium is a class above that level. The rooms are an excellent size, with enough room to exercise, and of an excellent standard. You select your three daily meals from a menu each day, and although my vegan options were a bit limited, the quality of the food was very good, and every request that I made for dishes that were not on the menu was granted. I never felt hungry between meals, there was always more food than you could eat, as each meal was accompanied by salads and fruit, which usually went straight in my fridge. There was also a supply of juice and fizzy drinks in the fridge and six large packets of Leys crisps in the room when I arrived. You have to pay if you want extra cans of coke, etc, which is fair enough (although not at 90 baht a can) but you do get more cartons of fruit juice with breakfast each morning; more drinking water, tea, and coffee, are available on request.

The TV had lots of news channels, three or four English language movie channels, and a few sports channels, and the WiFi in the room was really good. Also, unlike the ASQ hotel I stayed in six months previously, the rooms were really well sound insulated, and I never heard any noise from any of the rooms adjacent to mine.

Lastly, the staff were really great ... really really great ... genuinely, a really great team.

This was my worst experience in a 5 stars hotel (if we can call it 5 stars), starting from the greeting at reception, all staff were fake kind and not making us comfortable. We were wearing slippers and shorts and they looked at us and the feeling we all had wasn’t welcoming at all. It took them ages to finally charge my credit card and give us the key that was not working as soon as we reach the room so we had to go back to reception and ask for a new one (this thing happened 3 times in total during a one night stay). When we booked we asked to add a single bed in a double bedroom and it wasn’t done, so we had to wait for them to arrange the bed which turned out to be a dirty old bed that could barely fit in the room. The next morning we brought out suitcases downstairs and the staff at the elevator didn’t even try to help us and with a very lazy way pointed us to an area where to leave our suitscases. The day we checked out my credit card was charged again and after having sent many emails they finally explained that it was a taxes charge which wasn’t charged at the time of check in. However they insisted we have taken something from the minibar while me and my friends haven’t even opened the bar! This is embarrassing and very unprofessional i am ashamed for them and i am 100% sure their service of refilling rooms is the one who made the mistake. The room where they charged minibar expenses was a second room we booked last minute and i am sure they haven’t even checked the minibar before giving the room which makes them a low level hotel. Also the furniture and the interior decor of rooms and lobby was old style and ugly, very poor taste. Overall my experience was terrible and i will definitely never go back to any AVANI group hotel considering also that the service was one of the worst experienced in all my travels.

For years my Melbourne-based daughter has been recommending that I stopover in Bangkok on my return from my annual trip to Australia so this year I did and stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The location was brilliant being a short walk from the metro station and the overhead fast train to the airport- the rail network is excellent and avoids the gridlock on the roads. The hotel was luxurious with a lovely outdoor pool and bar where I spent some time on each of my 3 evenings. The breakfast was unbelievable in terms of the quality and range of food on offer and the evening meals were of similar high standard. All the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, welcoming and courteous and the facilities in the hotel overall and the bedrooms were exceptional. A similar hotel in the UK would cost at least four times as much as this so whatever criteria you choose to adopt this hotel is a great place to stay.

The first comment I would make is to check out the type and location of this hotel which unfortunately we didn’t ( big mistake for us ), if we had checked out this hotel we would not have booked this hotel. However if you like large comprehensive hotels, slightly out of town, this hotel is for you.

The location of this hotel is a bit outside of the city hub but a 10 minute walk to the sky Train which is cheap but quite crowded.

This hotel has 568 bedrooms which, despite effort by the staff, I found it impersonal, although staff are polite and friendly, but I never saw the same person twice. The hotel has a large gym which is open to non hotel guest’s. Whist the swimming pool is small there are plenty of sun beds and a bar which serves drinks and food which personally I found over priced. The pool is located on the shady side of the hotel, so it’s comfortable but not ideal for sunbathing.

We were on the 21st floor which afforded great views of the city. The room was ok, a little corporate in style with a glass executive desk, but beginning to feel a little dated. We followed the hotel’s instructions to leave towels on the rail, not wanting to change towels daily. They were still changed daily regardless. However, housekeeping did a good job. The tv provides international news channels but little or no entertainment (no Netflix, HBO, etc). One channel is devoted to hotel information but there is little by way of written details of dining and beverage offers, spa treatments and prices or tourist information (local places of interest) which would also be beneficial.

Due to the large size of the hotel breakfast was not a calm and relaxing event . With guests and staff rushing around with plates etc the sheer volume of people and the level of noise was not very relaxing. As the dining room caters for such a large number of guests there was often a queue for the eggs station. However the breakfast was very comprehensive providing a large range of dishes for all tastes to a good standard.

I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars rather than the 5 stars it claims and I would choose a smaller hotel in future.

We stayed for 4 nights in Feb 2020. Beautiful hotel! Rooms are lovely and spacious with very comfy beds. Pool area is perfect for cooling down in the city heat. All staff were fantastic, very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was a highlight, lots of food on offer to cater for all tastes, delicious fresh fruit, eggs and pancakes cooked to order.

Close to BTS Skytrain and MRT subway but I'd recommend downloading the Grab taxi app because taxi's are so cheap and convenient. The Avani even had a discount deal running with Grab during our stay so we got money off.

I would definitely come back to the Avani Atrium when visiting Bangkok in the future.

No staff at front desk. This property should leave the chain "Avani and Discovery program (GHA)" as they not recognize the guest status. Even Though I have BLACK status they only provide maximum 1 step upgrade (normally 2 steps) and the day that I check-in they told me that 1 step higher room is fully booked to ASQ guest. And I did called reservation the room is still available for walk-in guest.

The room is very old and the building is look scary. I did check-out immediately and move to another hotel. Overpriced hotel not worth it.

Truly regret that you had left with negative impression to our property. Kindly be informed that Discovery Black Member privileges are vary depends on the brands and hotel categories. I do apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations that the request for double upgrade to our specialty suites was not granted – which we have stated on official websites that Member Upgrade at Avani Atrium Bangkok does not include upgrade to suite. Regardless your original booking was made for a Corner Suite on Government campaign promotion which is room only basis, our team member had offered you complimentary breakfast for 2 people and late check-out until 6.00 pm. as gesture of goodwill due to our facilities are limited refers to the current pandemic situation and restrictions by the Government Announcement. Although, we are working to maintain an exceptional level of service during the unprecedented situation, your arrival experience is not a reflection of the standards we strive to achieve, and I sincerely apologize for the disappointment during our Front Desk was unattended for a very short time as our team member went in and out back office while there were 2 Bellman covered to welcome you in Lobby at your presence. Your feedback has been shared to the team for improvement. I appreciate your feedback and apologize again for the unpleasant encounter. Stay safe and I do hope we have a chance to welcome you back at Avani Atrium Bangkok Hotel in the future. Yours Sincerely, Jon Warmington General Manager
