Lebua At State Tower is celebrated by many for its professional service and prime location, with easy access to the BTS skytrain and central pier, though some guests suggest being wary of touts nearby. The hotel's cleanliness and attention to detail are consistently praised, but opinions on the atmosphere and decor vary, with a mix of admiration and remarks on datedness. The amenities, including the lavish breakfast and the sky bar's breathtaking views, are popular, but some guests feel updates are necessary and prices can be steep.
Room quality receives mixed reviews; they are spacious with impressive views, yet several travelers advise that a refresh is needed. Despite these splendid features, there are frequent comments that the hotel may not offer the best value for money.

Detailed Reviews
We booked a staycation in Lebua at the start of July 2020, as part of our summer vacation plans in the present Covid-19 world we find ourselves living in. It has been over a year since our last visit, and I am pleased to say that the high level of attention you would expect from the staff is entirely intact. We received a warm welcome from them all (at every level) and they ensured that we had a wonderful experience during our stay.
The suite we had was on the 58th Floor and we received a free upgrade to a River View. There were lovely touches including a welcome fruit basket, a minibar of soft drinks and a good selection of toiletries etc.
We had access to the Executive Lounge, now located within the Cafe Muzo Restaurant. Lebua has had to make changes to the way the lounge operates due to social distancing etc., but nothing which spoilt our enjoyment. There is still a good selection of complimentary alcoholic beverages available all day until 6pm, and food is served from a slimmed down a la carte menu, rather than the buffet of the past. This has the impact that choice is much more limited, but the advantage that your food is freshly prepared to order. The situation is not of Lebua’s making, and the changes made have to be seen as a silver lining rather than a disappointment. We enjoyed light lunch and afternoon high tea and both were lovely.
The breakfast was also from a slimmed down menu, once again prepared to order. This was also delicious but lacked the “wow” of Lebua’s previous breakfast experience which offered a vast choice. This review is not meant as a criticism of the breakfast, the hotel has simply had to adapt to the present situation which has seen guest numbers significantly drop due to low tourist numbers, and it is not practical and presumably not fully safe at this time to operate the breakfast experience as it used to be. I enjoyed a lovely breakfast and look forward to seeing this experience develop as we get used to the “new normal” and also an increase in guest numbers.
The hotel was, unsurprisingly, quiet. We had the lounge almost to ourselves during the day, and the pool was very quiet also. There was access to a reduced sized gym with sanitised machines available for use. The sun lounges around the pool were socially distanced in small groups. Everything was there as before, but presented in a new way designed to allow enjoyment whilst also being reassuringly “coronavirus safe”.
Overall, we had a great experience. If you can get to Lebua, now is a good time to visit. They will do all they can to help you have a great time with them. They gave us a late check out at no extra cost, and even offered to extend that if we required it. We will definitely return again, and look forward to seeing this fine hotel playing host to tourists from all over the world – they are doing a good job at weathering the present storm and deserve to see the good times return, as they will, as travel resumes in the hopefully near future.

Only stayed 2 days/1 night, but what a great experience. An iconic hotel made famous by the hangover movies, it offers a fantastic comfortable stay. The rooms are a good size, well appointed and everything is very functional. No annoying quirks which regular hotel users will come to notice. Superb views of course and the bars are all amazing. Didn't have the chance to dine here. Staff go above and beyond to make your stay special. From in room check-in to constant attention to one's needs, it can only be recommended for a vip style stay. After checkout they allowed use of the room for luggage storage and use the shower again until it was time to leave the city. Of course during covid the hotel is quiter than usual so this may not always be possible, but a nice touch.
Its 5 star and a tourist destination in itself, so be aware bar prices are reflected in this, but having a drink or 2 with these type of views is worth splashing out even in these difficult times. Go ahead , treat yourself.

Stayed here for five nights at quite a good room rate which included breakfast which was superb with loads of choice, everything from cereal and yoghurt, through usual morning goods, freshly made pancakes and crepes, sushi, cold meats, bacon, sausage and many of the usual local choices. Staff very attentive, did have to queue for a table on Sunday morning ( anywhere in the world at 9 ish on a Sunday!!)
The rooms are big, we had a river view and those views are amazing, day and night.
The rooms were cleaned well every day with a second service in the evening.
There was a kitchenette area with a hob, coffee maker, kettle, microwave etc but no utensils, plates or cutlery so you couldn't really prepare anything if you'd wanted to.
It is a little pretentious, the staff are friendly but at times over bearing. The price of room service, food and drinks is absolutely extortionate if you ordered a coke ( we didn't !) it would have been 500 baht plus the 17% they add on.
Nothing much nearby the hotel for eating other than very local type establishments but it was only a few minutes walk to Sathorn for the pier and also sky train
Separate review for the sky bar......

We stayed at Lebua recently and everything was amazing, however there were quiet a few moments which damped our stay. We had booked for two double beds and were informed they only had a king bed left, and then to attempt to make up for it they pushed us into booking dinner at a Breeze which as way out of price range and away from the experience we came for. This made us feel really uncomfortable and we had to cancel our booking the next day, when we called to cancel they said they did but had actually not cancelled the booking. We had to re cancel. The concierge staff were amazing always making sure that we had a metered taxi and providing accurate cost expectations around Tuk Tuks. This attention to detail was what a hotel of this caliber should atain for!

+1
I don’t even know where to start, but for the sake of not boring anyone, I want to say everything, EVERYTHING at Lebua has exceeded my expectations. This hotel was the last “home away from home” on my two week vacation and now I really don’t want to leave. From the moment of getting 10 feet from the doors, I smelt the beautiful aroma of fresh flowers. We were greeted politely after looking not our best, traveling from afar and myself being in a motorbike accident a few days ago.
SueSue and Chana W. came up to us, offered us water and to get us checked in. We understood that we were hours early for check in time but figured we would ask if they had a room available. They did offer us a room, but told us it was exact opposite of what we requested, smoking and 2 beds. We told her that as long as we could leave our luggage in a safe place we would tour the city and be back later.
The 2 young ladies also offered for us to use their gym area to freshen up but we declined as we just wanted to get the day started.
They were very informative and told us the do’s and donts of the city. Coming to another foreign city and not having heard english for a few weeks, this info was welcomed and greatly appreciated.
They also gave us 2 tickets for a drink to the sky bar any night during our stay.
After exiting the hotel he offered to have the hotels own Tuk Tuk drop us off at the Pier which allowed us the more cost effective way to tour the city. Only 15 baht!
That afternoon we came back to check in, our bags were already in our room and they upgraded us to a suite with a lovely handwritten note.
We had made reservations at Breeze, and the service and food there was also impeccable!
The view was the most stunning I have ever had in all my travels! Best table in the restaurant in my opinion.
Without Chana and SueSue there is no way our stay would have gone as smoothly as it did. I would recommend this hotel 1000 times over and will definitely be staying here in the future.

We recently stayed at this very strange Hoel for a couple of nights as part of our Asia experience.
In our opinion this hotel has got it completely wrong: 3 star accommodation which badly needs upgrading and 7 star bars on the top floors which most people simply can't afford to buy a drink let alone eat there!
I did buy a couple of cocktails cost 120 euros, the view is amazing and the bars have a lovely ambience.
My advise to the hotel management would be to bring the 'mix' together, upgrade the rooms and offer bars and restaurants where people can actually afford to eat in.
This mix simply does not work.

This place is lovely. The staff and the view from the room is second to none. The beds are comfy and the breakfast is great. However, we stayed at other hotels in Thailand for about a quarter of the price with a very similar service. Be aware you have to pay a 5000 baht deposit when you get there that can only be paid in cash or a credit card, not a debit card. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there but we were shown to the pool/gym area to chill there until it was which was nice. The room itself is a bit tired and in need of a bit of attention. Also whenever you eat at any of the restaurants/bars there is 17% extra added on in service and VAT that they don’t tell you about before (and the service charge is compulsory), so two glasses of wine, a pizza and a chicken wrap cost the equivalent of around £92. Then the sky bar, two g&ts cost the equivalent of £51 and there is nowhere for you to sit. They were also quite pushy up there trying to get you to buy champagne cocktails as soon as you step out of the lift. I wouldn’t normally be critical but I just think for the amount you pay in relation to the rest of Thailand it could be better...

I have stayed in Bangkok several times but this was the first time at Lebau, first impressions were very good our welcoming concierge checked us in but we were early so had to wait for our room which was fair enough as we could use the pool and leisure facilities until it was. It was actually the room that I found disappointing it was heartless and we could have been in any city in the world. We had what they refer to as a suite, which consisted of a large seating area, large bathroom and the King size bed area.
Lebau is known for it Roof Top Bar which I will review separately as it is operated with a completely different attitude from the hotel, Staff in the hotel are welcoming and friendly Staff in the Sky Bar are ........well read my other review.
The Hotel itself is okay and reasonable value, but in my opinion not 5 Star, I had an issue with the Air Conditioning that had Frozen Up and therefore was very noisy, the rooms are basic and in areas a little tired, there are better 5 Star hotels in the price range, also be aware that they take a large holding deposit against your credit card, which take 1-2 weeks to be released back to you. Also what they ask you to sign actually says NO REFUND so be aware.
I would not stay at Lebau again

The customer service here is top notch - warm, accommodating and very professional; however, we were surprised when we arrived in our room that this hotel gets such good ratings. Our room was pretty tired and outdated - well-used, so to speak (the smell of the disinfectant was overpowering). We had a minor issue and were moved to another room, and while it was larger, it was no less in need of a style refresh. Bed was comfortable, and bathrooms were more updated than the rooms themselves. Not sure if this is common in Bangkok, but the rooms were both very large, which is nice after tiny hotel rooms in cities like Paris and New York. Amenities and restaurants are very pricey, but for the dining and bar options, you're also paying for the skyline views, so that's definitely a big part of it. Overall, a bit disappointed by the property, but the service and people definitely exceeded expectations.

PROS:
The value for money was great. The rooms are extremely luxurious and the service exceptional. Our room in the 57th floor had an amazing view. The staff was friendly and competent at all times, the cleaning ladies came twice or even three times a day. The lounge access was great. During the day you get a selection of drinks and high quality food for free. In general the experience we had during our stay was exceptional.
CONS:
The dresscode in the lounge seemed a little over the top, especially for breakfast. With nice shorts and nice shoes access wasn’t granted at 6 o’clock in the morning because long pants are required. The main drawback are the prices for room service and the restaurants compared to the room rate. 3 Gin Tonic’s in one of the several bars or 4 Pizza Margeritha from the room service equaled the rate for one room per night.
