I stayed at this hotel from 18 to 19 Feb. I hadn't made any booking for the night so, I just walked into the hotel. I booked one room with ABF. It was THB 2,400 including VAT and service charge. For the price, I was very satisfied with it. My room was huge and clean than I expected. also all...

Visited in the month of February 2017 with friends and stayed for one night at the the tower wing of the hotel. The rooms at the tower wing are more modern and spacious than the main wing, the washrooms too are more spacious at tower wing. The hotel always remains busy with tourists and the breakfast area seems like a...

The Ambassador hotel is located in Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok. This is one of the best areas for shops, and restaurants. The hotel is very large and has shops and 2 restaurants in its modern lobby. However, the rooms are very old and outdated. The fitness gym is large but contains a lot of old equipment from the 1980’s. The front...

We got the room at 67% off due to ordering the day before. The only downside is we seem to be located next to the cleaning staffs depot. We can hear some loud chatter in the morning, when they start doing their rounds. Besides that the hotel seems very fine quality, we might try the food tonight and we got...

We chose Ambassador hotel for its location and price. Our package includes breakfast and the choices were okay, less meat but we were satisfied. The room was comfortable for 3 although a little outdated especially the shower but nevertheless our stay was awesome. Check in/out was fast and staff were friendly. The lobby of the hotel was beautiful and classic....

The worst thing about the hotel is that the staff is really bad at communicating in English. They just do not understand anything and you end up getting frustrated. I requested for a single bed and they allotted a room with two beds. After going to and forth and trying to convince them they send a huge maintenance guy who...

Stayed for 4 nights initially, in standard room, I wrote out a formal complaint about the room "safety deposit box" which wasn't too safe, as it was completely portable, & could easily have been put in a suitcase & forced open when taken off the Hotel premises. I spoke to a "manager" who thanked me for me comments & offered...

Staffs are very courteous and some of them can understand and can speak English. Looks like the hotel is more popular with Indians, Bangladeshis and Sri Lankans. The hotel is centrally located, near to metro station and 24 hours cab service available. One of the attended has to be told to your journey destination. He will explain to the cab...

The hotel has an amazing lobby and the service is pretty good. The best part of the hotel is location. It is well located. There are good food joints and massage parlours in near by area. The rooms are average but are worth the cost.

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Hi everyone, our family has been staying at Ambassador Hotel on our annual Bangkok Vacation for the last 15 years and we love it as it feels like home and the area is just unbeatable!

The last time I went there was in April 2014 and on this trip we noticed the hotel has fallen a few steps back from what it was compared to 2013. A few things I would like to know :

1. The A/C in the Reception area used to be really good and refreshing to walk into after a full day of shopping but in 2014 the A/C was literally non existent, so what I want to know is - was it temporary or is it still the same ?

How about the A/C in the Tower Wing Ground floor lift area (near the fish tanks ?) and in the AM Cafe. We usually hang around these areas hence the concern.

2. We always stay in the Tower Wing and have found that the Rooms and Washrooms were quite good (no foul smell, cockroaches etc) is the standard still the same in the tower wing?

The house keeping in the tower wing used to do an awesome job cleaning the rooms, how is it now ?

3. Is the hotel still happening like it used to be ? One plus point for this hotel used to be that it was never boring (people always in the lobby area etc).

These questions might be weird to some but this year we will be spending around 17 days during the Christmas and new year season in Bangkok and can't let anything spoil our holiday as it is a very special one this year! if the hotel has really gone down we might have to look for a replacement hotel - sadly :(

Thanks,

Jamie - Sri Lanka.
