Bit of an old 80's feel to it but still a great hotel. Out of all my hotels in thailand this one had the best breakfast. Not bad nite life on the street of hotel and only a short walk to busy Khaosan rd. Hotel had a little gym and a very nice pool.

The location is quite good. Not too noisy as Khaosan Rd but at the same time you are in the middle if everything. Rooms look a bit old, but they were clean and for a short stay we had everything we need. I would stay there again.

This mid-range hotel is located very near Khao San road. A good place for groups and families on a budget. They serve good breakfast buffet at the ground floor where the restaurant is located. The hotel is not recommended if you want a quiet and a peaceful place. Currently, Viengtai is closed for renovation.

This hotel is just off the famous Khoa San Road which is perfect for those wanting the travelling experience, but does mean that the area is busy and noisy at night, if your room is front facing. The rooms are basic, but functional and very clean. The bathroom was small, but clean. Shower not suitable for anybody over 5'10" unless... More

A very central location on rambuttri road, which is slightly less wild than khao san road. Hotel lobby is nice, staff are nice, will arrange your taxis. Decor 1980s but not an issue. All eqiupment in the gym is broken and unsafe. Pool was ok. Police arrive at 2am to shut down music and disperse the crowds, so you will... More

Accommodation is pretty basic, but this is a brilliant location! So central, great restaurants nearby, most things within walking distance. Staff are really helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my staff, would go back.

Rooms were simple but you can't ask for a better location. It is just far enough away from the night markets so it isn't too noisy, but close enough to enjoy the nightlife, restaurants and markets were are located in this area.

This place is perfect if you want to explore Bangkok! Location is superb, right in busy Khosan rd area with plenty of restaurants, markets, temples etc in the area. We had basic room but it was clean and offered everything we needed. We did not get disturbed at night by the busy street outside as you get at many other... More

We stayed here for a night as part of a Contiki tour. I have to say the location was phenomenal. While the area is as touristy as you can get (ie. they had carts selling scorpions and other insects as snacks - which only tourists were eating as a novelty), it is exciting, and like being in another world. The... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
